Chapter 146 Capturing Prey in the Jaws of a Tiger
Kayla walked at the front, while William and Sharon followed behind. The three of them quickly arrived at the entrance of the Sparrow Club, where a bald middle-aged man was waiting. He had a thick gold necklace hanging around his neck. He was Isaac.
"Kayla, you're here!" Isaac greeted Kayla and walked toward her. His narrow eyes swept over her, completely ignoring William and Sharon behind her, as if Kayla was the only person in his sight.
"Long time no see," Kayla exchanged pleasantries with him.
Isaac wanted to take the opportunity to touch Kayla inappropriately, but she easily deflected him. Then she introduced William and Sharon.
"Let's go inside! My friend will be here soon." Although Isaac didn't get to flirt with Kayla, he wasn't angry. However, he had little interest in getting to know William and Sharon.
Isaac led Kayla, William, and Sharon inside.
The private club was decorated luxuriously with marble floors, fountains, and gardens. There were also many security personnel on duty, and even guard dogs were kept here. The defense system was quite impressive.
Isaac led the three of them into a rather secluded meeting room.
"Kayla, wait here for a few minutes. Bund will be here soon!" After saying that, Isaac turned and left, leaving William and the others in the closed meeting room.
"William, do you have confidence?" Kayla was worried. Isaac's gaze toward her was quite creepy. If something unexpected happened later, she was afraid she would be in trouble.
"What do you think?" William smiled faintly, then looked around the closed meeting room.
He noticed two surveillance cameras monitoring the room. He glanced at his phone and was relieved to see that he had signal, enabling him to inform Levi outside.
William sat down calmly, while Sharon quietly remained by his side. Only Kayla paced nervously in the room.
"You better sit down. There are surveillance cameras here, and they might catch on to us if we're not careful," William reminded her casually.
Kayla finally sat down on a chair, but her mind was still unsettled. Isaac had fifty to sixty people outside, along with big guard dogs, while they were only three. The strength difference was staggering. Kayla couldn't help but feel terrified at William's plan to capture Bund. Her palms were sweating nervously.
After more than ten minutes, the meeting room door opened again, and a man wearing a black mask walked in. He wore a black suit and had a somewhat gloomy temperament. Isaac followed closely behind him.
"Kayla, this is Bund. Discuss whatever business you have with him now, but don't forget to stay behind and have dinner with me later," Isaac eagerly said.
After saying that, Isaac left and closed the door behind him.
"Hello, Bund. I'm Kayla," Kayla introduced herself, standing up.
"Go ahead and tell me why you wanted to see me. My services don't come cheap." Bund's voice was deep. He seemed uninterested in Kayla and did not even spare her a glance. He went straight to the point.
"It's my friend who wanted to find you," Kayla said. William stood up from his chair, calmly fixing his gaze on this masked man.
"Do you remember the Ron Real Estate construction site? Did you order those thugs to cause trouble? Who paid you to do it?" William didn't beat around the bush.
"Sorry, I can't reveal my client's identity." Pinned down, Bund remained composed. It seemed he was confident in the security of this place.
"How much money will it take for you to talk?" William believed that things that could be solved with money should be solved with money, to avoid any violent confrontations.
"Sorry, sir. As a professional, the first principle I abide by is client confidentiality. No matter how much money you offer, I won't speak," Bund said calmly, completely disregarding William.
"Do you really refuse to speak?" William's tone grew colder.
"I really can't. It's a matter of my reputation. If you came here merely to ask about this, then your visit was in vain," Bund nonchalantly replied, unaffected by William's threat.
"Well then, don't blame me for being impolite." William's lips curled coldly, causing Kayla's face to turn pale. She was scared of what might happen next.
"William, let's calm down," Kayla said, but before she could finish speaking, Sharon quickly moved toward Bund and tried to catch him. She was incredibly fast.
However, Bund seemed to know martial arts as well and managed to dodge her attack with a sidestep.
Sharon changed her move midway and instead grabbed Bund's shoulder, pulling him with great force and bringing him closer.
Bund's face changed drastically at this moment. He never expected this woman to have such strength and pull him toward her with such power.
But Bund was not weak either. After being pulled back by Sharon, he immediately counterattacked with a swift and fierce punch, accompanied by a subtle whistling sound.
Seeing this, William furrowed his brow. It was fortunate that he brought Sharon along; otherwise, with his limited skills, he wouldn't stand a chance against Bund.
William quickly sent a message to Levi outside, asking him to bring reinforcements as soon as possible.
Sharon and Bund continued to exchange fierce blows.
Watching them, Kayla's heart raced in fear. Thankfully, Sharon was slightly stronger. She successfully suppressed Bund and gained the upper hand in both technique and speed.
"Thinking of catching me? Fools! Everyone outside is on my side," Bund exclaimed, breathing heavily after barely escaping Sharon's grip. Aware of the numerous enemies seeking revenge, he had always been cautious in his actions.
Although Sharon's strength exceeded his expectations, Bund was still confident. With Isaac's fifty to sixty subordinates outside, there was no way William and his companions could capture him.
"Is that so?" William smiled faintly. He knew Levi had already entered the club with his group.
"Sharon, don't let him escape," William said. Just as the words left his mouth, Sharon swiftly charged toward Bund again. Realizing he couldn't confront her, he opened the meeting room door, intending to call Isaac for help. However, as soon as the door opened, Sharon kicked him forcefully in the back, sending him flying several meters away.
As he tried to get up, Sharon pounced on him.
"Don't you dare run!" William, with Kayla by his side, emerged from the meeting room as well.
"Don't get too cocky. Isaac will be here soon with his men, and you won't be able to escape," Bund said, unable to resist Sharon's grip. He realized just how strong this woman was.
"William, we've caught him. Let's hurry and run!" Kayla said, frightened as she noticed someone approaching with a menacing dog.
"No need to run," William calmly reassured her.
Kayla was stunned. He was surrounded by such dangerous people, yet he remained so composed. Could he really be so arrogant?
Quickly, many people arrived outside the meeting room. Isaac led the way, followed by several others, including a large wolf dog that kept barking incessantly.
"What's going on?" Isaac rushed over and saw Sharon holding Bund back.
"We've been tricked. These people didn't come to negotiate a deal with me, they came to capture me. Take them down quickly," Bund, although being restrained by Sharon, managed to speak.
"Kayla, you've gone too far! I invited Bund here because of your request, and now you want to capture him!" Isaac's expression changed, and when he looked at Kayla, he couldn't hide his anger.
Kayla didn't know how to explain to him. Seeing the three of them surrounded by Isaac's subordinates, she felt terrified, but William remained calm.
