Chapter 280 The Confrontation between the Snake and the Dragon
After receiving an invitation call from Julia, William came there directly. Compared to the first time he came for a meal, Oscar was clearly more enthusiastic today.
"William, I'm really grateful to you. How did you manage to do it?" Oscar was very curious.
"I don't have that kind of power. I just talked to Boss Jones, and he agreed to help me with this matter. You should be grateful to him," William replied. He had prepared his words before coming here, intending to push everything onto Antony. It wasn't the first time anyway.
"Does Boss Jones have such a good relationship with you? He agreed to help you with just one sentence!" Oscar's eyes lit up. Antony was a rising figure in Long Island. If he could please Antony through William, he wouldn't fear retaliation from Raymond and others.
Oscar poured a glass of wine for William and said, "I heard that Boss Jones acquired the Wind Group in the East District at a low price, and he is also making investments everywhere. With support from the Sullivan family, Boss Jones is quite prestigious on Long Island!"
"That's true. I heard that he plans to focus his investments in the East District, which might bring him into direct confrontation with Mr. Davis. By the way, are you familiar with Mr. Davis? How many people are under his command, and what kind of support does he have?" William thought for a moment before asking. Oscar should have a better understanding of Mr. Davis.
"Since Boss Jones wants to invest in the East District, it's inevitable for him to face Mr. Davis. After Nixon's death, all his subordinates sided with Mr. Davis, indirectly expanding his power exponentially. No one in the East District can compete with him."
Oscar continued, "Mr. Davis directly or indirectly controls over 60% of the market share in the East District. Apart from the four capable assistants he recently acquired from the Nixon family, he also has two very powerful individuals."
"One is named Peter, and the other is Lawrence. These two not only excel in combat, but they also oversee many shady industries for Mr. Davis, making them his true confidants. In addition to that, there's a mysterious faction specializing in a secret martial art that secretly supports him."
William frowned. No wonder Nixon couldn't beat Mr. Davis. He had skilled support.
"Yeah, that group is formidable. They even established a martial arts school in the East district called Bevery Club. With Mr. Davis's support, the school is very popular, but the training fees are not cheap," Oscar explained.
"It seems like Mr. Davis is quite ambitious," William said casually. He didn't expect Mr. Davis to come up with the idea of openly training his armed forces in a martial arts school.
"Yes, Mr. Davis is indeed ambitious. He was already planning to expand to the South district, but Boss Jones intervened in the East district. I'm sure Mr. Davis must be getting anxious," Oscar analyzed.
"So, who do you think has a better chance?" William asked tentatively.
"It's fifty-fifty! Boss Jones may be new to Long Island, but his momentum is strong. He even acquired Wind Group, a company worth billions of dollars. This is impressive and shows how powerful he is. Furthermore, Ralph is there to help him. It's possible that he might really snatch Mr. Davis's position in the East district," Oscar said.
After finishing his analysis, Oscar changed the subject. "However, Mr. Davis has been operating in the East district for many years, and he has the support of Bevery Club. This snake might actually beat Boss Jones, the dragon."
Oscar's precise analysis impressed William, who nodded in agreement. It was evident that Oscar had a clear understanding of the current situation in the East district. Then his eyes shifted, and he asked again, "If someone wants to frame Mr. Davis, where should they start? You know, hit where it hurts. What is Mr. Davis's weak point?"
"Mr. Davis is cautious in his actions. He keeps his wife and children well hidden, making it impossible for anyone to find them. As for his vulnerabilities, let me think!" Oscar continued to ponder while taking a sip of his drink.
After a moment, Oscar suddenly remembered something.
"Oh, wait, Mr. Davis has a mistress. She's staying at Forest Villa. He visits her every Wednesday afternoon! I pass by the Forest Villa on my way to the office, and I always see him going in to meet his mistress. This could be considered his weak point."
A glimmer flashed in William's eyes; this seemed like a good starting point.
"By the way, William, why are you asking about this?" Oscar asked.
"I'm just curious," William said as he poured a glass of wine for Oscar.
Oscar was beginning to see William in a different light. Despite his humble background, his abilities and connections were indeed strong. Even someone like Antony, a prominent figure on Long Island, could be persuaded to help him with just a word. It showed how capable he really was.
With these thoughts in mind, Oscar suddenly leaned closer to William and said, "William, could you introduce me to Boss Jones? I really want to get to know him."
Oscar wanted to befriend Antony through William. Once he established a relationship with Antony, he wouldn't have to fear anyone in the East district anymore. Moreover, Antony's investment company could be of great help to him. His own company's financial situation was precarious, which was why he took the risk of competing with Raymond for that business opportunity, as he had no other choice.
"Boss Jones has been quite busy lately. You can discuss your matters with me," William said casually.
"Really? Then, can you talk to Boss Jones and ask him to invest 100 million dollars in my company? I'll give him 30% of the shares," Oscar said with hopeful eyes.
"No problem, I'll talk to him for you," William assured him while patting his chest.
"That's great! William, you're truly thoughtful. From now on, we're friends," Oscar said, becoming slightly drunk, treating William as a younger brother.
William shook his head. He didn't expect Oscar to act this way when he was drunk.
It was late when William finally returned to Garden Villa. However, once he arrived, he immediately had someone investigate Mr. Davis's mistress at Forest Villa. He felt that this mistress might be hiding some secrets.
