Chapter 183 Breaking Free
William didn't expect Scaley to ambush him outside Michelle's house. It seemed that he already knew where Michelle lived. This unexpected move caught William off guard!
"What do we do now, William? There are so many of them," Michelle's voice trembled with fear, and she didn't dare to open the car door and get out.
"Don't worry, hold on tight!" William smiled confidently. Did they think they could catch him with just a few people? He had faced much bigger threats before, this was a mere twenty-something individuals.
Before Michelle could react, William revved the engine and drove straight into the crowd of people. Scaley and his gang were taken aback and retreated to the sides, afraid to physically block the car.
"Let's see who can stop me!" William smirked and pressed the accelerator.
The Ferrari's engine roared loudly as it sprinted down the road in the villa complex, leaving Scaley and his gang behind.
"Chase him, don't let him get away!" Scaley angrily cursed and immediately got into his Maserati. However, since his left hand was injured, he had to let Agustin drive.
The remaining subordinates quickly got into the van and chased after them.
William glanced at the rearview mirror and saw the Maserati closely following him, with the other vans trailing behind.
"This could be interesting, let's have a race!" William raised an eyebrow. He had never raced before, but it seemed he was forced to experience some thrilling moments now.
Once they left the villa complex, they were on the main road. As it was late evening; there weren't many vehicles or pedestrians around. Thus, enabling William to really press down on the accelerator, heading towards the East district, which was the closest direction. The speed increased, and the engine roared.
"William, please be careful," Michelle grabbed onto the handle above her head, her face pale. It was the first time she had experienced such a fast speed, and it made her heart race. She was worried that something might happen with William driving so recklessly.
"Michelle, hold on tight," William said while checking the rearview mirror. The Maserati stayed right behind them, while the vans were gradually falling far behind. After all, they were in completely different leagues when it came to cars.
It seemed like this was now a race between sports cars, something that William never imagined would happen when he had bought the Ferrari supercar.
While speeding, William quickly dialed Vicente's number through the Bluetooth headset.
In the East district, Vicente...
Vicente is the closest person to contact for rescue, and William plans to launch a defensive counterattack this time. Since Scaley knows Michelle's address, there is no guarantee that he won't target Michelle again next time. So, he needs to teach him a lesson; otherwise, he might think he's easy to bully.
The phone was quickly answered, and William got straight to the point.
"Vicente, bring all your men to the abandoned temple in the East district suburbs and wait for me." William remembered that there was an abandoned temple in the suburbs of the East district, where there were few people. It would be perfect to lead Scaley and his gang there.
"Yes, Mr. Brown, I'll gather everyone right away!" Vicente didn't dare to be negligent and quickly put down all his work to call people and assemble them.
After hanging up the phone, William focused all his attention on the high-speed chase. The Maserati behind him was constantly tailgating, with a tendency to overtake him, so William had to speed up to around two hundred and four.
The speed of the Ferrari was too fast, intensifying the sensation of acceleration.
Michelle's back was tightly pressed against the seatback as she held onto the sides with both hands. She looked pale and uncomfortable, but she didn't say anything and endured it, afraid of distracting William while driving.
"Michelle, hold on a little longer, and we'll be in the East district suburbs." William comforted her.
"William, focus on driving, don't mind me." Michelle bit her delicate lip, showing a stubborn look on her face. Although she was already in discomfort, she stubbornly refrained from distracting William in any way.
The Maserati following behind failed to overtake several times, making Scaley, who was sitting in the car, extremely angry.
"Chase him. If we don't finish him tonight, I won't be able to sleep peacefully." Scaley shouted loudly, using his phone to start real-time location sharing with his companions in the van behind. This way, even if they lost sight of William, they could still track him in the right direction.
"Don't worry, tonight he won't escape." Agustin's gaze was sinister, like an eagle, never daring to relax as he stared at the Ferrari in front of him, determined to chase it down like a fleeing rabbit and kill it.
"I'm just afraid you won't catch up." William saw the Maserati constantly chasing behind in the rearview mirror and felt relieved. He was afraid that Scaley would give up, rendering his trap at the abandoned temple useless.
William drove with the Maserati in circles on the roads of the suburbs, making sure enough time had passed before heading towards the abandoned temple.
Under the cover of the night, the road leading to the abandoned temple had little traffic, and the two sports cars quickly sped through.
As they approached the abandoned temple, William purposely slowed down.
Scaley was delighted when he saw William's speed decrease. "He's done for, let's overtake him," Scaley finally saw a glimmer of hope.
"Yeah, they must be out of gas. But in this desolate wilderness, it's more suitable for us to take action," Agustin glanced at the abandoned temple outside and felt confident. In such a sparsely populated place, teaching someone a lesson seemed most appropriate.
Agustin seemed to be on the same page as William.
William's speed slowed down more and more until he eventually stopped in front of the abandoned temple.
"William, why did you stop? Did we lose Scaley?" Michelle's face turned pale, and she felt nauseous from motion sickness.
"We didn't lose them, but we don't have to fear him anymore. Let's get out of the car!" William opened the door and got out, while Michelle couldn't hold back her nausea. She quickly pushed open the door and ran out, squatting by the roadside to vomit.
William hurried to Michelle's side and gently patted her back, trying to make her more comfortable. He also sent a message to Vicente asking if he had arrived yet. Soon, Vicente replied that he would be at the abandoned temple in the East district in just over ten minutes.
With this information, William felt a sense of relief. He was determined to give Scaley a profound lesson with the trap he had set up.
At the same time, Agustin and Scaley also got off the Maserati, looking arrogant and smug, as if they had already won against William tonight.
