Chapter 376 Stubbornness
The Peace Garden near Kings University was a luxurious villa complex with a strong humanistic atmosphere. Those who could live here were either rich or prestigious, and many of them were students from Kings University. They couldn't adapt to the dormitory life at school, so they would move out and live here.
A Ferrari drove in and finally stopped in front of one of the villas.
Vivian got out of the car and then opened the car door for William, who was sitting in the back seat.
"Don't be so formal. Feel free to do whatever you want." William got out of the car and looked at Vivian.
"This is one of my jobs. Since Mr. Baker asked me to assist you, I will do my best." Vivian put on a serious look, as if she were dedicated to her work.
"Why do I feel there's resentment in your words? Are you not happy working with me?" William teased her.
"No!" Vivian said so on the surface, but she did feel a bit resentful in her heart.
She was supposed to be the assistant to the chairman, but she became a nobody's assistant, which deviated greatly from her planned career path. She couldn't accept it fully.
"No worries! Following me will definitely have more prospects than staying by Mr. Baker's side." William's lips curved into a slight smile. Then he suddenly thought of something and asked her curiously. "By the way, I'm curious. You're already so outstanding at the age of thirty. Do you have time for dating?"
Vivian looked a bit uneasy. She had been focusing all her energy on studying since she was young, and she had never been in a relationship with any man.
She said stubbornly, "Sorry, this is a personal question, and I refuse to answer."
"You're not single, are you?" William's lips curved into a faint smile. Vivian's expression completely betrayed her inner thoughts.
But it made sense. Where did she have the time for dating?
Vivian clenched her teeth in frustration, but she didn't continue the conversation. She inexplicably disliked William a little more.
After entering the villa, William looked around and found that both the design and decoration of the villa were stylish and luxurious.
"Vivian, why don't you live here with me from now on? Except for cooking, you can take care of all the other household chores." William plopped himself down on the sofa and immediately assigned Vivian her first task.
"Sorry, Mr. Brown. I am your work assistant, not your personal assistant." Vivian was angry. William didn't seem like a good person to her. He actually wanted her to move in! What if he had ulterior motives at night? She was no match for him.
"You are my personal assistant, and this will be your job from now on. If you can't accept it, you can leave now," William said calmly. "But don't worry, you are not my type."
Vivian hesitated for a moment but quickly made a decision. She wasn't the type to back down at the start of a job.
"No problem. Work has never overwhelmed me before," she replied.
William nodded, satisfied with Vivian's determined attitude, and said, "Gather all the information about tomorrow's Kings University freshman welcome party. The more detailed, the better."
"Alright!" Vivian replied and went downstairs to work.
Observing Vivian's spirited demeanor, William couldn't help but smile.
The next day, William woke up early to prepare breakfast, but to his surprise, Vivian was already awake and waiting for him. More accurately, she hadn't slept at all.
She gave him a folder and said, "Here is all the information about the freshman welcome party, including the student representatives, dance, and a list of participating freshmen."
William was amazed as he took the folder and flipped through its detailed contents. Even the list of over five hundred participating freshmen was included, deepening his understanding of Vivian's capabilities.
"Vivian is truly wasted as just an assistant. Perhaps I can gradually involve her in the intelligence handling work of Ocean Guild, but her loyalty needs to be tested," William thought. After all, Ocean Guild was an intelligence organization that valued loyalty. However, cultivating someone who despised him into a person completely devoted to him felt like a challenge.
"You have done well. Go back and rest," William ordered, pretending to be serious.
"I'm not tired," Vivian said, yawning. William shook his head and pretended to give a stern command.
"I'm ordering you to sleep now!"
"I'll go right away!" Vivian replied and went back to rest.
Watching her stubborn figure, William couldn't help but smile wryly. Vivian was quite interesting; she was the most stubborn girl he had ever encountered.
After setting aside the folder, William went to the kitchen and made a fried shrimp sandwich. As he ate, he attentively studied the information collected and organized by Vivian overnight, realizing that the Kings University freshman welcome party was no simple event.
"I didn't expect it to be a high-society social gathering. No wonder my father wants me to attend it. It seems like he wants to establish a friendly social circle," William thought.
He looked at some of the new student representatives who took the stage. There were two in total. One of them was Marvin, the heir of the Campbell family, and the other was a girl named Delilah, who was Neil's daughter.
"I didn't expect Flood Boxing Guild to be so famous in Toronto!" William suddenly recalled the grandmaster-level expert he had defeated earlier, who seemed to be from the Flood Boxing Guild.
William didn't really care, so he continued to browse the document. It also mentioned the attendance and speeches of invited guests, but the identity of the invited guests was generally kept confidential, so Vivian couldn't find any information about them.
It was understandable that such confidential information couldn't be found.
After reading the file, William put the shrimp sandwich in the microwave oven and left a note on top of it for Vivian. It was for her to enjoy once she woke up.
After finishing everything, William drove his Ferrari to Kings University. This time, he was attending the freshman welcome party and the dance event as Mr. Brown. He would be swarmed by women again. Just the thought of it gave him a headache.
