Chapter 362 An Unsightly Struggle
William completely took over Ocean Guild and relocated the Garden Villa there. The martial arts students usually trained in the mountains, while those with exceptional talent were selected to study at the Ocean Guild.
Eliza, as the youngest and most talented girl there, naturally received special treatment. Beauvoir personally taught her martial arts. She was liked by everyone, including Michelle, who had developed a fondness for this pretty and lovely little girl.
But today, William was going to introduce her to her relatives from Canada!
A farm near Euler Hill was the agreed-upon location.
By now, many members of the Hughes family from Canada had already arrived, each holding valuable gifts. Behind them were powerful bodyguards, some even armed with guns.
William drove to the farm with Eliza and held her small hand as they walked in.
As soon as William entered, the three people on the farm stood up and looked at them. When they saw Eliza, their eyes lit up.
"Eliza, it's so good to see you! Come over to me quickly." The second son of the Hughes family, Burgundy, spoke first. He appeared to be in his forties.
Seeing Burgundy step forward, the eldest brother of the Hughes family, Bertrand, welcomed Eliza as well, holding a set of adorable Barbie dolls in his hands.
"Eliza, do you remember me? I brought a set of your favorite Barbie dolls. Take a look and see if you like them," he said.
Eliza timidly hid behind William.
She didn't take the dolls. There was a hint of fear and nervousness in her big, watery eyes.
"You've scared her! Let me handle this!" Aunt Judith stepped forward with a smile, holding a crystal ball that emanated beautiful music.
"Eliza, do you know what this is? I brought your favorite music ball. Come here. Don't be afraid!"
Eliza's big eyes glanced at the music ball, revealing a hint of longing. But she quickly hid behind William again, afraid to come out, seemingly scared of her relatives and elders.
"All right, everyone, take a seat!" William said with a smile.
These relatives and elders seemed to be really good to Eliza, coming all this way to pick her up and even bringing gifts.
But William, who knew the reason behind it all, couldn't help but sneer. Everything they did was solely to become the next chairman of the Hughes family. How much of it was genuinely for Eliza's sake?
With William's invitation, everyone sat down, though their expressions were gloomy.
"Since Eliza was rescued by me, it is only right that I speak on her behalf," William said.
"Don't waste your breath. Here are five million dollars. As long as you hand Eliza over to me, this money is yours," Bertrand interjected impatiently, instructing his bodyguard to open a bag full of money on the table.
"Bertrand, are you anxious? Haven't you noticed that this gentleman still has something to say?" Burgundy said nonchalantly.
Judith cast a disdainful glance at William and said, "Your name is William, right? We are grateful that you saved our niece Eliza, but she is still a member of our family. She's my younger brother's only flesh and blood. So it is necessary for us to take her back. Of course, we won't forget your kindness."
As Judith spoke, she took out a check and a contract from her pocket and handed them to William.
"Here is a two-million-dollar check and a contract for 100% ownership of Long Island Entertainment. All of this is yours."
Judith must have investigated William before coming. She knew he had a certain level of fame in the film and television industry, so she wanted to win him over by offering him the entertainment company.
Before William could speak, Burgundy interrupted the deal and said, "Aren't you guys too stingy?"
How could he fall behind them? He took out a set of keys and a five-million-dollar check from his pocket and handed them to William.
"Here is a five-million-dollar check and the city center of Long Island. It's worth over twenty million dollars. As long as you give Eliza to me, all of this will be yours," he said.
Bertrand and Judith couldn't help but sneer.
"You are more outrageous than us."
"I'll add thirty million dollars more," Bertrand said with a grim face.
"Do you think this is an auction? Stop bidding," Judith scolded him. Then she turned to William and said, "I'll add another villa in the city center and a Ferrari for you."
Soon, the three of them started arguing.
William looked at the three of them fighting over Eliza and shook his head. He glanced at Eliza, who was hiding behind him. If he handed her over to them, they would definitely use her for their own gains.
"Stop arguing. Eliza won't go with any of you!" William said calmly. "Next month, I will personally take her to Canada to see her grandfather."
"What do you mean? Do you think we are offering too little?" Bertrand stood up in anger. He had a fiery temper, and he couldn't tolerate any opposition.
Burgundy and Judith also grew cold, as William's words clearly conflicted with their interests.
"It means nothing. I came here today just to let you know that I will personally take Eliza to see her grandfather, so you don't have to bother," William said indifferently, completely disregarding them.
"Son of a bitch! Do you want to die?" Burgundy said coldly. At the same time, a black-clad bodyguard behind him stood up, pulling out a gun and aiming it directly at William.
The situation suddenly became tense.
"I advise you to choose one of us. Otherwise, you won't be able to leave this farm today." Judith's tone also turned cold.
It seemed that the three of them had reached some kind of agreement.
"Hmm, you all are indeed arrogant. But I'll say it again. I will bring Eliza with me, and you can go back where you came from," William said, displeased.
"Bastard, do you want to die? Fine, I'll grant your wish," Burgundy said, and as soon as he finished speaking, the black-clad bodyguard fired a shot at William. They never hesitated to kill.
The bullet flew toward William at supersonic speed. The three people believed that William was definitely going to die. After this ignorant man died, they would discuss who would take Eliza.
However, William's power completely exceeded their imagination.
