Chapter 307 Watch How I Retrieve the Night Pearl

On the bounty list, the reward for Mr. Brown's identity amounted to a staggering ten billion dollars, ranking ninth on the list. This truly caught William by surprise. Only a few families worldwide could offer such a high price.

"Who could possibly want both Sophia's and my life so badly? They are willing to pay such a high price. It seems I need to investigate thoroughly. I can't wait passively anymore," William pondered, furrowing his brows.

He then looked at the short-haired female assassin and coldly inquired, "What's your name? Can you help me find information about the employer behind this?"

"I'm Celeste. Us ordinary assassins don't have the authority to access the employer's information, but our organization's superiors should know about these customers," Celeste truthfully replied. She dared not lie, as her life was in William's hands.

William nodded, satisfied with the assassin's attitude. After all, she was just an ordinary assassin, so it was impossible for her to obtain the employer's information.

"Then how did you know that Sophia lives here?" William continued to question. Sophia's residence here was a secret that no outsiders should know, except for some influential families.

"The employer provided it," Celeste responded.

Upon hearing this, William turned to Sophia and asked, "Sophia, did you tell anyone about the address here?"

"No, ever since I moved here, I haven't mentioned the address to anyone, not even my parents. They have no idea where I live," Sophia shook her head.

Kylie also denied having shared this information, as she highly valued Sophia's privacy and was afraid of being stalked by paparazzi. Therefore, William believed that Kylie would not reveal Sophia's whereabouts.

Therefore, the only possibility of the secret being leaked was Fiona.

"Fiona, have you mentioned to anyone that Sophia lives here?" William shifted his gaze to Fiona. She seemed to sense the gravity of the situation and after thinking hard, she said, "I think Malcolm asked me a few days ago, and without much thought, I told him."

"Mal..."

"Colm? William furrowed his brow, seemingly uncovering some clues.

"Malcolm is my cousin, my uncle's son," Sophia explained.

Kylie and Fiona glanced at each other, seemingly understanding William's implications.

"Malcolm, he wouldn't do something like this, right?" They couldn't believe Malcolm would send an assassin to kill Sophia, their own family member. There was no reason to send someone to kill their cousin.

"He wouldn't, but his father might," William thought of a fishing ploy and immediately suggested to Fiona, "Fiona, invite Malcolm to come over to Long Island. We can test him then."

"Alright," Fiona agreed, feeling uneasy as she went back upstairs. She feared her unintentional words had almost caused a disaster.

After giving the instructions, William took Celeste to the villa where Beauvoir resided. Since the two places were not far apart, he left Celeste there, under the watchful eyes of Beauvoir, Baca, and Sharon.

With these experts present, the assassin would have no chance to escape. William thought it would be best to keep Celeste as she would prove to be useful.

Furthermore, William moved Sophia to another villa on the opposite side to prevent any further attacks or assassination attempts against her.

In the evening, Antony sent a message regarding the South District's Bell family.

After the fortune-teller mentioned the Bell family's Night Pearl, William had instructed Antony to investigate the Bell family and the ancient Night Pearl in their possession.

"I didn't expect the Bell family's influence to be so extensive, nor did I expect that the Night Pearl is their family heirloom." William lay on the sofa, looking through the information Antony had provided. He furrowed his brow, knowing that this matter would not be easy to handle.

"Why would the fortune-teller want the Bell family's heirloom?" William couldn't fathom the fortune-teller's intentions.

"If it really is a family heirloom, no matter how much money one offers, they wouldn't sell it. How can we obtain it then?" William pondered.

The Bell family held nearly forty percent of the industry share in the South District, with several allied families. It was unrealistic to forcefully take their family heirloom from such a prestigious and wealthy family.

Thus, he would have to outsmart them. Figuring out how to do it was now a technical challenge for William.

As William lay there staring at the Bell family's information, his eyes suddenly lit up.

"The heir of the Bell family, Callum, could be the breakthrough," William smirked.

Callum was a typical rich second generation, obsessed with gambling and often seen partying with beautiful women in underground casinos.

Since this underground casino was owned by the Bell family, Callum took advantage of it without restraint.

"It seems I have to go and experience the underground casino in the South district," William thought, immediately preparing to take action.

However, for Sophia's safety, William had sent Sharon to replace him as Sophia's personal guardian. If there was any danger, Beauvoir was also staying in the nearby villa, so there shouldn't be any major issues.

Taking advantage of the cover of night, William drove to the underground casino in the South district. With less than a week left until the end of the month, he had to act quickly to obtain the Night Pearl.

William entered the casino through the main entrance and took the elevator straight to the underground floor.

As soon as he got off the elevator, he saw a group of people beating up a frail young man, blood flowing from his head, clearly in a miserable state.

The thugs watching the scene cursed while the men continued to beat him.

"You dared to come here without repaying your debt. Since you don't have the money, we'll take your sister as collateral if you haven't paid the one million dollars to Mr. Bell by tomorrow."

After the thugs finished their beating, they left, leaving the weak man lying on the ground like a dog.

Shaking his head, William had no intention of getting involved in this trivial matter. Such incidents were common in the casino, and he came here to find Callum for a gamble.

Now that he had reached the Grandmaster level, William's senses were remarkable. He should have no problem discerning the size of the dice, so he planned to gamble with Callum here while setting him up.
