Chapter 327 Countering the Opponent
Malcolm's hands were tied behind his back, his eyes blindfolded with a black cloth. He trembled and cowered in the corner, with two people watching him closely.
"Who are you? Why are you kidnapping me? Do you know who I am?" Malcolm shouted loudly. He had never expected someone to be waiting for him at the Long Island airport. This unexpected turn of events filled him with both surprise and fear.
Without Grandpa Taylor by his side, he was completely helpless against this situation.
In response, a slap landed on his face, accompanied by a scolding.
"Shut up! Or I'll kill you." One of the security guards grew annoyed and delivered a slap to his face, while also gagging him with a cloth.
Malcolm could only make helpless whimpering sounds, his fear growing deeper.
After escorting Sophia back to the Garden Villa, William went straight to the secluded clubhouse where Malcolm was being held.
As soon as he entered, Antony respectfully greeted him at the door.
"Sir, we have captured that guy you wanted at the airport. He is currently locked in a secret room," Antony said, leading William straight to the room.
"Well, good job! You all did well," William nodded, satisfied with Antony's efficiency. With Malcolm captured, the situation between him and Sophia might not be exposed, and he might even be able to counter his opponent.
Upon entering the secret room, William walked in and dismissed everyone inside. He didn't want anyone to overhear his conversation with Malcolm.
Removing the cloth from Malcolm's mouth and uncovering his blindfold, William said, "Now, let's have a chat."
After a while, William found a chair and sat leisurely across from him.
"Malcolm, didn't expect it to be me, huh?" William said in a relaxed manner.
"William, it's you. How are you here? You're not dead yet?" Malcolm was shocked to see William alive and well in front of him, but quickly figured out what had happened.
"How about that? Surprised, huh? Not only did I not die, but I also brought you back," William said casually.
"William, what do you want?" Malcolm didn't dare to be arrogant in front of William at this moment. After all, his life was in William's hands, and he couldn't afford to provoke him.
"I want to know why you kidnapped Sophia," William said with a hint of coldness. Although he already had suspicions and speculations in his heart, he still wanted confirmation from Malcolm.
"I didn't kidnap her. I was just trying to persuade her to go back and reunite with her parents. It was all out of good intentions. You misunderstood me," Malcolm tried to defend himself, but William slapped him directly across the face, leaving an instant red and swollen mark.
Malcolm wanted to curse, but the words swallowed back in his mouth, afraid of angering William. A hint of unwillingness and anger flashed in his eyes, but more than that, he felt nervous and scared.
"Do you think I'm stupid? You even tried to use poison on her. Let me tell you, if you don't confess everything clearly today, I'll immediately cut off your genitals and make you incapable of touching any woman again," William threatened with a smile at the corner of his mouth.
For someone like Malcolm, this kind of threat was most effective. Indeed, Malcolm was immediately frightened.
"William, don't go too far. After all, I'm Sophia's cousin. If you harm me; the Smith family won't let you get away with it," Malcolm tried his last struggle, attempting to use his status to exert pressure.
However, William calmly said, "I'll count to three, and if you don't confess everything honestly, you can look forward to becoming a eunuch!" As he spoke, William took out a small knife from his body, trying to scare him with it.
Malcolm was terrified when he saw the gleaming knife and instinctively recoiled.
"1." William paid no attention to him and started counting.
Malcolm's eyes showed hesitation and struggle.
"2." William raised another finger while counting, his voice increasing slightly, hoping to intimidate Malcolm.
Clearly, Malcolm's spirit trembled. William was a powerful man who even managed to manipulate Grandpa Taylor. Faced with him, Malcolm had no resistance.
"3." William tightened his grip on the small knife, crouched down, and frightened Malcolm, who quickly begged for mercy.
"I submit, I submit, don't lay a hand on me."
In the end, Malcolm had no choice but to submit.
"Why didn't you say so earlier? Hurry up and tell me, who ordered you to come and kidnap Sophia." William didn't put away the small knife, instead crouching in front of him, waving that shining little knife before Malcolm's eyes.
Terrified, his face turned pale and his voice trembled.
"It was the Graham family who approached my father for cooperation. They said they wanted Sophia to marry into the Brown family, so that my father could never become the chairman of the Smith family. That's why they resorted to this strategy, hoping to kidnap or kill Sophia."
"Exactly as I suspected!" William thought to himself. He had guessed that it was an inside job by someone from the Smith family collaborating with the Graham family, and it turned out to be just as he had expected.
"And was it your doing to put Sophia's name on the bounty list?" William threatened again, holding the small knife.
"That was done by the Graham family's people." Malcolm half-truthfully said, pushing all the blame onto the Graham family.
"Is that so?" William smiled at the corner of his mouth. He wasn't foolish and immediately took out his cellphone.
"Give me your father's phone number."
"W-what do you want to do?" Malcolm nervously asked, an ominous feeling creeping into his heart.
"Quit the nonsense and give me your father's phone number quickly." William said coldly.
Malcolm didn't dare to resist and could only truthfully report his father, Holden's, phone number to William.
Upon receiving the number, William dialed it immediately and the call was quickly answered on the other end.
"Your son is in my hands. If you want him alive, you better pray that nothing happens to Sophia, otherwise your son will be buried with her." William threatened directly.
"Who are you? How did my son fall into your hands? Do you want to die?" Holden's furious roar came from the other end of the phone.
But William dismissed it and pressed the phone to Malcolm's ear, saying to him.
"Say hello to your dad!"
"Dad, please don't harm Sophia for now, otherwise, I won't survive." Malcolm cried out, genuinely scared of what William might do.
After Malcolm finished speaking, William hung up the call, leaving Holden anxious on the other end of the line.
Only in this way could Holden and the people from the Graham family be aware of the consequences and not send anyone else to assassinate Sophia.
"Alright, just stay here quietly and stay alive!" Now that his task was completed here, he planned to leave, but Malcolm shouted anxiously from behind.
"William, when are you going to let me go?" he asked.
"It depends on the situation. If I need you one day, I'll take you out. Until then, you better behave yourself," William said with a faint smile.
Malcolm gritted his teeth and remained silent. Although he harbored resentment, he was truly afraid of William, a terrifying expert.
