Chapter 18 Michelle's Confession
Michelle was a goddess in the hearts of the male classmates.
Her arrival caused everyone's gazes to converge on her. William was no exception, and his gaze turned to her as well.
‘I want to see what the goddess I haven't seen in four years looks like now.’
A beautiful woman came walking not far away, with long black hair casually draped over her shoulders. She wore a simple white dress and a thin white shawl, exuding an elegant and sensitive aura.
The Michelle of today had gained a hint of mature beauty compared to four years ago.
The male classmates at the venue stared in a daze. After four years, their goddess had become even more beautiful and captivating.
"Sorry, everyone. I got caught in traffic on the way here, so I'll punish myself with alcohol." Michelle gracefully walked up to the beverage table and raised her glass, taking sips one after another.
Soon, a crowd gathered around her. Some wanted to get close to her, others wanted to talk about how she had spent the past four years abroad, and some just wanted her latest contact information.
There were so many people surrounding Michelle that she felt a little overwhelmed, but she still greeted every classmate with a friendly smile.
Meanwhile, William sat in another chair, quietly drinking water as he watched them. As Liam stood next to him, he became a little anxious when he saw Richard enthusiastically trying to please Michelle, and noticed William's indifference.
"Why don't you go say hello to Michelle, William? After all, you two had a good relationship before. Maybe you can reconnect." Liam couldn't help but speak up.
"There’s no way we can reconnect. I just wanted to see how she's been doing these past four years. Now that I’ve seen her, she seems to be doing well, and that puts my mind at ease." William smiled faintly. He had only come here to see Michelle, whom he hadn't seen in four years, especially since he already had a fiancée. It was impossible to rekindle any past romance with Michelle.
"Let's go! We should head back now." William saw that Michelle was doing fine and planned to leave, but Liam grew anxious.
"You haven't even talked to her yet, and you want to leave? At least get her contact information!" Liam was genuinely worried for William. In his opinion, Michelle was the best candidate to be William's girlfriend.
William didn't respond but stood up, ready to leave. But at that moment, Michelle walked over to see him.
"William, it's been so long." Michelle's smile was warm and gentle, and her gorgeous face was still captivating.
"It has been a while. Have you been doing well during those four years abroad?" William thought for a moment and finally voiced the question he wanted to ask the most.
"I've been doing fine. And what about you? I just heard from our classmates that you have a Ferrari and a Rolls-Royce now. You must be doing well!" Michelle teased.
"I’m alright. I’m relieved to hear that you're doing fine. I'll head back now," William said, thinking that if he stayed with Michelle for too long, he would find it difficult to leave.
"William!" Michelle suddenly grabbed his arm.
Michelle, with a hint of longing in her question, asked, "Are you still mad at me?"
Four years ago, she had chosen to study abroad without saying goodbye. Although William had been a little disappointed, they had not been in a romantic relationship at the time, so there wasn't much to be angry about.
"You're overthinking things. I'm just a little tired and want to go back to rest." William tried to find an excuse to leave, but Michelle held onto his hand tightly.
"You’re the first person I wanted to see when I came back. Now that you’re single again, we can start over." Michelle's words left everyone present speechless. She was practically confessing her feelings to William.
Richard's expression turned sour when he saw that. After all, he had been enamored with Michelle for several years.
The other male classmates also looked at William with envy, jealousy, and hatred.
"Some things, once missed, can't be retrieved. We can't go back." William forced a bitter smile. It had been four years, but he still had some feelings for Michelle. Otherwise, he wouldn't have waited until now just to see her once. But the problem now was that he already had a fiancée, and he couldn't accept Michelle in any case.
William's answer surprised everyone even more. He had actually rejected the goddess's confession. That was quite impressive!
On the other hand, Richard breathed a sigh of relief. This meant he still had a chance.
Even Michelle was stunned. William had rejected the confession she had prepared just like that. Suddenly, she felt a little lost, but she wasn't willing to give up.
"I don't believe it. You pursued me back then. How could you just let go like this? I'll be waiting for you at our old spot at eight o'clock tonight. I'll tell you the truth behind my departure, and then you can decide," Michelle said.
William was momentarily taken aback. Could there have been some hidden reason behind her sudden departure in the past? As he thought about it, William agreed to meet her.
