Chapter 304 The Million-Dollar Fortune-Telling

William couldn't help but feel pleasantly surprised at seeing this fortune-teller again.

Currently; there was no one in front of the fortune-teller's stall. William walked straight over and respectfully greeted him.

"Good to see you again!"

Upon their second encounter, William's respect for the fortune-teller was evident.

"It's you. Looks like you've taken the medicinal pill I gave you," the fortune-teller observed William up and down, realizing that he had changed completely.

"Yes, thanks to the pill you gave me, otherwise I would have been dead by now," William expressed his gratitude.

"Your life or death has nothing to do with me; it's all a matter of fate," the fortune-teller waved his hand dismissively.

"Regardless, I still want to express my gratitude. Please let me know if you have any needs, as someone from my wealthy family might be able to assist you," William believed that with his family's immense wealth, he could help the fortune-teller with certain matters.

"You're quite loyal. Since you put it that way, I happen to have something I need your help with," the fortune-teller seemed to have anticipated that William would offer, so he was ready to speak.

"Please tell me, I will do my best to help you." William responded firmly. This fortune teller clearly stood out and forming a connection with him would definitely be beneficial for himself.

"The Bell family, a wealthy clan in the South district, possesses a pearl that has been shining for thousands of years. I would like you to retrieve it for me," the fortune teller said nonchalantly, glancing at William.

"Retrieve the Night Pearl?" William frowned. He didn't expect the fortune teller to ask him to steal someone else's possession, especially a Night Pearl that has existed for thousands of years. Such a long period of time would undoubtedly make it a priceless treasure.

"Indeed, if you have a problem; just ignore my request," the fortune teller murmured.

"I have no problem, but it will take some time. I just don't know how to contact you," William pondered aloud. It would be best to obtain his contact information for future convenience in finding him.

"You don't need to find me. I will find you. I will be on Long Island this month," the fortune teller continued.

"Alright, within this month, I will retrieve it for you," William thought that no matter the cost, he must obtain the Night Pearl. This fortune teller definitely had a purpose for it.

As soon as they were done speaking; an excited Sophia squeezed past William and sat in front of the fortune teller's table.

"Can you perform another divination for me?" Sophia asked eagerly.

"One hundred dollars per session," the fortune teller directly extended his hand for money, resembling a fraudster. But William knew that this was just superficial; this fortune teller was undoubtedly an expert.

Without wasting any words, Sophia directly placed one hundred dollars on his table.

"I want to ask about my marriage," Sophia had long wanted to ask this question. Although she knew about her engagement to the Brown family, she couldn't help but wonder if her future married life would be happy. If it wasn't, she wanted to prepare early.

Upon hearing this question, William also grew concerned because Sophia's marriage was closely related to him.

Narrowing his eyes, the fortune teller soon began to speak.

"Your marriage line is incredibly harmonious. The person you will marry is the one you hold in your heart, but there is an abyss that stands in the way of this union."

The fortune teller's words were mystical. Upon hearing the first half, Sophia's heart filled with joy, but when she heard the second half, she couldn't help but furrow her brows.

"How can it be broken?" Sophia reached into her purse and took out one thousand dollars placing it in front of the fortune teller.

"This amount may not be enough," the fortune teller shook his head and sighed.

"Then how much is needed? I have plenty of money," Sophia eagerly wanted to know the answer and no longer cared about the amount of money.

"Ten million dollars," the fortune teller made his demand.

This price not only shocked Sophia, but also surprised even William and Michelle; they were stunned. It's obvious that they want to steal money!

William couldn't just stand by.

"Why is it that others only pay $1,000 to get an answer, but Sophia has to pay ten times that amount?"

Michelle and Sophia couldn't help but look over, the price was too outrageous.

"What others ask for is trivial, $1,000 is enough. But this girl's question has implications, so the answer cannot be bought for anything less than $10 million," the fortune teller said, nonchalantly.

"Well, I'll do it, but I don't have that much cash on hand, obviously. Can I use a credit card?" Sophia suddenly nodded, determined to give it her all regardless of being scammed or not.

"Just transfer the money to this account," the fortune teller said, handing Sophia a piece of paper with a bank account written on it.

"Alright, wait here. I'll go transfer the money right away." Sophia said, getting up in a hurry and running to the nearest bank. William followed, concerned for her safety, and Michelle instinctively followed along.

Soon after Sophia transferred the money, she hurried back and placed the receipt on the fortune teller's table.

"I've transferred the money, $10 million. This is the receipt; now can you tell me? How do I cross the abyss?" Sophia gasped for breath; her eyes filled with anticipation.

"If you truly seek an answer, then I will tell you. Come closer and listen," the fortune teller said, seeing Sophia's sincerity and beckoning her to come closer.

Without hesitation, Sophia stood up and leaned in, eager to hear the fortune teller's answer.

William, considering himself a master with his abilities, had extraordinary hearing, being able to hear the sound of insect wings vibrating within a radius of 500 meters. However, he couldn't hear the fortune teller's soft whispers right in front of him.

But when Sophia heard the fortune teller's explanation, she couldn't help but smile.

"Thank you. I will never forget your great favor when the day of my marriage result comes." Sophia obtained the answers she desired, and her excitement was evident. She didn't expect that she could really grow old with the person she loved.

Looking at Sophia and the fortune teller, William wore a confused expression. He was extremely curious about the secret the fortune teller told Sophia because her marriage fortunes were related to him. How could he not be curious?

"I wonder what answer the fortune teller gave Sophia."

"Let's go, William, Michelle. Let's go shopping! Today, the treat is on me." Sophia said, holding Michelle's hand and walking towards a nearby restaurant, clearly in a good mood.
