Chapter 292 The Final Blow
Mr. Davis exerted all his efforts to extinguish the fire on the estate, but he arrived too late. More than half of it had been burned, and countless precious possessions were lost.
Looking at the estate, which was now in ruins, Mr. Davis's expression was grim.
"You all are useless! You couldn't even guard an estate and let someone launch a surprise attack. Who's responsible for this?" he roared angrily at his subordinates, unable to contain his fury.
"Mr. Davis, we didn't expect them to crack the latest high-tech password locks..." Before his subordinate finished speaking, Mr. Davis slapped him across the face.
"Useless! How dare you try to shift the blame onto others? Go and check the surveillance footage!" Mr. Davis was truly enraged this time. If he found out who was responsible, he would kill them.
While Mr. Davis suffered heavy losses, William, on the other hand, grew stronger. After subduing Howard and the Bevery Club, he essentially weakened Mr. Davis by half.
With the fortune estate in ruins, Mr. Davis also lost a significant portion of his liquid assets. This might be his weakest moment. William didn't want to give him a chance to recover, so it was time to deliver the final blow.
Early the next day, William invited Howard to the Garden Villa for a meal, and many others were also invited to accompany them.
After exchanging pleasantries and engaging in small talk, William said, "Howard, I would like to invite Mr. Davis to dinner in your name. Would that be possible?"
William wanted to take advantage of Mr. Davis's submission to Howard and use the opportunity to invite Mr. Davis out and take care of him. Rather than waiting for him to come and settle the score, it would be better to strike first.
"Inviting Mr. Davis to dinner?" When William said this, Howard immediately understood what he meant.
Howard looked at William in shock. He didn't expect this young man to have such big ambitions. He actually wanted to replace Mr. Davis in the East district. It made his heart tremble.
He knew very well how formidable Mr. Davis was. Going against such a powerful figure, if he were to fail, it would mean death.
"Just invite him out for a meal, don't overthink it." William didn't dare to tell Howard the truth. After all, he had only joined him for a day, while he had been working with Mr. Davis for over ten years. So it would be enough to probe with a few words.
If he joined forces with Mr. Davis to plot against him, it would be disastrous. As for Howard's loyalty, it would take time to test.
"No problem. But could you teach me the Inch Punch afterwards?" Howard asked boldly after taking a sip of his drink.
Howard understood that William was testing him, but he was just one step away from unleashing superpower, and that one step had been holding him back for ten years.
So when he saw Beauvoir and William unleashing their superpower continuously, he started planning this in his mind. Finding a breakthrough from the Inch Punch might be Howard's last chance to become a grandmaster in his life. That's why he thought of learning the Inch Punch from William.
"No problem, I'll have my mentor teach you when the time comes," William replied with a smirk.
"Great, I'll call him immediately." Howard took out his phone and dialed Mr. Davis directly. He put it on speaker so that William and the others could hear.
Howard first questioned why Mr. Davis didn't come to support him last night and then used the excuse of treating him to dinner to apologize.
Mr. Davis, who was busy investigating the matter at the manor last night, felt a little sorry for Howard. In the future, he would have to rely on Howard for some things, so he couldn't make decisions too hastily.
Mr. Davis immediately agreed to the dinner invitation. However, the location was arranged at his own hotel, showing great caution and prudence.
After Howard agreed, he hung up the phone and then said to William, "Mr. Davis is very cautious. Although he agreed to have dinner with me, the meeting place is his stronghold, and all his people are there."
"Mr. Davis is indeed cautious!" William frowned. He had originally planned to lure him out and attack him, but now it seemed that he had underestimated the situation. It wouldn't be so easy for someone who had dominated the East district for over a decade to fall into his trap.
"Do you still want to meet him?" Howard asked, curious to see if William had the courage.
"Of course! I'll bring some people. They'll pretend to be your subordinates." William didn't want to miss this opportunity.
This made Howard look at William with even higher regard and he commended him, saying, "You really have courage. But let me remind you, when we meet Mr. Davis, he will have us searched and confiscate all weapons. So you better be prepared for that."
William frowned and sighed. Mr. Davis was truly meticulous in his actions. After all, there were too many people who wanted to kill him.
It seemed that he should be more low-key about his identity in the future, or else he would easily attract attention. Pushing Antony to the forefront was the best choice.
After Howard left, William called for Beauvoir and asked, "Beauvoir, do you have any non-metallic but highly lethal hidden weapons?"
William thought that if he didn't bring any weapons with him, it would be very dangerous. It wasn't easy to kill an enemy with bare hands. If he had hidden weapons, he could directly assassinate Mr. Davis.
"Even a flower or a leaf can be used as a hidden weapon. But with your current strength, this should be enough to kill someone," Beauvoir said, taking out a pack of toothpicks.
When William saw the toothpicks, his eyes lit up. Toothpicks were readily available in restaurants. He could use the toothpicks on the table as concealed weapons. If he coated them with powder that paralyzes the nerves, it would be a sure kill.
This hidden weapon was great!
