Chapter 297 Fiancée Meets Girlfriend
After taking the pill, William hid it in his pocket. Regardless of whether it was real or fake, he would take it first and decide later. Moreover, this fortune teller seemed to have some credibility, so he might actually be of use in the future.
"Thank you. If I can truly use it, I will definitely express my gratitude later," William thanked him politely.
"We will have three encounters in this lifetime. There's no need for you to come and thank me in person. We will naturally meet again when the time comes," The fortune teller spoke in a profound and unpredictable manner.
William smirked. This fortune teller was even more arrogant than him. He was impressed.
"Well, I look forward to our next meeting."
William stood up. He was about to leave when he saw Michelle and Julia appearing behind him. They had used the location he sent to find him.
"William, do you believe in this stuff?" Michelle glanced at the fortune teller with interest.
"Just taking a look. Do you want to try?" William wanted this fortune teller to read Michelle's palm, especially to know if they would have a future together. Of course, he wouldn't rely entirely on the fortune teller.
"Sure, what should I ask? About love?" Michelle giggled flirtatiously. She then sat in front of the fortune teller.
William smiled and took out one hundred dollars, placing it on the fortune teller's table. "Help her predict it."
The fortune teller squinted and flipped through the tarot cards based on the information Michelle provided. After a while, he nodded and said, "Your fortune is good, but there is a hurdle in your life. If you pass it, your future will be beautiful. If not, you may sink into an abyss."
This statement was rather confusing. Who leads a completely smooth life without any obstacles?
"What hurdle is it? How do I get past it?" Michelle asked curiously.
"You need to pay an additional one thousand dollars. I can tell you how to overcome it," the fortune teller said, asking for more money.
Seeing this, William criticized him inwardly. This fortune teller scammed everyone, but somehow he felt that he was scamming them well. That could be considered a skill.
William didn't waste time. He took out one thousand dollars from his wallet and placed it on the table. "Tell me quickly!"
"Getting through this hurdle is simple. A child!" After saying this, the fortune teller collected the money from the table and started packing up his things, preparing to close shop.
"Child?" William and Michelle exchanged a glance. Michelle's face quickly turned crimson. Wasn't he implying that they were going to have a child?
Michelle instinctively thought of Katharine, who had always disapproved of her marriage to William. Could it be that she was going to have a child with William? That way, even if her mother didn't agree, she would still have to accept it. Thinking this, Michelle found the fortune teller's suggestion quite appealing.
William, on the other hand, furrowed his brows and couldn't figure out the reasoning behind it. Why a child? The fortune teller must be playing tricks!
"Alright, I'm closing up!" The fortune teller said as he finished packing up and prepared to leave.
However, Julia intercepted him and said, "I also want a fortune reading!"
"I'm fully booked for today. If fate allows, we'll see each other next time!" The fortune teller said arrogantly. He then packed his belongings and left.
"This fortune teller is clearly a scammer!" Kylie complained with a dissatisfied expression. She didn't care about that small amount of money, but she was very unsatisfied with the fortune-telling result she just received.
"Do you really think there are people in this world who can see into the future?" Fiona chimed in, also sounding dissatisfied. "This fortune-teller was talking nonsense, saying William would become incredibly wealthy. That's clearly impossible!"
"With his poverty, he'll never have money in a million lifetimes," Kylie added.
William was speechless. Just how much did these two look down on him!
On the other hand, Sophia's gaze fell on Michelle. She saw her holding William's arm affectionately. She had a slightly complicated expression.
She hesitated for a moment and then asked, "William, won't you introduce us?"
Only then did William realize he hadn't introduced them yet. "This is Michelle, my girlfriend, and this is Julia, Michelle's friend."
He also introduced Sophia, Kylie, and Fiona to Michelle and her friend.
After the introductions were done, Julia jumped up excitedly.
"Are you really Sophia? You're my idol! Can I take a photo with you?"
Sophia, of course, wouldn't refuse such a request. She even took off her mask to take a photo with her. However, when her gaze fell on William, she felt a sense of disappointment and sadness in her heart.
Michelle also became interested and handed her phone to William, saying, "William, can you take a photo of the two of us?"
"Sure!" William nodded. As he picked up the phone and aimed at Michelle and Sophia, who were leaning against each other, a bitter smile appeared on his face.
An engaged woman and a girlfriend. If he exposed his identity, he didn't know how it would end.
After taking a photo of the two beautiful ladies, William returned the phone to Michelle and said loudly, "Let's go eat some delicious food!"
"Yay! I'm starving," Fiona exclaimed excitedly.
Speaking of food, Sophia temporarily pushed aside her worries.
After they arrived at Garden Villa in the evening, Fiona went to do livestreaming, and Kylie went to take a shower.
Sophia, who was both physically and mentally exhausted, lay on the sofa and didn't want to move. However, when she closed her eyes, all she could see in her mind were the intimate moments between William and Michelle, making her feel restless and uncomfortable.
"What's wrong with me?" Sophia shook her head harshly, trying to shake their images out of her mind.
"Sophia, your feet... Do you want me to give you a massage?" When William saw Sophia collapse on the sofa, he wanted to give her a massage. He had learned a few massage techniques from Wendy, and they were quite effective.
William had good intentions, but Sophia sat up from the sofa and refused stubbornly.
"Don't touch me!" After a pause, she continued, "And there's something I need to tell you. I have a fiancé, so it's best for you to keep your distance from me."
"You have a fiancé? Why haven't I heard you mention it before?" William pretended not to know, though he couldn't help but chuckle inside.
"Why should I tell you? You have a girlfriend too, but you didn't tell me," Sophia said angrily, though her tone was filled with jealousy.
"You didn't ask me either, did you? By the way, is your fiancé handsome like me?" William continued teasing her.
"Of course! Not only is he more handsome than you, but he's also wealthier and more talented! Basically, he's better than you in every way. I'm tired, I'm going to sleep."
Sophia couldn't say anything else because she had never met her fiancé, and she didn't even know his name.
