Chapter 384 Compare With Me?
In a glance, William realized that Gabriella and Vivian didn't get along. How could he stand by and watch his own assistant being humiliated by someone else? Thus, prompting him to step forward.
"You're the arrogant one, poor person. Do you even have a thousand dollars when you add up everything on you?" Gabriella swept her eyes up and down William, full of disdain and contempt.
"The clothes on me may not be worth a thousand dollars, but I have more than that in my pocket." William's lips curled, and then he signaled to the sales assistant, speaking loudly.
"I want all the clothes in your store, pack them for me."
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone present was shocked, including the sales assistant who stood there momentarily bewildered.
"Sir, are you sure you want to buy everything?" The sales assistant walked over to confirm.
"Yes, everything. Calculate how much it will cost me." William said calmly.
"Alright, please wait a moment, sir!" The sales assistant, filled with excitement, ran back to calculate, while Vivian tugged at William's sleeve, speaking softly.
"William, isn't this going too far?"
"You're my assistant, you can't let others best or belittle you." William responded quietly.
Vivian felt speechless for a moment. Although William's behavior was a bit excessive, she couldn't help but feel touched.
"You're quite arrogant for a poor person. Let's see if you can afford it," Gabriella's boyfriend, Tomek, said. He was looking at William with great interest, like that of a person watching a crazy yet entertaining show.
"We'll see how this poor person fares. Does he think this place is a second-hand market like where they come from? Each piece of clothing here costs at least a few thousand dollars. Buying everything will amount to millions of dollars. He wouldn't even have that much even if he sold himself." Gabriella mocked.
William ignored them, because actions always speak louder than words.
Soon, the sales assistant returned with a calculator in hand.
"Sir, if you want to buy everything in our store, it comes to $5,867,000. I'll round it down to $5,860,000 for you. Will you be paying with a credit card?"
As soon as she had finished speaking, Gabriella was in fits of laughter. "You silly pauper!!!. $5.86 million. Let's see how you handle this now."
Tomek also found it amusing. Although he had a lot of money, he wouldn't dare spend it on clothes like this. He didn't believe a poor person could afford such a large sum of money. He was looking forward to seeing William make a fool of himself.
Upon hearing this staggering amount, Vivian was dumbfounded and she quietly advised William. "William, It's too much money. Let's just forget about it? "
"It's okay, this is pocket change to me!" William said as he pulled out a card and handed it to the sales assistant.
"Go ahead and swipe the card! No need for a password!"
"Alright, sir!" The sales assistant took the bank card and excitedly rushed off to process the payment.
Meanwhile, a shocked Gabriella and Tomek looked at each other in disbelief.
"He's putting up quite an act. Let's see how this ends."
However, the sales assistant quickly returned with the card and the receipt, wearing a respectful expression on his face.
"Sir, the payment has been processed. Here's your receipt. We will begin packing the clothes for you. Would you like us to deliver them to you?"
"Sure, leave one set behind and pack the rest for me. Deliver them to Peace Garden, Building A01," William intentionally said the address loudly for them to hear.
Peace Garden was a highly exclusive villa area, with starting prices of least $30 million.
"Certainly, sir. I'll arrange for someone to deliver it to you immediately." The sales assistant's gaze became even more respectful upon hearing the address.
Gabriella and Tomek, on the other hand, were shocked.
"How is this possible? How can this poor guy be so wealthy?" Gabriella couldn't believe that William had so much money, mainly because she was annoyed that Vivian found such a wealthy boyfriend.
However, William didn't want to back down so quickly and said to Vivian, "Vivian, later I'll reserve Crystal Restaurant for us. Let's have lunch there."
William had an indifferent expression on his face as he glanced at Vivian, who was stunned for a moment before reacting.
"William, there's no need for such extravagance. Let's just eat something casual," Vivian said, cooperating by holding onto William's arm.
This angered Gabriella to the point of grinding her teeth. Crystal Restaurant was a very famous romantic restaurant in Canada and reserving it for a meal cost at least $20 million. No man had ever been willing to reserve Crystal Restaurant for her, but now Vivian, whom she had always disliked had managed to get it done with this man.
This made her very angry. Vivian only knew how to study and work, completely lacking charm. Why would a wealthy man be interested in her?
"Crystal Restaurant is not something anyone can reserve. It requires someone with status and influence. You simply can't afford it. Do you still want to act arrogant here?" Tomek couldn't help but mockingly speak.
"Yes, do you think you can deceive us here? With her, I don't believe Vivian can find a wealthy and influential boyfriend," Gabriella joined in.
Gabriella couldn't bear being inferior to Vivian like this.
Back in college, she couldn't compete academically, and even after starting to work, she was still falling behind. Now, she finally found a rich and powerful second-generation boyfriend, so naturally, she wanted to outshine Vivian in this aspect.
"Really? How about I take you guys there to have a look?" William's lips curled up slightly.
The reason why William claimed to have reserved Crystal Restaurant was that he knew in advance that it belonged to the BN Group, so he dared to challenge them openly.
"Sure, I don't believe you can actually reserve Crystal Restaurant for Vivian." Gabriella was taking a gamble.
"Then come and witness it for yourselves!" William shook his head.
Vivian, however, felt a little nervous and whispered, "William, it's not easy to book the whole restaurant. Maybe we should forget about it?"
"Don't worry, with me here, no one will ridicule you anymore." William puffed some air into Vivian's ear quietly, making her blush slightly.
Soon, William and Vivian were in his Ferrari heading for Crystal Restaurant, while Gabriella and Tomek followed in their luxury car.
"William, are you really taking me there?" Vivian asked nervously.
"Yes, with me here, no one can mock you." While talking, William made a phone call to Peter and asked him to help reserve Crystal Restaurant and make arrangements immediately.
"Alright! I'll take care of it right away." After hanging up the phone, Peter went to handle William's instructions.
Seeing William going all out for her like this, Vivian felt a little touched. It was the first time she saw a man fighting so fiercely for her dignity.
William drove the car to the building where the restaurant was located. This building was also known as the Romantic Tower among Canadians, and Crystal Restaurant was located on the top floor. Its exterior resembled a sparkling elliptical diamond.
Considered a landmark in Canada, standing on top of it allowed a panoramic view of the entire city, making it popular among young people.
Soon, William emerged from the parking garage, and Gabriella and Tomek followed suit.
"I can't believe how arrogant a poor person like you can be."
"Come up and see for yourselves, so you can finally give up on this nonsense." William replied as he entered the elevator.
Gabriella and Tomek followed him into the elevator, and Vivian was actually quite apprehensive. Crystal Restaurant was not something that an ordinary person could reserve.
Soon enough, the elevator reached the top floor. Just as the doors opened, the manager along with a group of waitstaff were already there waiting. Seeing William leading the group, the manager prompted his staff.
"He has arrived," the person said immediately and respectfully.
"Welcome, Mr. Brown," they added loudly.
As soon as the words fell, Gabriella and Tomek were utterly astounded; shock and disbelief written all over their faces.
