Chapter 141 Completely Surrendering

Antony acted swiftly and immediately sent people to carry out William's orders that evening.

The main industries of the Lanner family were concentrated in department stores, shopping malls, and other related fields. These industries all had some degree of safety hazards, and even if there weren't any, people were dispatched to create some safety issues.

Eventually, reports were made, and the following day, most of the Lanner family's supermarkets and shopping malls received closure notices.

The scene was sealed off, and customers couldn't enter. Normal operations were completely disrupted.

Theodore, the chairman of Lanner Group, received dozens of phone calls that morning in his office, all regarding the closure of their subsidiary industries. He was instantly filled with anger.

"What's going on? How did 70% of our industries receive closure notices overnight? Find out what's happening."

"It's because someone reported safety hazards in our department stores and shopping malls, which led to the widespread closures," Theodore's assistant replied cautiously.

"Someone is targeting the Lanner family!" Theodore furrowed his brows and started to think about which influential figure he might have offended recently. Shutting down 70% of their industries overnight wasn't something an average person could achieve.

But despite thinking for a long time, Theodore remained puzzled. He had even had dinner and drinks with leaders from the relevant departments yesterday. He couldn't have offended them. Moreover, those people didn't have that capability.

"Who could be targeting us?" Just when Theodore was at a loss, the phone in his chairman's office rang.

Instinctively, Theodore answered the call, and after listening to the content, he instantly understood what was going on. He slammed the table in anger and shouted, "Bring that bastard Bence to me."

"Alright, I'll handle it immediately." The assistant had never seen the chairman so angry before, and his face turned pale.

An hour later, Bence was abruptly woken up from his sleep by someone. He had a bad mood last night and had drunk quite a bit, so he had been sleeping with his head down until now, unaware of what had happened to the Lanner family.

Nervously, he entered his father's office. Although Theodore was his father, he was a serious person, and Bence, like his other siblings, was afraid of him.

"Dad, you called for me, is there something wrong?"

"You bastard, do you want us to go bankrupt?" Theodore said as he walked up, delivering a slap across Bence's face. The impact was so strong that his face immediately swelled up, indicating the force behind that slap.

"Dad, why did you hit me?" Bence seemed puzzled, but that slap managed to sober him up from the lingering alcohol of last night.

"And you're asking why I hit you? You've almost destroyed the Lanner family," Theodore roared angrily, while Bence remained clueless.

It wasn't until his assistant whispered a reminder by his side.

"Bence, this morning someone reported safety hazards in our department stores and shopping malls. 70% of the shops have been sealed off, and we are forced to shut down and rectify the issues."

"What? How is that possible?" Bence was also shocked to hear this. It was evident that someone was targeting the Lanner family, and this person's background was incredibly powerful. They managed to coordinate with the relevant departments to directly shut down the Lanner family's industries.

"Who did this? Have you investigated?" Bence couldn't help but ask once he realized.

"You're asking who did this? I'm asking you, who have you offended?" Theodore cursed angrily.

"Who have I offended? How could I offend someone with such a powerful background? I wouldn't even have the chance to hold onto their leg for support." As Bence spoke, he suddenly remembered a person, a poor man.

Could it be William? It shouldn't be possible. He was just a bastard who survived by relying on women. He couldn't possibly have this much power.

However, Bence's speculation was confirmed by his father's next words.

"That important person has already called and told you to go and beg for forgiveness from a person named William. You have to settle this matter before the sun sets, or else you can forget about being a member of our family." Theodore laid down his ultimatum.

By offending such an influential figure, he couldn't help but be ruthless.

"What? Begging him for forgiveness on my knees?" Bence was shocked. William's words from last night had come true, which not only surprised him but also left him in awe.

Who was this person, and what was his identity? How could he cause 70% of the Lanner family's industries to shut down overnight?

"You have to settle this before the sun sets, or else you won't be a part of our family." Theodore emphasized once again.

Bence suddenly felt weak, his eyes filled with despair. Without the protection of the Lanner family, he was nothing. At this moment, the only path he could take was to kneel down and beg for William's forgiveness.

At this very moment, William was inspecting the construction site of his new hotel. There wasn't much to inspect, as the newly appointed construction manager seemed competent, leaving them with little to worry about.

Suddenly, he received a call from an unfamiliar number, and upon seeing it, William had a faint smile on his lips as he answered the call.

"William, where are you? I want to meet you."

"At the hotel next to the construction site, in the same VIP suite as before. I'll be waiting for you!" William smiled. "Finally, you've come to beg me. But if you want my forgiveness, you'll have to pay a price and learn that you can't afford to offend me," William thought.

After hanging up the phone, William grabbed a few contracts that were ready and headed toward the hotel from yesterday.

By noon, a disheveled Bence finally arrived at the VIP suite. William, who was leisurely enjoying his lunch, glanced at Bence's gloomy face and casually said, "Bence, you're here."

"William, I admit defeat this time. I beg you to spare the Lanner family! I promise I won't take any revenge against Wilson's Hotel in the future," Bence pleaded as soon as he entered.

"I told you to come and beg me on your knees yesterday, but you're standing right now. It seems you lack sincerity," William smirked.

Hesitating for a moment, Bence realized that compared to his family, his pride meant nothing.

He suddenly dropped to his knees. He had no other choice. William was someone he couldn't afford to offend.

"Mr. Brown, I was wrong. I beg you to spare the Lanner family," Bence pleaded, his mouth curling into a cold smile.

How could William let Bence off so easily? He took out three contracts and handed them to Bence.

"These are the agreements for the transfer of ownership for three properties under your name. Once you've signed them, we'll settle our debts, and the Lanner family's properties will return to normal."

"Fine, I'll sign." Bence had no choice but to sign. Otherwise, he would face even greater losses.

Bence took the three contracts and a pen, and swiftly signed his name. This time, it wasn't a deceitful act on a blank paper; it was a willing acceptance.

After signing, Bence suddenly collapsed on the ground, his eyes empty. The loss of more than half his assets left him in despair.

"Well, I treated you to this meal. Enjoy it," William said, putting away the three agreements. Now, he had finally dealt with Bence.
