Chapter 289 He Won't Come

Lillian, Gerald, and their ten companions carefully made their way to the mansion where Mr. Davis was hiding. The mansion didn't appear very large, but it was heavily guarded, indicating the presence of some dark secrets inside.

"Mr. Davis has built the mansion in such a secretive place. I wonder what secrets he's hiding," Lillian whispered.

"I guess we'll have to ask Joanna." Gerald couldn't figure it out either, since Mr. Davis was always discreet and secretive in everything he did.

"I'll tell you after you set fire to this place!" Joanna was nervous.

"We'll enter through the back door. Lillian, you take care of the two security guards outside." Gerald realized they couldn't charge in from the front, so they had to change their strategy and go through the back door.

At the back, there were two guards holding long knives, but they weren't very alert. They were smoking and chatting with each other.

"Leave it to me," Lillian said as she pulled out two Blood Stabs from her body. These were coated with a paralyzing nerve toxin, ensuring death upon impact.

After receiving guidance from William, Lillian had been diligently practicing throwing darts these past few days and had made some progress. Today, she would put it into real action.

Under the cover of darkness, two Blood Stabs flashing with a chilling glint flew through the air toward the two guards, who were busy smoking and chatting.

However, in the next second, a Blood Stab appeared in front of each of them. They realized their breathing suddenly became difficult, and then they fell straight to the ground, lifeless.

Gerald and Joanna were left dumbfounded. It was incredible!

"Let's go." Lillian was satisfied with her first practical performance. She quietly advanced toward the front with igniters in her hand. Her ten accomplices followed suit, each carrying an igniter as well.

When they approached the back door, it was Gerald's turn to take action.

"Quick, open this door." Lillian saw the password lock on the back door and hastily called Gerald over. He took out the lock-picking tools he always carried with him and bypassed the code skillfully, opening the back door.

The group quickly continued their infiltration.

The backyard was filled with rows of rooms, their contents unknown. Time was running out, so they couldn't afford to check inside.

"Set fire to all the rooms in the backyard. When they come to put out the fire, we'll go to the front yard and start another fire. That way, the entire estate will be ablaze!" Gerald issued his order immediately.

"Yes, let's move!" Lillian nodded, endorsing Gerald's plan.

She led the ten accomplices behind her and began dripping gasoline on the rooms in the backyard. She then took out lighters to ignite them one by one.

When they encountered patrolling guards, they eliminated them on the spot, denying them the chance to call for help.

Soon, the entire backyard was ablaze, the flames reaching the sky.

The guards immediately noticed the fire and called for others to come and put it out.

"It's on fire! Hurry, people!"

"Save the mansion!"

Upon hearing the voices, Gerald reminded them quickly, "Hurry, the security guards should be coming. Let's go to the front yard and start the fire there!"

Lillian and the others followed his instructions, retreating from the backyard and making their way to the front yard. At this time, most of the security guards in front had been sent to the backyard to put out the fire, so the defense here was weak.

Lillian led the group to break into the front yard, and several security guards who rushed forward were killed.

"Quickly open the door!" Lillian saw that the front door had a password lock too, so she had to seek Gerald's help once again. After some skillful manipulation with professional tools, Gerald cracked the password lock successfully, and the front door swung open.

"Pour gasoline on all the buildings in the front yard and set them on fire!" Upon entering, Lillian immediately gave the order to light the fire.

Soon, the front yard turned into a sea of flames.

Gerald and the others saw that the entire estate was burning, so they quickly retreated and ran quite a distance before catching their breath.

"Joanna, can you tell us what is hidden inside this mansion now?"

"Mr. Davis's lifelong wealth! There are many hidden treasures, various gold bars, rare antiques, and jewelry. There are countless valuable items inside. So once there is a fire or assault here, Mr. Davis will definitely come to the rescue because without this place, his wealth will shrink by at least 70%, and he may even face bankruptcy," Joanna explained breathlessly.

"What? We just burned money? No way! I have to go back and grab a few gold bars to make some profit!" Gerald exclaimed upon hearing that the mansion was filled with gold, silver, jewelry, and money. His heart ached at the thought.

He was still thinking about going back to grab some, but Lillian caught him.

"Going back now would be suicide. Mr. Davis's men are probably on their way," Lillian said and kicked Gerald in the butt, urging him to leave.

Gerald had a mournful expression on his face.

Meanwhile, Mr. Davis, who was rushing to support JUNE Club, received a phone call while sitting in his car. As soon as he picked up, his face turned pale.

"What did you say? Purple Grove mansion was attacked and set on fire?!"

Mr. Davis felt dizzy for a moment. This mansion was where he hid his wealth, so if it was attacked, he would sustain heavy losses.

"Everyone, let's go back to Purple Grove!" Mr. Davis immediately issued the order to go back and save his mansion. Compared to Howard, this mansion of wealth was more important to him. After all, without money, he could potentially face bankruptcy.

And in that case, no one would follow him anymore. His subordinates would betray him first, so he had to go and save his mansion.

While Mr. Davis turned around to save the mansion, Howard was still eagerly awaiting his assistance in the JUNE Club.

However, almost half an hour had passed, and Mr. Davis had not arrived yet. This made him somewhat restless.

"Why hasn't Mr. Davis come yet? He can't abandon me, right?" Howard thought, feeling startled. But he quickly dismissed the thought. Mr. Davis had no reason not to come and rescue him.

"Howard, it's almost been an hour. Why hasn't Mr. Davis shown up?" William said with a smile, as he had just received a message from Lillian, informing him that Purple Grove had already been set on fire, and Mr. Davis should be rushing there. He felt reassured.

"Why are you in such a hurry? I still have time!" Howard called Mr. Davis again, but the call was hung up immediately, followed by a text message from him.

After reading the message from Mr. Davis, Howard's face was filled with despair.
