Chapter 201 Step by Step, I'll Make You Collapse
When William and his group arrived at Ring Villa in the West district, it was already late. They had thought that Kayla and Fiona would be asleep, but at the doorstep, William happened to meet Kayla, who had just returned from overtime at the North district branch office, looking tired.
"William, why are you here?" Kayla couldn't believe her eyes, surprise written all over her charming face. She thought she was seeing things, encountering William at such a late hour could easily be mistaken.
"Kayla, long time no see!" William greeted calmly with a smile.
Hearing his voice, Kayla finally confirmed that it was indeed William, and then...
Noting that he was covered in blood, as were the three people behind him, she immediately paled in fright.
"Why are you covered in blood too?"
"It's a long story. Let's talk inside first," William said and invited Hunter, Sharon, and Aurora into the villa before instructing them to take a shower.
Aurora and Sharon headed to the second-floor bathroom, while Hunter, being a man, went to the first-floor bathroom. William, on the other hand, didn't rush to shower and instead sat down with a serious expression to ask Kayla.
"Kayla, how is the subsidiary of the Garcia family's business going?"
Upon hearing this, a hint of a smile appeared on Kayla's tired face.
"The business is going smoothly! The three major families in the North district have all partnered with me. Currently, I have a virtual monopoly over the North district's markets for fabrics, leather, and fur! Additionally, with the recently signed WE ARE Chamber, I believe our market will expand beyond the North district."
Kayla spoke passionately, glancing at William briefly before expressing her gratitude.
"But all of this is thanks to you. It was because of you that the three major families in the North district decided to work with me."
William didn't refute her. He had indeed instructed Antony earlier to take care of Kayla, which allowed her to quickly open up the market in the North district.
"Haven't you always dreamt of becoming the chairperson of the Garcia Group? Now you're just a small step away from owning the final shares. Besides Norman, think about who else has shares." William said in all seriousness.
The CC Alliance was now on the verge of collapse. The Watson family, whether openly or covertly, couldn't do any substantial harm to the WE ARE Chamber. On the contrary, their situation was deteriorating, and the members of the alliance were getting increasingly anxious.
William had decided to pressure Dorian to withdraw from the CC Alliance. Once the Walsh family's support was lost, the collapse of the CC Alliance would be even closer. The final blow to the CC Alliance would come from the Garcia family.
As one of the leading members of the CC Alliance, if they announced their betrayal, it would completely shatter the confidence of the remaining members. It was estimated that from then on, regardless of how close the remaining members were to the Harrison family and the Watson family, they would choose to leave.
"The stakes are high. The move I made today forced the Harrison family to reveal their true colors, and the Watson family's side is crumbling. Once the CC Alliance collapses, our Garcia family can rise to power. This is the perfect opportunity for you, Kayla."
"The one who still holds shares should be my uncle Javier. He possesses 10% of the Garcia Group's shares and controls all of the Garcia Group's factories. Fabrics, leather, wool, and other materials are all produced under his supervision. If I can convince him to support me, my chances of becoming the chairman will greatly increase," Kayla said after pondering all of this.
"Alright, tomorrow you can take me to meet Javier! I already hold 45% of the Garcia Group's shares, and once we reach an agreement with him, we will have 55% of the voting rights in the Garcia Group. Then we can initiate a board election for the chairman!" William paused and continued.
"By then, I can make you the chairman, but there is one condition: make the Garcia Group withdraw from the CC Alliance and switch sides to the WE ARE Chamber."
Upon hearing this, Kayla was overwhelmed with excitement. Becoming the chairman of the Garcia Group was a long-awaited dream that she had been striving for, and she didn't expect this dream to be within her reach.
"No problem, but Javier is very loyal to the Garcia Group. He would never agree to have me, an illegitimate daughter, become the chairman," Kayla still expressed some concerns.
"I will make him agree," William said with a faint smile at the corner of his mouth, his tone revealing a hint of coldness.
The next morning, William called Antony.
He first asked about his injury and the issue of security. Then he inquired about Dorian, whether he had woken up or not.
"Sir, my leg injury is not a big deal for now, but I need to stay in the hospital for a week. Vicente, Levi, and Liam will take turns guarding me. The Watson family doesn't have a hope of coming near me again," Antony's confident voice came through the phone.
"As for Dorian, he woke up early this morning, but I have confined him to the hospital. There are many people watching him. Rest assured, Sir, I guarantee he won't be able to escape," Antony's voice continued.
