Chapter 267 What Do I Really Want?

The shadow moved at an astonishing speed, wielding a dagger as it lunged toward William's back.

Only after hearing Sophia's warning did William abruptly realize its existence. He swiftly dodged to the side, but he was a step too slow. After avoiding the vital area, the dagger still managed to pierce William's shoulder from behind.

William furrowed his brows and tightly gripped his long knife in response.

"Dare to stab me? I'll chop you to death!" William followed with a kick, sending him flying. Gritting his teeth in pain, he pulled out the short knife embedded in his shoulder and used it as a dart, shooting it toward the man in black.

The short knife flew swiftly, protected by the darkness of night, carrying a faint sound of breaking the air.

Just as the man in black regained balance, the short knife hit him directly in the throat, and he fell down in disbelief.

Zachary, witnessing this, gasped in astonishment. William was formidable, taking a knife wound as if it was nothing and even retaliating against the man in black. It was quite frightening for him.

In that instant, Zachary noticed Sophia coming out of the tent, and his eyes lit up.

"Sophia, it's great to see you here." Zachary rushed toward Sophia, holding the broken sword.

Sophia screamed in fear. Just as Zachary was about to reach her, William arrived first and embraced her while swiftly striking Zachary with his long knife.

"Didn't I tell you not to come out of the tent?" William asked Sophia in his arms.

"I couldn't help it! I saw someone attacking you from behind." Sophia, protected in William's embrace, felt the warmth emanating from him, causing her heart to flutter. However, when she saw blood on his shoulder, she was immediately scared.

"William, you're bleeding!"

"It's fine, it's just a minor injury." William reassured Sophia and made her hide again in the tent. Then, he charged toward Zachary, wielding his longsword.

Zachary assumed that William would be weakened due to his injury, but upon confronting him again, he realized that William's speed and strength hadn't diminished at all. He was still overpowering Zachary, especially now that his sword had been broken.

A powerful strike caught Zachary off guard, directly slashing his chest. The faint surge of supernatural energy penetrated his body, instantly causing severe internal injuries. He coughed up blood!

"You... you're ruthless!" Knowing that he couldn't win, Zachary abandoned his broken sword and attempted to flee. However, William chased after him and used his foot to lift up the broken sword, shooting it like a dart.

The broken sword pierced through his chest, killing Zachary on the spot.

Witnessing all this, Arturo was overwhelmed with grief.

"Zachary!" But before he could finish speaking, Sharon struck him on the head with a folding knife, causing blood to splatter. It didn't take long for him to lose his life.

The other members of the Hawk Team were similarly overpowered by William's relentless onslaught.

The Hawk Team members who sensed danger tried to escape but were swiftly pursued and killed by Beauvoir.

Thus, all twenty members of the Hawk Team, as well as Zachary and Arturo, met their demise on this deserted island.

"The Graham family is ruthless. They're going to such great lengths to capture Sophia," William remarked, casting a glance at the corpses scattered on the ground, feeling a hint of emotion.

"Let's clean up. Baca, tally up the casualties and report to me later," William said once the dust had settled. He then felt a slight pain in his shoulder. His wound!

Fortunately, this time, he had brought doctors along for the shooting of "Wilderness Life," who could disinfect and dress his wound. It shouldn't be a big problem.

"Yes, Mr. Brown!" Baca went downstairs to assess the casualties and instructed someone to handle the bodies on the ground.

Throughout the whole ordeal, the filming crew remained hidden in their tents, trembling in fear. The female actresses, in particular, were pale with fright. They didn't expect to encounter vendetta while on a shoot.

However, once everything was over, they emerged from their tents and examined the situation outside.

Sophia immediately went to find William, who was currently having his wound disinfected and dressed by a doctor.

"Mr. Brown, you're quite formidable. I just witnessed you killing several black-clad individuals single-handedly. If it were me, I would have been terrified," one of the accompanying doctors said admiringly while sterilizing and applying medicine to William's wound.

"Afterward, please go and check on my companions too. They've also sustained injuries." William expressed concern for his comrades. The members of the Hawk Team were formidable, and many of his companions had been injured.

"Don't worry, Mr. Brown. Once I'm finished dressing your wound, I'll go see them," the doctor reassured him.

While William conversed with the doctor, Sophia entered the treatment tent.

"Let me handle the dressing. You go treat the others." Sophia squatted down and, upon seeing the crimson wound on William's shoulder, felt a mix of sympathy and gratitude.

"Thank you, Miss Smith. I'll go check on the others then. Here's the gauze. Just wrap it around the wound." The doctor handed the gauze to Sophia before taking his medical kit and heading outside William's tent.

"It's so late. Aren't you going to sleep?" William glanced at Sophia.

"Aren't you awake too?" Sophia replied as she started dressing William's wound. At this moment, William was shirtless. His strong physique made Sophia blush, but she managed to keep her composure.

Sophia carefully wrapped William's wounds with gauze.

"William, is it worth it for you to protect me so fiercely?" Sophia asked suddenly. This was a question she had wanted to ask since the night of the concert.

"Of course, it's worth it. I would give my life to protect you and ensure that no one captures you," William replied earnestly. After all, Sophia was still his fiancée, and until he called off the engagement, he wouldn't allow anyone to harm her.

Upon hearing his answer, Sophia was deeply moved, and her eyes became slightly teary.

"Are you protecting me just because it might impact the viewership of 'Wilderness Life'?" Sophia wanted to hear William say that he wasn't protecting her because of the show, but his response disappointed her once again.

"What do you think? 'Wilderness Life' is the first show I created after graduating from college. Naturally, I don't want to see it fail."

William continued to use "Wilderness Life" as a shield, but Sophia refused to give up and continued to question him.

"In that case, what's more important, the show or me?"

"You," William blurted out subconsciously, but as soon as he finished speaking, he realized what he said wasn't appropriate and could easily be misinterpreted. He wanted to rephrase it, but to his surprise, Sophia blushed and interrupted him.

"I understand."

"I mean..."

Sophia didn't give William a chance to explain and directly cut him off, blushing. "I understand your intentions, no need to explain."

William was at a loss for words. What did she understand? What did he mean?
