Chapter 163 Knocked Down by a Punch?
Before heading to the boxing arena in the North district, William drove Sharon to Ring Villa in the West district, planning to pick up Kayla as well. She needed to go to the North district to develop her business, so it was necessary for her to meet those important figures there.
However, Kayla's reaction was somewhat cold when she saw William entering the villa. She had dark circles under her eyes, clearly indicating that she hadn't slept well last night.
"Kayla, did you not sleep well last night? You have dark circles under your eyes," William asked with concern as soon as he saw her.
"Do I have dark circles?" Kayla was taken aback; she hadn't even noticed it herself. She had been lost in thoughts while lying in bed last night, and it seemed she really didn't sleep well.
Fiona couldn't help but nod beside her and added, "Yes, it's quite obvious. Kayla, did you not sleep well last night?"
"Maybe I've been feeling a lot of pressure lately! After all, it's challenging to expand our business in the North district," Kayla came up with a perfect excuse to brush it off, but her seductive eyes secretly glanced at William. It's all because of you. The moment she thought of William going to find Michelle and spending the night with her, her mind...
Started to fantasize, so she couldn't fall asleep.
"The pressure shouldn't be too great. Later, I will take you to a boxing gym in the North district to experience it. If you win, your situation in the North district might improve a lot," William said with a smile. Going to the underground black boxing arena was a challenging task, and today would determine whether the North district market could be opened up.
"Really? Then let's go quickly!" Kayla was still very concerned about the business development in the North district. After all, she was the general manager now and naturally wanted to achieve some results.
After nodding, William was pleased to see that Kayla had brightened up and they headed off to the North District.
Sharon remained silent in the back seat of the car, appearing rather cold. Kayla had only met her once, and she had a good impression of this intimidating but aloof cousin of William’s. However, she didn't dare to talk to her much.
More than half an hour later, William and the others finally arrived at the famous GUY Club in the North district, and the underground black boxing arena was located on the first floor of the GUY Club.
This establishment was owned by the Miller family and was very famous in the North district, almost serving as a landmark. It was a comprehensive club that combined a bar, massage, and bathing facilities. However, many of the services provided inside were of a dubious nature, including illegal boxing matches.
William led Sharon and Kayla straight out of the car to the entrance, which shone with a golden glow. There were many sturdy security guards stationed at the door. At a glance, it was clear that these security guards were not ordinary; they were capable fighters. The Front of the building was also luxuriously decorated and not inferior to the luxurious clubs in the city center.
Seeing this, William couldn't help but frown.
"The Miller family is indeed wealthy. GUY Club probably earns them several billion dollars every year."
"The three major families in the North district all came from the underworld, so they are inevitably rough," Kayla commented briefly and precisely about these three major families.
"Rough? Your comment is sharp and accurate," William nodded. These three major families in the North district couldn't be compared to the aristocrats in other parts of New York.
First, their background was lacking; second, they had a violent way of doing things; and third, they didn't adhere to conventional methods and often resorted to violence to resolve issues. Dealing with them required even more caution and care, as one's life might be at stake here.
"Let's go in!" William took the lead and entered.
There were quite a few people inside the club, most of them...
The rich people who come here either own the place or are second-generation wealthy, looking for entertainment.
After taking the elevator, William and his group went straight to the first floor, which was the legendary underground black boxing arena.
At this point in time, there were not too many people at the black boxing arena, but there were still a considerable number of people in attendance.
Within the five to six hundred square meters of space, many platforms were set up. Each platform was surrounded by a crowd. Some were betting, some were cheering from the sidelines, and there were even some who were roaring in excitement.
Here, people had the opportunity to get rich overnight, but they could also lose everything in one night.
However, there were also many skilled fighters who came here as black boxers to earn prize money and even dream of becoming famous. Yet, more often than not, these talented fighters ended up crippled, injured, or even paying with their lives.
"Sharon, it's your turn later," William glanced at the muscular black boxers on the platform and turned to encourage her.
"Don't worry, these people are no match for me," Sharon said confidently. In her eyes, those muscular black boxers on the platforms were merely shields. It was too easy to defeat them.
Just like the expert Yves, who was paid a million-dollar annual salary by William but couldn't last two rounds against Sharon.
"Alright," William expressed his confidence in Sharon.
While they were wandering around, Vincent, who had been waiting for a long time, approached them with a sexy female companion on his arm. Behind him was a muscular young man with a fierce expression.