"William, where do you think you're running to?" Scaley was extremely arrogant at this moment. He had already shared the location with his comrades in the van behind them. In just over ten minutes, they would be here, and then William would be a trapped turtle.
"I'm not running anymore. If you have the guts, come and catch me!" William said calmly, seemingly unconcerned about Scaley and Agustin's blockade.
"You arrogant bastard, let me; Agustin, teach you a lesson!" Agustin stepped forward. His burly figure and muscular build clearly showed his strength.
"That's fine, I want to see for myself!" William stepped forward. Recently, his strength had greatly increased, and he wanted to test his current combat ability. At the same time, he wanted to delay their time until Vicente arrived. That would be the moment when Scaley would cry.
"You arrogant bastard, I can kill you with just one punch!" After a loud roar, Agustin swiftly lunged at William like a leopard.
With the help of the nearby streetlights, William also leaped into action.
As the two approached each other, they both threw punches that collided in mid-air. A muffled grunt echoed, and the tremendous force caused both of them to take a few steps back.
Agustin while still stumbling as he took a few steps back, while William quickly regained his balance.
Agustin could feel a slight pain in his right hand after exchanging punches with William, which surprised him.
He didn't expect this person, who looked quite ordinary, to possess such strength! He was able to force me back with just one punch.
William, on the other hand, didn't feel much pain. He moved his right hand and relaxed his fist, then shouted excitedly, "Come on then, let's continue! What you waiting for?"
"Kill him! Show no mercy!" Scaley roared loudly from the side. He noticed that William was quite powerful, and if Agustin were to fight him alone, he might not win.
Fortunately; he had shared the real-time location with his buddies who were coming as reinforcements. As long as Agustin could hold off William for a dozen minutes, the twenty-plus brothers in the vans would quickly arrive and William would be trapped. Let's see where he can run then.
After a loud roar, Agustin unwillingly charged towards William.
The latter's gaze turned cold. This time, he didn't exchange punches. He had already experienced Agustin's strength and saw that they were evenly matched. It would be boring to continue head-on. With a quick flash, he easily avoided Agustin's punch.
In the blink of an eye, William took the opportunity to throw a punch towards Agustin's chest. Agustin blocked it with his hand, barely defending against William's sneak attack. But it wasn't over yet. William's elbow immediately followed, targeting Agustin's face.
Agustin didn't anticipate that William would strike so quickly. Caught off guard, his face was hit by William's elbow. Fortunately for him, he managed to tilt his head slightly at the last minute and lessened the blow. However, he still stumbled from the impact.
Agustin touched his bruised cheek and became extremely furious.
"You bastard, you're done for." Agustin was, after all, the leader of a security team, and he still had his dignity.
With these words, he threw punches at William, showing more determination this time. Fist after fist, Agustin attacked William relentlessly. The intense barrage of punches seemed to corner William, but he remained calm.
After dodging another punch, William swiftly lowered his body and swept his leg, causing Agustin to fall to the ground. This low sweeping move was something William learned from Sharon, and it proved to be quite effective. He used it instinctively.
Surprisingly, Agustin quickly stood up after being knocked down. His reflex and reaction speed impressed William.
"You're quite quick to react. But-"
"I'm not your match," William said calmly.
"Is that so?" Agustin temporarily stopped attacking. After several attempts, he realized that a head-on confrontation with William might not be favorable for him. Now, he could only buy some time until his comrades arrived.
But just as Agustin wanted to delay, so too did William. They had the same idea!
Ten minutes later, Scaley's men arrived first. After all, they had been closely chasing behind. It was not surprising that they arrived first.
Three vans quickly stopped in front of the abandoned temple. Then, more than twenty people got off the vans, each exuding a menacing aura.
Scaley became immediately excited and thrilled upon seeing this.
"Surround this man for me!" Scaley shouted, pointing at William. He felt confident in his imminent victory.
Michelle, however, was terrified and pale when she saw this. She quickly hid behind William, trembling involuntarily. With so many people surrounding them, how could they possibly expect a good outcome?
"William, what should we do now?" Michelle was fearful and nervous. Facing such a large group of people, it was only natural for a delicate young girl to feel scared.
"Don't worry, I have everything arranged! There won't be any problem!" William embraced Michelle's shoulder, trying to comfort her.
"William, I wonder where you'll run off to this time," Scaley laughed maniacally upon seeing more than twenty of his comrades surrounding William and Michelle.
"Why should I run? But you better not try to run later," William smirked, because he spotted Vicente's convoy had also arrived.
The sound of car horns resounded through the entire abandoned temple as more than ten vans successively stopped in front of it. Over a hundred people got off the vans. Leading them was the person in black, Vicente, with a solemn expression.
"Surround them! Don't let anyone escape!" Vicente, who had just stepped out of his car, saw immediately that William was surrounded. He became extremely anxious and quickly ordered his men to counter-surround Scaley's group.
When Scaley saw that Vicente and his men had surrounded them, he became shocked and pale.
"Who is this person? Do you know him, Agustin?" Scaley was not familiar with Vicente and could only turn to Agustin beside him.
"He is Vicente from the East district. How did he suddenly bring his men here tonight?" Agustin couldn't understand why Vicente had suddenly appeared here, but he quickly figured it out.
After passing through the crowd, Vicente walked straight to William and respectfully apologized.
"Mr. Brown, I am sorry for being late and causing you distress."
"You did not come late, you came just in time," William said, a slight smile forming at the corner of his mouth.
Upon seeing this, Scaley and Agustin were instantly shocked. Vicente was actually called here by William? What's going on? How could a poor man like him command Vicente, someone influential in the East district? Scaley was now completely unsettled.
