Chapter 272 Let's See Who Wins

Table eight was occupied by prominent figures in the business world, including Karson. There were a total of six people, and the other seats were empty.

William took Sophia's hand and sat confidently at table eight, instantly catching the attention of the six people present, including Karson.

"Oh, is this Sophia?" Everyone recognized Sophia immediately, overlooking William. After all, she was a famous celebrity. She was seen frequently on TV and the internet, so it wasn't surprising that the business elites in the room recognized her.

Meanwhile, William seemed practically invisible.

"Hello, everyone," Sophia greeted them. Coming from a prestigious background, she was used to such situations.

Karson's gaze, however, remained fixed on Sophia.

Suddenly, a cloud seemed to darken over William.

"How do you have time to sit here with us?" Karson asked, secretly plotting how to capture Sophia.

He couldn't explain his failures to headquarters. But now, if he could catch Sophia, who had come knocking at their door, everything would be resolved.

"I came with William. I don't have the same status as all of you to sit together," Sophia replied. The people at table number 8 were influential figures, and Sophia didn't dare to sit on par with them.

"Oh? William?" Everyone at the table, including Karson, turned their gaze toward William. With a slight upward curl of his mouth, William placed his golden VIP invitation on the table. The people at the table were all shocked when they saw it.

"This is a VIP invitation. I didn't expect Mr. William to have such an impressive identity at such a young age!" The middle-aged man sitting next to William started a conversation immediately. He was from the Lanner family, a premier noble family from Long Island, and he held many industries.

The others also greeted William eagerly, completely contrasting the cold treatment from table 38 earlier.

"William, is it? I propose a toast to you. Shall we have a meal together after the party ends?" Karson lifted his glass toward William, but his words clearly implied that he would find someone to deal with him later.

"I will definitely come if you're treating." After pouring himself a glass of wine, William raised it in the air, toasting him from a distance.

Karson nodded, admiring William's courage.

The others at the table started chatting about various topics. Meanwhile, in between conversations, Karson used his phone to make arrangements, thinking about how to kill William and capture Sophia. How could he possibly let such an opportunity slip by?

"Playing with your phone all the time is boring. Let's have a drink!" William guessed what Karson was up to. He toasted him repeatedly, not to get him drunk, but to get him to go to the restroom. That way, he would have a chance to act.

"Mr. Brown, I need to use the restroom." Karson stood up and walked toward the restroom.

William took a deep breath, knowing that the opportunity had finally arrived, and promptly followed behind.

Karson, who was walking ahead, noticed that William was following him. A smirk appeared on his face.

"Bastard, you took the bait! You thought you could get me drunk? How naive!"

Karson walked faster, and William caught up quickly. However, when they passed by the restroom, Karson didn't go in. Instead, he walked straight toward the stairs.

"This guy is trying to lure me!" William furrowed his brows. He realized that Karson knew he would follow him, so he intentionally led him there.

William wasn't a fool. Karson clearly wanted to trap him.

"I'd like to see what tricks you have up your sleeve."

William smirked. If Karson had his plans, then William had his own too. He took out his phone and called Ralph to have the security guards follow him.

He instructed the guards to avoid being detected and use the surveillance cameras to track Karson.

"Very well, sir. I'll handle it right away. If needed, I can call someone to deal with Karson immediately," Ralph's voice came through the phone.

"It's fine, I can handle it myself." William nodded. He intended to deal with Karson personally.

Karson continued down the stairs from the eighth floor, with William following closely behind.

"This guy really fell for it. He's actually following me alone. Good! You're going to die soon." Karson sneered inwardly.

While chatting at the table earlier, he had contacted Larry, a boss from the East district underworld, via his phone. Larry had more than a hundred subordinates. Karson paid him a lot of money to come and kill William.

Once William was dead, Sophia, who had no one to protect her, would be easy to capture.

William had already guessed Karson's intentions, but he had no idea where he was being led or what awaited him.

"Could Karson be leading me to the underground parking lot?" William wondered.

William's guess was correct. Karson was indeed leading him to the underground parking lot, specifically the second basement level.

When they turned a corner, William suddenly realized that Karson had disappeared. He took a few steps forward and found himself facing a dead end, with Karson standing in the corner.

"William, do you really have to follow me even when I go to the restroom?" Karson toyed with the ring on his finger, a smirk playing at the corner of his mouth.

"Karson, I followed you this time to take your life," William said coldly. He then reached for a short knife, emitting a hint of killing intent.

"William, young people are truly impulsive! Turn around and look behind you. Do you still think you can kill me? You're too naive," Karson said arrogantly.

When William turned around, he was surprised to see over a hundred thugs behind him, all holding long knives. Leading them was a man with long hair.

"I never expected you would ambush me with so many people here. Truly surprising!" William wasn't afraid at all. He had been followed by the security guards from the YC Hotel, and they would catch up soon.

"Yes, I didn't expect to run into you and Sophia here. Haha!" Karson laughed like a maniac. He didn't expect to encounter Sophia, a fat lamb to slaughter, and William, his enemy, while attending a charity event.

"Don't laugh too smugly. He who laughs last, laughs best!" William smirked.

"Well, I forgot to introduce him to you. The person behind you is Larry, the silent killer. Enjoy his torment!" Karson laughed maniacally again.

"Larry?" William looked at the slightly effeminate man and furrowed his brow. He was one of the people who took a share in Lillian's father's business!

He had killed her older brother. He can be captured and handed over to Lillian for handling!

Suddenly, a loud noise of chaotic footsteps came from the stairs.

Soon, several security guards emerged from the stairwell and surrounded them. They all carried electric batons. The one leading them was a tall man in a tight black outfit, showing steady steps and obvious mastery.

Seeing so many security guards appear all at once, Karson's face changed slightly.

"Do you still think you can laugh now?" William asked calmly.

As he spoke, William took out a Blood Stab from his pocket. Karson's face immediately turned ugly, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead.
