Chapter 242 Wedding Banquet and Opportunity
In the past few days, Michelle had started working at the DQ Group. With her beauty and background, everyone from the general manager to the cleaning staff treated her kindly.
In terms of her work, Ralph had assigned his assistant to her, making Michelle's job much easier and allowing her to learn a lot of business skills.
When it was time to finish work in the evening, Michelle tidied up and headed downstairs.
Today, she wore a white dress with pink high heels, her long, white legs attracting attention. With every move she made, there was a charm that drew people's gazes.
Along the way, people greeted her friendlily when they saw her. Some even invited her to have dinner, but she declined politely.
At this moment, William had already been waiting at the entrance of the DQ Group. He hadn't seen Michelle for many days. Today he came to pick her up and even bought a car for this purpose. However, it was just an ordinary car worth around a hundred thousand dollars. William wanted to keep a low profile.
Compared to the previous Ferrari sports car, this one was really too cheap.
Upon seeing a familiar figure waiting at the entrance, Michelle's face lit up with joy. She ran toward him happily in her high heels and leaped into his arms, surprised. "William, how come you have time to come pick me up today?"
"Your colleagues are here. Aren't you afraid of being seen?" William held Michelle in his arms, reluctant to let go, as her fragrance wafted into his nostrils, intoxicating him.
"Just let them see. There's no need to hide," Michelle said while freeing herself from William's embrace. She then affectionately linked her arm with his, gazing at him with love in her eyes.
Her colleagues were curious and shocked, their gazes falling on William.
"Is this Michelle's boyfriend?"
"No way! She's so beautiful, and her boyfriend looks so average. Clearly a poor guy."
"This difference is too drastic. That guy is dressed cheaply, and they seem worlds apart!"
Passersby couldn't help but turn their heads and quietly discuss what they saw.
William didn't mind. After all, he had heard similar comments countless times and had grown accustomed and immune to them.
"Let me take you out for dinner!" William said, ushering Michelle into the car.
Michelle didn't care if the car was good or bad. As long as it was William picking her up, she was happy.
"Oh, William, tomorrow my high school friend is getting married. She's marrying into the Graham family in Long Island. They are very powerful. Will you come with me?" Michelle turned her head, remembering something, and said to William.
"Sure, we must go. I'll prepare a generous gift for her." William nodded. Suddenly, he seemed to have caught onto something important from their conversation and asked abruptly, hitting the brakes, "The Graham family?"
"Yes, the Graham family in Long Island. They rank sixth on the family's hierarchical list. They're considered an influential family in Long Island." Michelle was taken aback by the sudden braking, but luckily she had her seatbelt on, or else she would have hit the front.
"It's actually the Graham family," William murmured to himself, surprised by this unexpected revelation. Immediately, he inquired further. "Where will the reception take place?"
"I think it's going to be held at the Moon Grand Hotel. Many people are coming tomorrow, so they should have booked the entire venue." Michelle contemplated for a moment before responding. She was really looking forward to her friend's wedding reception tomorrow.
Upon hearing this, William began pondering silently. Besides helping Sophia out of her predicament, there was another important matter weighing on his mind - Master Smith's disappearance.
He had always believed that Master Smith's disappearance was related to the Graham family, and he even speculated that they had either detained or kidnapped Master Smith.
If Master Smith wasn't found, even if they helped Sophie resolve the situation, William's engagement with her would be announced. At that point, William's identity would inevitably be exposed.
And once his identity was exposed, the person most affected would undoubtedly be Michelle. William couldn't even imagine what she would do.
"It seems like tomorrow is a good opportunity. Since they all will go to the Moon Grand Hotel, their mansion and company should be most vulnerable in terms of security. This is the best time to investigate there," William thought to himself, feeling a bit excited. It would be an unexpected surprise if he could really find Master Smith.
After enjoying a candlelit dinner together at a restaurant, William sent Michelle to Julia's house and then went straight back to the Garden Villa. That night, he urgently arranged for Sharon and Hunter to come from New York to Long Island by train overnight. He also asked them to bring more martial arts experts with them.
After informing Sharon and Hunter, William sent a message to Riley, asking her to draw a map of the Graham Group's mansion and deliver it early the next morning. He needed it urgently.
"Tomorrow, let Sharon and Hunter investigate secretly. It won't be in vain if they can find any trace." William knew that finding Master Smith in this way was like finding a needle in a haystack. The possibility of actually finding him was small, but what if they did find him?
The next morning, Sharon and Hunter arrived without having slept all night and met with William.
"Sir, is there something important that made you call us urgently?" Sharon hadn't slept all night, but she was still in good spirits. This reassured William a little, showing that experts indeed had much better stamina than ordinary people.
"Of course, there is something very important. Today, I want both of you to separately investigate the Graham mansion and the Graham Group, and then find this person," William said as he took out two photos from his pocket, showing a picture of Master Smith.
He had found these photos online. The Smith family was a prominent one, and Master Smith had naturally been interviewed by the media many times. William had retrieved the images from online news articles.
The relevant documents were printed and handed to them by William.
"Don't worry, sir. We will do our best," Hunter said earnestly.
"Yes, and I have also sent the maps of these two locations to your phones. Please take a closer look so you won't get lost." William forwarded Riley's hand-drawn maps to Sharon and Hunter.
After everything was arranged, Sharon and Hunter went their separate ways, while William changed into a more presentable outfit today. He also prepared a generous gift as he attended Michelle's school friend's wedding banquet. Besides wining and dining, there was another important matter- keeping them occupied.
If needed, William wouldn't mind resorting to violence!
