Antony acted swiftly and managed to convince Gerardo Parker within two days. However, Gerardo refused to hold the reception in his name, as it would raise suspicion. He only agreed to attend the reception.
Helpless, Antony had to host the reception in his own name. Although this reduced its effectiveness slightly, having Gerardo himself attend raised the event's status.
After settling things with Gerardo, Antony began sending out invitations. CC Alliance now controlled 60% of the industries in New York, giving Rodrigo even more authority than Antony at his peak. The taste of wielding such power was making him increasingly arrogant.
"Antony hosted a party at YJ Club, inviting prominent families and corporation CEOs from all over New York. Among the guests were Gerardo, Steve, the General Manager of YJ Club, and a heavyweight figure that you would never guess," Victor said, sounding restless.
"What heavyweight figure? In New York, who could be more prestigious than Dorian?" Rodrigo sneered slightly, having envisioned his future with the Walsh family, walking out of New York and taking the Watson family's financial empire to the entire nation, even the world. Rodrigo believed he would eventually make it onto the Forbes list and compete with those corporate giants.
"It's Mr. Brown, the sole heir of the Brown family," Victor said, almost trembling.
"Which Mr. Brown? The one from that second-rate noble family in the South district? I don't care about him even if he's here," Rodrigo replied dismissively, assuming it was the Brown family from the second-rate noble family in New York's South district.
"It's the Brown family from the world's top-ranking nobility, and the patriarch is Philippe," Victor reminded him once again.
"What? The Brown family from the world's top-ranking nobility?" Rodrigo couldn't believe it. How could the heir of such a prestigious family come to New York? It went against all common sense and logic.
"Are you sure about this? Don't talk nonsense. The Brown family from the world's top-ranking nobility. Antony can invite even them. What importance does he hold?" Rodrigo couldn't sit still any longer. He stood up from his chair. If this was true, even the Walsh family from Canada wouldn't be able to suppress him.
Although the Walsh family is a prominent name on the domestic family rankings, ranking tenth, they are simply not in the same league as the Brown family.
"I'm not sure at the moment, but that's what Antony's invitation letter says. If he manages to invite Mr. Parker, Steve, and Mr. Brown, Antony's influence will skyrocket. Manuel had just learned this news as well, and he believed that Antony was bluffing. How could he possibly invite the world-renowned Mr. Brown to his party?
It was obvious that this was false publicity for his party.
"What else do we need to prepare?" Rodrigo and Victor looked at Manuel at the same time, filled with doubt.
"I intend to infiltrate Antony's party in secret and expose his conspiracy. So, I need you to help me obtain an invitation to Antony's party," Manuel had made up his mind. Antony's counterattack this time was quite fierce. If they couldn't ruin his party, it might trigger a chain reaction. CC Alliance could potentially collapse, and the Watson family would also face decline or even bankruptcy. This was something he couldn't imagine, nor was he willing to see.
"Alright, sir. I will arrange for the invitation to Antony's party and notify the alliance members not to attend," Victor quickly replied before rushing out. These two matters were crucial to the survival of the Watson family.
