Chapter 282 No One I Can't Deal With
Since Antony and Mr. Davis had a meal and exchanged greetings, the situation in the East district had become calm again.
Mr. Davis admitted WE ARE Chamber had acquired the properties under Larry and Raymond's names. Antony also made assurances and temporarily ceased investing in the East district.
With this, the two of them were considered at peace for the time being, and William didn't rush for immediate success. He planned to wait until they caught Mr. Davis's lover before deciding how to proceed.
Taking advantage of this rare peace, William accompanied Michelle and Julia to go shopping.
"William, after you finish filming the second season of 'Wilderness Life,' will you go back to New York?" Michelle held William's arm affectionately, feeling happy that he could accompany her shopping today.
At the same time, she worried that William would return to New York after filming the program, making their long-distance relationship more difficult than before.
"I probably won't go back for the time being. The company wants me to conduct research on Long Island." William found an excuse to put Michelle's mind at ease.
"That's great. We can meet up anytime in the future." Michelle felt a sense of excitement deep in her heart.
"William, if you can stay, my dad would be happy too," Julia chimed in as they walked.
"Speaking of which, my dad wants to thank you. The hundred million dollars in funds from WE ARE Chamber has been secured. It's all thanks to you. Let me treat you to dinner! There's a great buffet place nearby, I'll take you there!" Julia said.
William felt a bit helpless about the buffet. Last time in New York, he had eaten at a buffet with Michelle and Elisa. The two of them only ate a little, and William ended up finishing the rest, almost getting stuffed to death.
The three of them walked along the pedestrian street, chatting and laughing. Suddenly, a Ferrari came speeding toward them, going way beyond the speed limit of the pedestrian street.
The pedestrians on the road quickly made way, but William, with keen senses, immediately pulled Michelle to the side. When he remembered Julia, the Ferrari was already approaching her.
Without much thought, William threw himself toward Julia. Thanks to his strength and speed, he managed to push her to the side before the Ferrari could hit her. However, due to the excessive force and speed, William and Julia rolled a few times on the ground before coming to a stop.
Julia was already terrified, her face pale and her heart pounding. Just a moment ago, she thought she was going to be hit by the Ferrari, but luckily, William was there.
But now, she was in William's arms, in a rather suggestive position, pressed underneath him. This made her blush.
However, William stood up quickly.
"Julia, are you okay?" William asked with concern. Michelle also ran over, her face full of worry.
"Julia, did you get hurt? You scared me!" Michelle said anxiously.
"I'm fine. Thanks to William for pushing me away," Julia said, her face slightly flushed as she recalled the ambiguous scene of them falling to the ground just now.
Seeing that Julia was okay, Michelle heaved a sigh of relief. William initially didn't plan to confront the person driving the Ferrari, but the Ferrari stopped suddenly, and the driver rolled down the window, cursing at Julia and William.
"Dare to get in my way? You're asking for death! If you want to die, go somewhere else and don't dirty my new car!"
William was really angry now. Not only did this person almost hit them, but he was also being rude. Clearly, he was speeding on the pedestrian street and blaming them for getting in the way.
Even the bystanders were infuriated by this, but when they saw the owner of the luxury car, they didn't dare to say anything. It seemed that the owner of this luxury car had quite a status.
"What an audacious person! Let me show him what I'm capable of." William wanted to go and teach the rich young man a lesson, but he was stopped by Julia.
"William, let it go. This guy is Jeremiah, the son of the Bevery Club's owner. We can't afford to mess with him. Let's just go," Julia said. She recognized the man and didn't want to provoke him.
William's eyes lit up. "I want to see just how formidable he is."
Mr. Davis's growing strength in the East district owes much to the support of the Bevery Club and the martial arts family behind it. If William can dismantle this martial arts faction, Mr. Davis's power will decrease by at least half.
William walked straight toward the Ferrari. Jeremiah, seeing that William dared to confront him, got out of the car arrogantly.
It had been a while since he had taught someone a lesson. This bastard in front of him seemed like a good opportunity to hone his skills. After getting out of the car, Jeremiah stretched his muscles, causing them to crackle and pop, demonstrating his strength.
This was one of the reasons Julia feared him!
"William, let's just forget it! Jeremiah is formidable. You can't beat him!" Julia tried to persuade him. She was genuinely concerned that William would get injured.
Michelle was worried too.
"William, let's just drop it! It's better to avoid unnecessary trouble!"
Michelle didn't want William to get into trouble or get hurt, but William had made up his mind to teach Jeremiah a lesson and capture him, gaining a housekeeper in the process.
"It's too late to leave now." Jeremiah was already accustomed to bullying others, and with his knowledge of martial arts, he became even more arrogant.
"I apologize for disappointing you, but I never thought of leaving," William replied calmly, meeting his gaze with no hint of backing down.
As the people around saw this, they shook their heads, already anticipating the miserable outcome for William.
"This young man must be an outsider! He's just asking for trouble."
"Who knows? Nobody can save him now. He shouldn't have provoked Jeremiah."
"He is too impulsive. Why bother with Jeremiah for the sake of dignity? He should have endured it."
The onlookers didn't have high hopes for William and even felt some sympathy for him.
Considering William's appearance, it was clear he wasn't wealthy. Someone like him would likely end up dead or crippled today.
