Chapter 271 Sorry, I Have a VIP Invitation

In the face of Kris, Paige, and Todd's ridicule, William remained calm. He didn't even take these clowns seriously.

"Sophia, wait for me here. I'll go and get the invitation. I'll be back soon," he said to Sophia.

"William, are you really going?" Sophia thought William was just joking, but he stood up without hesitation.

"Of course. Just wait for me." William smiled and left.

Paige and the others looked disdainful and contemptuous.

"He is just a poor person who thinks he has become part of high society just because he appeared on a popular variety show. It's so delusional."

"Exactly! People like him think a variety show can turn them into nobility." Kris belittled William with much effort.

"Some people overestimate themselves." Todd shook his head. He disliked arrogant young people who thought making a decent variety show made them a big shot.

"That's enough. There's no need to mock my friend like this!" Sophia stared angrily at them. If she had known this would happen, she wouldn't have come to this charity event.

"What's there to be angry about? We were just speaking the truth. Is it necessary to get so upset? You should know that anger is bad for your skin!" Paige gloated in her heart, feeling satisfied. She wanted to humiliate Sophia and her friend in front of everyone, especially after Sophia stole her advertisement contract.

Meanwhile, William left his seat and went to a corner to make a phone call to Ralph, asking for his help in getting another invitation.

"No problem, sir. I'll bring it to you right away," Ralph replied quickly over the phone.

"Have someone deliver it to Table 38. I'll be waiting there." William gave Ralph further instructions, satisfied with his efficiency.

"Okay, sir. I'll send it to you in five minutes," Ralph said.

"Alright, thank you," William said before hanging up the phone and then went straight back to table 38.

"Aren't you supposed to get the invitation? Why did you come back empty-handed?" Kris asked with a teasing smirk on his face. He was the first to notice that William returned without anything in his hands.

"If you don't have the status to be here, then you should know your place and go back where you belong. This is not a place for you to sit!" Todd couldn't help but mock him again.

Paige wore an arrogant and mocking expression.

"Your friend has a thick skin! He's still sitting here so calmly. I really admire his resilience!" she exclaimed.

Sophia was irritated by their words. She stood up from her seat with an unpleasant expression and said, "William, let's go! I feel cheap eating with these low-quality people."

She was about to leave, but William held her back.

"Don't worry, someone will bring my invitation soon."

"Look at him! He's still being arrogant here. Who do you think you are?" Kris taunted.

"Some people are just shameless..." Todd didn't finish his sentence when a beautiful server approached table 38, carrying a golden invitation.

"Hello, which one of you is William Brown?"

"That's me," William replied calmly.

"Hello, Mr. Brown. This is your VIP invitation. You can sit at any table you like!" the server said respectfully.

"Thank you! You can leave now." William took the golden invitation, threw it directly onto the table, and said indifferently, "Now I have the qualification to sit here, right?"

The people at the table were completely stunned. Kris was so shocked that he couldn't find words to speak. This golden VIP invitation was not something an ordinary person could get. It was typically sent to a conglomerate with a net worth of over 100 billion dollars.

"How… How is this possible? How could this poor guy get a VIP invitation?" Kris was stunned.

Even Paige was astonished by this sudden VIP invitation and didn't know what to say.

"This person actually managed to get an invitation, and a VIP one at that? How is this possible? He clearly lacks the aristocratic demeanor!" Todd was also shocked. The golden VIP invitation felt like a slap in his face, making him feel embarrassed.

Even Sophia was surprised, but seeing the embarrassed faces of Paige and the others, she felt thrilled and said, "I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you. Actually, William has another identity. He just prefers to keep a low profile. I wasn't supposed to mention it, but with this misunderstanding today, I feel a bit guilty."

William laughed at Sophia's sarcasm.

Paige and Kris smiled awkwardly and didn't dare to reply.

"Since all of you think I don't belong here, I'll go back to where I should be. The VIP seats are in the front, right? Sorry, everyone, but Sophia and I are heading to the VIP section. You can stay here at the regular seats!"

While speaking, William glanced at Todd and Kris, instantly darkening their expressions.

They had previously mocked William, saying he didn't deserve to be here. Now, he indeed shouldn't be here. He was going to the VIP section, which was much more prestigious than their ordinary table. Once again, it was a blow to their faces.

"Let's go, Sophia," said William with a smile, holding the golden VIP invitation in his hands.

"Sure! These low-class people don't deserve to sit with us. Let's go," Sophia said triumphantly.

Paige and Kris's faces couldn't be any uglier upon hearing this.

William took Sophia's hand and walked forward, simultaneously searching for the table where Karson was sitting. As long as they sat at the same table, he would be able to know his movements immediately.

"William, how did you get that VIP invitation?" Sophia asked.

"I'll explain later," William replied, scanning the hall with his eyes. Soon, his gaze fell upon table number eight, and a slight smile formed at the corner of his mouth. "Finally found you, Karson." He then led Sophia toward table eight, knowing that he could sit at any table with his VIP invitation.
