Chapter 257 Bad Moral Character?
After driving Gregory and his students away, William finally breathed a sigh of relief. The kidnapping plots arranged by the Graham family came one after another and were getting more difficult to handle. They almost succeeded, but thanks to William's meticulous planning and arrangement, he managed to successfully rescue Sophia.
"Thank you, William." Sophia's mood calmed down a bit. The scene just now was truly terrifying. If it weren't for William, she would have been kidnapped by now. Just thinking about it made her shudder.
"It's okay. From now on, you need to be more careful, as there are people who want to kidnap you, and they are all expert martial artists! You should stay at my place for the next few days. There's someone there that you must be eager to see." William thought of Master Smith in the villa.
With Madelyn's care in recent days, Master Smith's health had gradually recovered. He would be delighted to see Sophia and Kylie.
"Stay at your place? Isn't that inappropriate?" Sophia hesitated. She thought about having to live with William again and suddenly felt both nervous and excited.
"What's inappropriate about that? Not only will we live together in the future, but I'll also accompany you when we go out. Otherwise, you might get kidnapped." William thought that the Graham family had not been overthrown yet, so they would surely target Sophia again. Hence, ensuring her safety meant being her bodyguard.
"So you mean we have to be together every day from now on?" Sophia asked, with a slight hint of anticipation in her heart.
"Yes, from now on, I'll be your personal bodyguard!" William nodded in agreement.
"If you are with me every day, does that mean you won't work anymore?" Sophia asked with concern in her eyes.
"My assistant will handle the work. Your safety is the priority now. Besides, aren't we shooting the second season of 'Wilderness Life' next week? Ensuring your safety is important for a smooth production." William thought for a moment and found the best excuse to respond.
"Oh, so it's to ensure a smooth production."
Suddenly, Sophia felt a little disappointed. It turned out that William was protecting her only to ensure a smooth production. She didn't know why she felt a bit disappointed upon hearing this news.
"What else did you expect? Stop overthinking." After comforting her, William turned to check on Beauvoir's injury. He had hurt his shoulder during the fight with Gregory, so he had to see how bad the injury was.
On the way back, Sophia leaned back in the seat of the business car and closed her eyes to rest. She was exhausted after singing for three hours and experiencing a life-or-death situation, which quickly put her to sleep.
However, in her dream, the scene of William risking his life to save her played over and over again, touching her deeply. But in the end, he told her that the only reason he had fought so hard was to ensure a smooth production.
Seeing Sophia asleep in the car, William took off his coat and covered her, afraid that she might catch a cold.
Kylie, on the other hand, was sitting in the passenger seat of the business car and also fell asleep from exhaustion.
The car soon stopped in front of the Garden Villa. William woke up Sophia, who wore a sleepy look and leaned tiredly on the seat, not wanting to get off.
"William, I'm too sleepy. I don't want to get out-"
Sophia was indeed exhausted and sleepy. Her body really couldn't bear it anymore.
"Then you keep sleeping. I'll carry you down!" William said as he lifted her up. Sophia's weight was a piece of cake for William.
Sophia let out a soft whimper at the sight of William carrying her in his arms. It instinctively made her feel a bit shy, but exhausted and sleepy as she was, she felt a sense of warmth and security in William's arms, and eventually buried her head in his embrace, falling asleep like a little cat.
William smiled and carried her into the villa. He gave her his own bed and arranged for Kylie to stay in his room too, letting the two of them sleep on one bed.
Many of the martial arts team members and a few injured ones came later, and it was impossible to accommodate all these people in one villa. So William promptly occupied the two adjacent villas as well.
After all, the Garden Villa was owned by the DQ Group. He would just tell Ralph later.
The team members had been risking their lives with William, and it would be heartless to not even provide them a place to sleep. If that were the case, it would disappoint them, and who would still be willing to follow him so devotedly?
With everything settled, it was already approaching dawn, and William was the last one to go to sleep. This intense and thrilling day finally came to an end.
The warm morning sunlight shone on Sophia's delicate and exquisite face, causing her to open her eyes slightly. She seemed to sense a familiar aroma of meat, making her stomach growl with hunger.
"It smells so good." Only the aroma of good food could wake up Sophia. However, as she looked around the unfamiliar room, she became alert, still haunted by last night's events.
"Where are we?" Sophia noticed Kylie lying beside her and quickly woke her up. "Kylie, wake up, where are we?"
"William brought us here last night. Don't disturb me, I still want to sleep," Kylie said and went back to sleep. Suddenly, she smelled the delicious aroma too and sat up from the bed.
"It smells really good!"
The two glanced at each other, almost simultaneously thinking of the food William cooked. They quickly put on their shoes, opened the door, and saw many people in the foyer.
Sharon, Baca, Lillian, Madelyn, Hunter, Tristan, Maxwell, and so on, there were at least ten of them.
"There are so many people here. Are they all William's friends?" Kylie looked bewildered, not expecting William to have such a wide circle of friends. Looking at their attire, they clearly weren't wealthy people.
"Birds of a feather flock together." Kylie secretly made the connection between William and these people.
They were classified into the level of the poor. Moreover, when Kylie saw so many people with bad moral character here, her face instantly turned cold. How could Sophia, a famous singer and the daughter of a noble family, stay with these people? What if something happened? Who would be responsible?
"What about William?" Sophia asked weakly as she approached. Among all these people, she only knew Sharon a little, who seemed to be William's cousin. She didn't recognize the others at all.
"He's in the kitchen." Sharon pointed to William inside.
"Perfect, I was looking for him." Kylie walked over with a bit of frustration. She wanted to question William. If she had known that he would arrange for them to stay with these people, she would have definitely objected.
"William, what do you mean? How could you arrange for Sophia to stay with these people of bad moral character? Who will take responsibility if something happens? Do you know how many paparazzi are watching her now? If these people don't keep their mouths shut, Sophia's whereabouts will be exposed. Can you afford that responsibility?" Kylie entered the kitchen and began questioning William immediately.
William furrowed his brows. Kylie actually insulted Baca, Hunter, and the others by calling them people with bad moral character. This displeased him. He was about to reprimand her when suddenly a deep and loud voice came from outside the kitchen.
"Am I also one of those people with bad moral character in your eyes, Kylie? What do you mean?"
Upon hearing this voice, everyone turned to look, only to see Master Smith glaring at Kylie with anger on his face.
