Chapter 263 Danger Signals, Temporary Island Switch
The day of filming for "Wilderness Life" quickly approached. However, before setting off, William received an important message from Riley. It was short but impactful.
"Timothy is dead, and Karson has taken over."
Riley didn't know much beyond this information. She was now on the outskirts and couldn't access more core details. Moreover, Arturo's actions this time were highly confidential, known by only a few.
Riley was even more clueless.
"Timothy is dead? And who is Karson?" William furrowed his brow, feeling that Karson was ruthless. Otherwise, how could he easily dispose of Timothy? He immediately sent a message to Antony, asking him to quickly investigate Karson's background.
Members of the Graham family will definitely continue to send people to capture Sophia, and perhaps even attempt to assassinate her. After all, Sophia's identity holds immense leverage.
By threatening the Smith family and disrupting their alliance with the Brown family, they can reap great benefits. They won't give up on capturing Sophia, that's for certain.
"It seems that this island filming won't be peaceful. I need to plan ahead." William pondered for a while, cautiously deciding to switch to another deserted island for filming.
"I have to change the island for filming. The Graham family will certainly find out which deserted island we plan to film on. If we were to go there now, we would be falling into their ambush."
Though this was just William's speculation, filming on another island was still possible, and it would significantly reduce the level of danger.
With this in mind, William made his decision. He had no intention of informing anyone for now because he suspected that there might be someone within the team who had been bribed, just like Sophia's makeup artist before.
Money could accomplish many things, so it was better to be cautious after being deceived once.
In addition to switching islands for filming, William also decided to bring along the dozens of experts from the Garden Villa. With their protection, the safety level would be greatly increased.
Once everything was ready, William began leading the team onto the ship.
Apart from the boundless sea, Long Island had numerous islands, ranging from large to small, totaling over a thousand.
The larger islands had inhabitants, but the smaller ones were uninhabitable and desolate.
Originally, the filming location was set to be on the 148th deserted island. However, considering the potential leaks about the filming location, William decided to temporarily switch to the 226th deserted island.
It's a small island with a radius of five kilometers.
Although it is barren, the pristine ecology remains untouched. There is a small mountain and an inland lake, making it perfect for filming.
"Let's go." William rented a large boat and took fifty to sixty people with him on board.
Fiona was ecstatic like a child, jumping around on the deck with excitement.
"This is my first time going to a deserted island. I can't wait to see if there are any wild rabbits or chickens. We can catch them and have a barbecue. It would also be nice to catch some fish and crabs," she said eagerly.
"No wild rabbits or chickens, but there might be venomous snakes. Would you like to roast and eat them?" William leaned against the railing and teased her with a smile.
"I'm not afraid of snakes," Fiona replied, feigning fearlessness. In front of William, she felt the need to show some confidence and not let him look down on her.
"Is that so? Then look at your feet. A sea snake has swum up!" William pointed to a hemp rope next to Fiona's feet and said with a serious expression.
Fiona instinctively looked down, and at a glance, the rope did resemble a snake. She quickly ran to Sophia's side with a pale face.
"Don't be afraid, that's just a hemp rope. William was tricking you." Sophia scolded William with a reproachful glance. Fiona then turned her head and took a closer look, confirming that it was indeed a rope, which made her feel both angry and resentful.
"William is annoying! He bullied me!" Fiona shook Sophia's arm, looking pitiful.
"Just bear with it. I can't handle him either," Sophia comforted her.
The boat sailed on the sea, with beautiful scenery and plenty of fish swimming in the ocean.
Beauvoir, Lillian, Baca, and Sharon were experiencing their first time at sea, finding everything on the ocean fascinating.
After about an hour on the boat, William saw that they were nearing their destination, so he posted a message in the production group, informing everyone to switch to Island 226. They needed to arrive before dark and start shooting in the morning.
After receiving the message about the island change, the production team members quickly turned their boats and hurried toward Island 226.
Meanwhile, on the deserted Island 148, Arturo, along with Zachary and twenty members of the Hawk Team, had been hiding since morning. They waited until evening without a sign of William's arrival.
"What's going on? The sun is almost setting. Why haven't they come?" Arturo stood on the beach, furrowing his brow as he looked at the endless sea.
"They might have changed the filming location to another island," Zachary said, stepping forward from beside him.
"William is indeed cautious. Go and find where they're headed." Arturo furrowed his brow. He realized William was not easy to deal with, despite being young. But he couldn't afford to lose again, or else he would be the one to die.
Zachary turned around and took out his phone to contact the insider implanted in the filming crew. Soon, he received the answer he wanted.
"Arturo, they switched to Island 226 temporarily. Should we take a boat and go there?" Zachary suggested.
"If we go by boat, won't that reveal our intention to them?" Arturo looked at the slowly setting sun, his eyes becoming sharp. He then turned around and said, "Wait until it's dark. Disembark from the boat one kilometer away from the island, and swim over. Since he wants to occupy the first-mover advantage by switching islands, we'll attack secretly."
