Chapter 335 Gathering of Talents
The elderly white haired man appeared to be quite old; yet his complexion was rosy, his gaze sharp, and his steps steady as he walked. His aura was calm and stable, resembling that of a young person, which surprised William.
"Sir," William bowed respectfully. After all, he was the one who had secretly informed William about the danger Sophia was in. Without his help, she might have been in the clutches of the Graham family by now, and the consequences would have been unimaginable.
"Mr. Brown, I never expected you to be so young!" The white-haired man also bowed to William and then introduced himself with a smile.
"I am Lionel, but people here call me Master Lionel. Mr. Brown, now that you've come to Ocean Guild, there's no need to be formal. Please come inside and have a seat."
"Great!!!" William glanced at the branches full of bear's paws, feeling tempted, yet he managaed to restrain himself and followed Lionel inside.
Lionel led William to an elegantly decorated living room, with numerous calligraphy and paintings hanging on the walls.
William took a seat as a guest, while Lionel sat in the host's position. After they both sat down, Arianna quietly brought two cups of tea.
"Mr. Brown, this tea is brewed from the natural spring water here, with added herbs. It's beneficial for your health. Please try it and see if it suits your taste," Lionel said politely.
"Is that so? Then I must give it a try!" William said with interest, lifting the cup of tea. Everything here seemed to be beneficial for training, and William couldn't help but anticipate the effect of this tea.
The tea was still a little hot, so William blew on it gently before taking a small sip.
As soon as the tea entered his mouth, he felt a refreshing minty sensation, but soon a sweet and sour taste spread across his taste buds. Just this one sip made the super energy inside William's body become restless once again.
"This tea is truly amazing." Unable to resist, William took a few more sips. Once the tea entered his stomach, the speed at which the super energy flowed within his body increased. After completing a cycle inside, his super energy increased significantly. It was indeed miraculous.
"How about it, Mr. Brown? Has the super energy in your body increased by a lot?" Lionel looked at William with a beaming smile.
"Indeed, it has increased significantly. Thank you for this tea, Master Lionel!" William was curious about this tea and had a vague sense that after drinking it, other parts of his body were expanding. This was what surprised him.
"The herbs in the tea can stimulate the body's circulation, so if you drink it regularly, not only can it increase the super energy inside your body, but it also has the effect of clearing your meridians," Lionel explained slowly.
"It truly is miraculous!" William couldn't help but exclaim.
m nodded.
"If Mr. Brown is willing, he can stay longer at Ocean Guild," Lionel directly suggested, while Arianna, who was standing on the side, became anxious upon hearing that the Master wanted William to stay for a few more days. This guy eats like a pig; he might end up devouring all the fruits on this mountain.
"In that case, thank you, Master Lionel. I have some free time lately, so I'll stay here for a few more days," William glanced at Arianna, who was secretly worried, and smiled faintly.
There's no need to hold back; it would be a disservice to myself if I don't stay longer in such a great place. Besides, William had a feeling that Master Lionel still had something to tell him.
Arianna became worried upon hearing that William wanted to stay longer.
The two chatted for a while, and then Lionel asked, "I wonder who Mr. Brown's teacher is. It's quite surprising for someone so young to have reached the level of a master."
"I haven't found a teacher yet. I am self-taught," William responded calmly. He spoke the truth; Dilma had not officially taken him as a disciple, and Beauvoir was just a registered mentor without a family affiliation. Strictly speaking, he currently didn't have a Master.
"Oh? You don't have a mentor?" Lionel was surprised. To achieve this level through self-teaching exceeded his expectations. Then, his eyes lit up, and he said, "Would Mr. Brown be willing to join Ocean Guild and become my disciple?"
Lionel expressed his thoughts, as the purpose of inviting William here was to recruit him into Ocean Guild, preferably as his disciple.
"I have already promised Dilma to become his disciple, so I cannot be your disciple," William declined. He wouldn't forget the favor Dilma did for him in unlocking his potential. However, he was curious about what Ocean Guild did and how Master Lionel knew about the Graham family planning to kidnap Sophia. Thus, he changed the subject and said, "Although I can't be your disciple, I can join you in a different capacity. I just don't know what Ocean Guild does."
Initially, Lionel felt a slight disappointment upon hearing William's rejection, but upon hearing the latter half of his sentence, a glimmer of hope arose in his heart.
"Ocean Guild is a gathering place for talents, primarily focusing on recruiting martial arts geniuses, with other fields as supportive roles. Those who can join Ocean Guild are undoubtedly geniuses of the current era," Lionel briefly introduced. After all, it was their first meeting, so he couldn't disclose all the details of Ocean Guild to William.
William nodded knowingly. However, he didn't believe that Ocean Guild was that simple. There must be other departments similar to an intelligence system for them to know such secretive information about the Graham family. Furthermore, Lionel seemed not to recognize William's true identity and only regarded him as a martial arts genius.
William wondered why they would reveal the news of Sophia's kidnapping to Mr. Brown. After some consideration; William decided to stay here for a few days. Firstly, he wanted to gain a deeper understanding of this mysterious Ocean Guild, and secondly, staying here would allow him to quickly enhance his own strength.
"What benefits would I gain if I join?" William asked tentatively. He wouldn't agree to join unless there were sufficient benefits.
"Once you join Ocean Guild, you'll never lack resources for your training, and they will all be top-notch resources in the world," Lionel said confidently, patting his chest.
It seemed that Lionel had great confidence in the resources related to martial arts training. However, William wanted more than just that. Therefore, he tilted his mouth and said, "I'll consider it!" He intended to leave them hanging for a while and make a decision after observing them.