It was evident that this person was the black boxer Vincent had hired, a ruthless character not easily tricked.
"About time you showed up, I've been waiting for you," Vincent said smugly. In this place, Vincent had considerable authority since he was the young master of the Miller family. Many people in this black boxing arena respected him.
"Good, I've been looking for you too! When does the betting begin?" William got straight to the point. He didn't want to waste any time.
"The betting can start anytime, but where are the fighters you brought?" Vincent instinctively glanced at Sharon and Kayla following behind William. Both women were good-looking, with one being elegant and the other being enchantingly sexy. But they didn't seem like fighters to Vincent. He had never considered that these two could fight.
"Naturally, I brought fighters. You'll see them when they enter the ring later," William said with a smirk.
"You're not planning to fight yourself, are you? Look at your arms and legs. I doubt they add up to the thickness of both arms of my fighter," Vincent laughed mockingly. This bastard was quite amusing.
Even his sexy female companion beside him couldn't help but laugh.
"Whether someone can fight or not can't be judged by appearance alone," William said calmly. He didn't feel the need to explain further.
He no longer cared about their mocking, especially since he had no intention of getting into the ring himself. "Is that so? Well, I'd like to see how you can fight. If you end up disabled, don't blame me for hitting hard," Vincent disdainfully reminded him, completely disregarding William.
"Oh, by the way, did you bring back the set of lipsticks you took from me yesterday?" Vincent seemingly remembered and asked. Last night, his precious one didn't get the lipsticks, and he wasn't even allowed to touch her. Vincent was really frustrated, so today he had to get his hands on that set of Chanel lipsticks, or he would really be annoyed tonight.
"Naturally, I brought them, but I left them in the car. If you win against me, I'll get them for you," William said casually. In fact, he had already given the lipstick set to Fiona a long time ago. He was just deceiving Vincent for now.
"That's good! Let's go to the registration for the match!" Vincent impatiently said.
"Wait, I haven't mentioned the stakes for winning or losing the bet. What's your rush?" William said calmly. Before coming this time, William specifically had Wendy check the properties under Vincent's name. Most of them were just small shares, except for a five-star hotel worth several hundred million US dollars, of which he was the sole owner.
So, what William wanted was this five-star hotel. He even brought the transfer agreement with him beforehand, making it convenient to acquire the hotel right then and there and prevent Vincent from going back on his word.
"You still believe you can beat me? Fine, then tell me what you want if you win," Vincent said nonchalantly. In his opinion, William couldn't possibly win against his boxer.
This boxer had cost him millions of dollars to invite. This month alone, he had participated in over ten matches, without ever losing. So, facing someone like William, who he considered to be nothing more than garbage, one punch would be enough to knock him down.
"I heard you have a five-star hotel under your name called the Flow Hotel. If I miraculously win this bet, transfer the Flow Hotel to me," William said with a smile, revealing his true intentions.
"Fine, no problem!" Vincent agreed almost without hesitation because he thought it was impossible for William to win this bet. In truth; whether he agreed or not didn't really matter; he just wanted to let this person have some hope for now.
"Since it's settled, let's get started!" William's mouth curled up with a barely noticeable curve when he saw Vincent taking the bait.
"Follow me. The arena is ready. It's the fourth arena! But before the match, we need to register the boxer's information. Here, for all gambling matches, registration is required, and spectators are allowed to place bets outside the arena. Is that alright with you?" Vincent led William and explained the rules of the place.
"No problem!" William said casually. He didn't mind others placing bets.
Soon, Vincent led William and the others to the side of Arena Four where there was a dedicated table for boxers to register and fill out forms, and two staff members specifically designated for betting registration.
The set up and procedures all looked very professional.
"Sharon, fill out the boxer registration form," William instructed Sharon to fill out the boxer registration form, while also considering whether he should place a bet on Sharon. It would be a pity not to take advantage of this sure-win gambling match.
Upon seeing William asking a woman to fill out the boxer registration form, Vincent was startled at first, then burst into laughter full of mockery.
"You really are a coward. You actually let a woman help you place a bet. Are you here to entertain us?" Vincent sneered.
The muscular boxer filling out the boxer registration form beside Vincent also looked disdainfully at Sharon. As a woman, he was confident he could knock her down with just one punch. This gambling match was not interesting at all!
