Chapter 286 Fighting for Your Own Future

If this woman was used well, she might be able to balance Mr. Davis. While William was thinking of this, the beautiful woman made a request.

"I want to sit down and have my restraints removed. Otherwise, I won't answer any of your questions."

The woman had a bit of a temper, but William naturally wouldn't refuse this request. He instructed Lillian to remove the ropes that bound her and found her a chair.

Once the woman sat down, she spoke languidly, "I am Joanna, Mr. Davis's mistress."

Joanna had a pleasant voice, the kind that no man would be able to resist if she acted coquettishly.

But as William had expected, her identity matched his assumptions. She was indeed Mr. Davis's mistress. Any man would want to embrace such a beauty and shower her with love, no wonder why Mr. Davis got involved with her.

"How does Mr. Davis treat you?" William asked slowly.

"Not too bad. He gives me whatever I want. He even gives me a hundred thousand dollars each month. I can choose from a variety of designer clothes and handbags," Joanna said, though there was no sense of gratitude in her eyes.

It seemed that this life was not what she desired, but rather something she was forced into.

"How long have you been with him?" William continued to inquire, wanting to see if it was possible to turn her against Mr. Davis. If there was such a woman working as a mole, it would be easy to overthrow Mr. Davis.

"I've been with him for five years now." Joanna answered every question without hesitation, as if she wasn't afraid of the numerous people present. Perhaps she had realized the current situation and understood that resistance was futile, so it was better to cooperate.

"What about your family? Do they know that you are someone's mistress?" William asked again.

Upon hearing this, Joanna's body trembled slightly, and her gaze darkened a bit. After a moment of silence, she replied, "I send money to them, so they should be doing alright."

"What are your plans for the future? Are you just waiting for Mr. Davis to get bored of you and abandon you? Or are you thinking of finding someone to marry?"

"Do you not find it ridiculous to ask such a question? As Mr. Davis's lover, my future is already in his hands, isn't it? Do I have the right to decide my own life?" Joanna responded.

These words sounded somewhat bleak. As Mr. Davis's lover, she indeed had no say in her life.

Hearing this, William nodded satisfactorily. He got what he wanted. "There is an opportunity for you to escape from Mr. Davis and live a normal life. Afterwards, I can give you ten million dollars, enough to secure a worry-free life for you and your loved ones. You can even return to your hometown and live a comfortable life with someone you love."

"Huh! You have painted a beautiful picture, but would Mr. Davis let me go?" Joanna obviously didn't believe William's words. Mr. Davis was a formidable figure in the East District. Who could defy him? Betraying him meant death, and it might even harm her loved ones.

"But what if Mr. Davis were to die?" William smirked.

Joanna was shocked. She understood why these people had brought her here. However, she glanced at the people in the villa's hall with a hint of disdain and said, "Just a few of you want to plot against Mr. Davis? That's just seeking death."

"What if we add Ralph into the mix?" William said casually.

"The chairman of the Sullivan family?" Joanna's eyes flickered, and her expression changed. If the Sullivan family was supporting them, then it would be different.

"Are you asking me to help you?"

"No, you help yourself. Your future life is all in your hands now. You didn't have the right to choose before, but now you do," William said calmly. A person can only commit fully when they are doing something for themselves.

"You speak beautifully, but betraying Mr. Davis means death. How can I believe that you have the power to do it?" Joanna wasn't foolish. She wouldn't betray Mr. Davis based solely on William's words. After all, this matter involved risks to her life.

"Do you know these two people?" William pointed at Larry and Raymond.

Joanna shifted her gaze onto them and said hesitantly, "Raymond and Larry?"

She had been by Mr. Davis's side for many years, so she naturally recognized some of the people around him, including his trusted aides. When she saw these two men being held captive, her expression changed again.

Joanna was surprised.

"That's right. Tonight, I'm going to frame Howard and I need you to distract Mr. Davis. Killing Howard would be like removing half of Mr. Davis's power," William said, staring at her.

"What ability do I have to distract Mr. Davis?" Joanna was still a little afraid. Although she felt confused and disgusted by her current life, it was still better than being dead.

"I believe you will figure out a way." William smirked, then took out a small knife from his pocket and planted it on the table in front of her. The implication was clear: if you don't help me, you'll die here tonight.

William wouldn't let someone who already knew the plan continue to live in this world.

Joanna looked at the shiny little knife. Her face turned pale with fear. She realized she had no choice in this matter. If she didn't help frame Mr. Davis tonight, she would probably be dead the next second.

But this was also a gamble for a better future and freedom! Soon, Joanna made a decision.

"I know a secret about Mr. Davis. If you bring people there, you'll definitely be able to trap him," she said.

In front of these powerful figures, she had no ability to resist, let alone the right to choose. If she wanted to survive, she had to let them manipulate her.

"What secret?" William suddenly became curious.

"I can't tell you right now, but he cares a lot about a mansion next to Purple Grove in the East district. If you go there and set a fire, he will quickly be drawn back," Joanna said.

"Fine, I'll trust you this time. If you dare to deceive me, you're dead." William immediately turned to Lillian.

"Lillian, you and Gerald go with her. Bring something to start the fire."

"Alright," Lillian said as she led Joanna out, with Gerald following along.

With Gerald around, William felt relieved about Lillian's safety.

After Lillian and Gerald left with ten men, William took the remaining members of his group and headed to the JUNE Club. Beauvoir, Baca, and the skilled fighters arranged by Ralph were all waiting there.

Tonight's negotiation was going to be extremely dangerous.
