Chapter 133 Tit for Tat

After Michelle closed the door, she couldn't help but feel startled. She never expected that Samuel, whom her dad trusted so much, would be bought by Bence. Even more despicable was the fact that he helped deceive her.

If William hadn't identified their tricks in time, the consequences would have been unimaginable! Who knew how much trouble a piece of paper signed by her could cause, especially since she now represented her father and the entire company.

"Why would you betray my dad when he trusts you so much?" Michelle was genuinely angry at this moment.

"What nonsense are you spouting? How could I betray the chairman? This white paper is a printing error, it's a complete misunderstanding. I am absolutely loyal to the chairman," Samuel tried to explain, hoping to deceive them further.

There was no concrete evidence and a piece of paper couldn't prove much. As long as he firmly clung to the excuse of a printing error, what could these two young people do to him?

But he underestimated William, who was not an ordinary young man.

"I will make you tell the truth!" William's lips curled into a slight smile as he grabbed Samuel and headed toward the secret room Noad had set up. He found that besides hiding liquor, it was also a suitable place for intense interrogation.

There was no need to worry about being eavesdropped by others in the company. After all, even Samuel had been bought by Bence. If the news leaked, it would alert Bence. Therefore, interrogating in the secret room was the most appropriate choice.

"Where are you taking me? Stop it!" Samuel was dragged by William, feeling great fear and desperately wanting to resist, but he was stunned to see that William's strength was astonishing. No matter how he struggled, he couldn't break free, which made him even more frightened.

"Don't move! If you move, I'll ruin you!" William threatened coldly.

"Don't be arrogant, if you dare touch me..." Samuel couldn't finish his sentence when William turned around and slapped him hard on the face. "Stop babbling, or I'll really ruin you."

With that, William exerted a little force on Samuel's shoulder, causing him to turn pale with fear. He didn't dare to speak again.

Although William's methods were rough, they were effective.

"Michelle, you stay outside! Don't let anyone get close to here." William wanted absolute secrecy. He wanted to counterattack Bence by taking advantage of this opportunity, so he couldn't let him get wind of it in advance.

"Alright!" Michelle nodded and stood guard outside for William.

After dragging Samuel into the secret room, William spoke again with a cold tone, "Tell me, who ordered you to do it?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." Samuel still maintained a calm facade.

"Fine, we'll see how stubborn you can be later," William said as he took out a small knife from his pocket. It was something he always carried with him for life-or-death situations, but he hadn't expected to use it now.

"What... What do you want to do?" Samuel became nervous at the sight of William holding the knife, his face turning pale once again.

"What else can I do? I'll cut off your organs," William said coldly with a smirk.

"Do you realize that's a crime?" Samuel trembled with fear. This person was too ruthless.

"See if I dare!" William said, plunging the knife directly toward Samuel's groin. Samuel was scared and wanted to escape but was firmly suppressed by William. If that knife hit its mark, he would be in serious trouble.

"I'll talk, I'll talk, please stop!" Samuel's body trembled with fear. This person was too brutal!

The small knife had just pierced his pants. Luckily, he begged for mercy in time. Otherwise, the knife would have really gone through. Samuel shuddered at the thought.

"Speak up then! If you cooperate and help me with it, maybe I'll reward you more than what you got from Bence," William smiled faintly. It turned out that intimidating a man was so simple.

William felt he had come up with a practical way to force someone. If he had known earlier, he would have used it on that thug leader last night. He probably would have confessed on the spot.

"Patrick made me do it. He came to my office just now and said he needed a signature from Miss on a blank paper. I have no idea what he needed it for." Samuel shook his head repeatedly.

William glanced at him and felt that his words were mostly true.

"Do you know who Patrick is?" William asked with skepticism.

"Patrick is Bence's assistant," Samuel responded truthfully.

"It seems like Bence is behind all this!" William furrowed his brow. Bence was indeed clever and skilled in manipulation. Michelle's father had managed to keep him in check all these years, which was quite impressive.

No wonder Noad was worried that if he wasn't at the company for a day, something big would happen. He must have known that Bence couldn't be trusted. While Noad personally kept him in line, nothing major happened. But once Noad was absent, Bence began causing trouble again.

The signed blank paper was proof of it all. Luckily, William had discovered it in time. Otherwise, Bence might have implicated both William and Michelle without their knowledge.

"Now that I've said everything, can you let me go?" Samuel nervously pleaded, fear evident in his eyes as he looked at William.

"I can let you go, but you have to do something for me. Otherwise, I'll have Michelle fire you immediately. Of course, if you perform well, I'll reward you generously," William said as he took out a checkbook from his pocket and wrote a check for a hundred thousand dollars, tearing it out and handing it to Samuel.

Samuel looked at the check for a hundred thousand dollars and was instantly shocked. He recognized this check. It was from the Morongo Foundation.

"You, you're William?" Samuel had seen the Chairman's ten million dollar check before, and it bore William's signature. He had even accompanied Noad to the bank to authenticate it. This revealed that William's background was not simple at all!

"What? Do you know me?" William was also puzzled. Had he met Samuel before?

"Did you give the Chairman a ten million dollar check before?" Samuel asked nervously.

"Yeah, so what?" William hadn't expected Samuel to know about the ten million dollar check he had given Noad.

"I saw this ten million dollar check from the Chairman." Samuel suddenly regretted his actions.

As Samuel realized the gravity of the situation, he began to feel terrified. Fortunately, he could make amends. He hurriedly returned the hundred-thousand-dollar check to William.

"Mr. Brown, feel free to give me any orders. I was foolish before, but now I hope to make amends!" Samuel wiped the sweat off his forehead. If he earned William's animosity, he would not only lose his job but also his life.

"Oh?" William suddenly furrowed his brow. How did this guy suddenly become so obedient? "Keep the hundred thousand dollars. If you dare to deceive me, losing your job won't be the only consequence," William threatened, his voice icy cold.

"Mr. Brown, I dare not withhold any information! I swear to God, I am sincerely repentant and willing to make amends," Samuel suddenly swore, frightened by William's background.

"Very well. If that's the case, I want you to do something similar. Get him to sign his name on a blank piece of paper. Do you think you can do it?" William thought of dealing with Bence's shares in the same way. Perhaps he could acquire them at a very low cost using this method.

"That's easy. Bence has been following the construction of the East district's new hotel recently. He bribed me to do some accounting for him, so he can receive kickbacks. I'll add an extra blank page to the quotation and get him to sign it," Samuel replied after thinking for a moment.

"Good, go and take action!" William nodded. He then had Michelle, who was guarding outside the secret room, bring a piece of paper and a pen and handed them to Samuel.

"On this piece of paper, imitate Michelle's handwriting and sign 'Michelle' for me." William did this to put Bence at ease and also to give Samuel a warning. The crime of forging a signature could result in imprisonment.

"Understood, Mr. Brown." Samuel did not hesitate and immediately did as he was told. At this point, he no longer dared to offend or hesitate.

William nodded, satisfied with Samuel's attitude. He also learned from him that Bence was involved in kickbacks, which sparked another thought in his mind.