"Well, find a way to make him withdraw from the CC Alliance," William said calmly.
The first step to counter the CC Alliance was to force the Walsh family to withdraw their support. Without the support of the Walsh family, William believed that many members would switch to the WE ARE Chamber. If he could successfully make the Garcia Group also switch to the WE ARE Chamber, it would be a fatal blow to the CC Alliance. It meant that they were already on the verge of losing.
"Okay, Sir. Please also take care of your safety while you're outside!" Antony expressed his concern.
Anthony still needed to ensure William's safety and prevent the Watson family from sending more people to harm him, he couldn't afford to let anything happen to William. "Don't worry, I have three experts protecting me. They won't be able to harm me," William reassured, giving him peace of mind in order to focus on his recovery.
After hanging up the phone, they all got into Kayla's business car and headed to the Garcia Group factory in the West district. The Garcia Group's headquarters were in the city center, but the factory was situated in the industrial park of the West district. With its large scale, consisting of six workshops and nearly three hundred employees, it was evident that this was a sizable facility.
A long drive and several minutes later, the car safely stopped at the entrance of the factory. Kayla led William and the others inside without any interference from the familiar security guards who recognized her as she often came here to order goods.
Guiding William and the others, Kayla led them straight to the office of the factory manager. Javier, wearing glasses, was sitting in his office, deep in concentration as he read through a few documents.
Javier, a middle-aged man in his fifties with a receding hairline, was dressed in a grey shirt. He had an honest and reliable appearance but there was a sharpness in his eyes. It was clear that he was not a simple character.
"Uncle, are you busy?" Kayla greeted Javier as she approached.
Javier glanced up at Kayla. He didn't particularly like this illegitimate daughter, but recently, she had been rapidly developing business in the North district. Javier couldn't underestimate her.
"Kayla, the goods requested by the North district won't be ready until this afternoon. There's no need for you to rush me. Even if you rush, it won't make a difference," Javier assumed that Kayla had come to urge him for the goods, but that wasn't the case.
"I'm not here to rush for the goods. I have something important to discuss with you," Kayla said, introducing William to Javier.
"This man is William Brown, the largest shareholder of our Garcia Group. He wants to discuss cooperation with you."
"William, the largest shareholder?" Javier put down the documents in his hand, raised his head, and carefully observed William. Noticing his young age, he furrowed his brows and said, "Are you from the Power Group?"
Javier didn't believe that someone as young as William could have any real power. At most, he was just someone running errands for a big corporation.
"Yes, you're indeed smart. I'm here today to save you and the Garcia Group," William smiled at the corner of his mouth and casually sat in the chair opposite Javier.
"The Power Group is considering..."
"Leveraging the acquisition of the Garcia Group, they think they can save us. How ridiculous," Javier mocked without restraint.
"Unless something unexpected happens, the Garcia Group will go bankrupt within a month, and you'll go from being a factory manager to an unemployed worker," William said with a smirk. He wasn't bluffing Javier. Once Dorian announced the departure from the CC Alliance, it was inevitable that the CC Alliance would decline.
"Do you think you can scare me? I don't believe that the Garcia Group will go bankrupt in a month," Javier replied, refusing to believe that the Garcia Group could face bankruptcy so soon. The recent increase in production volume at his factory indicated a prosperous outlook. How could they go bankrupt in just a month?
William knew Javier wouldn't believe him, so he continued, "The CC Alliance led by the Garcia Group is about to decline. The influence of WE ARE Chamber will grow, and its members will refuse to cooperate with you. Without orders, your company will soon be doomed."
"The Walsh family supports the CC Alliance!" Javier coldly retorted.
"Sorry, but the Walsh family has announced its withdrawal from the CC Alliance," William said with a smirk.
"What? That's impossible! Don't play tricks on me, I won't believe it," Javier stood up, wearing an incredulous expression.
"I'll make you believe," William said, initiating a video call with Antony via WhatsApp. He then directed the camera towards Dorian, who had suffered from Vicente's torment. Though he had many injuries, his spirit remained intact.
"Dorian, if you announce your departure from the CC Alliance, I promise to let you go," William spoke directly to Dorian through WhatsApp's video chat.
"William, you won't deceive me this time, right?" Dorian pleaded, feeling overwhelmed by the torment he had endured. William was like a demon to him.
"As long as you agree to leave the CC Alliance, I will release you without breaking my promise," William said earnestly.
Dorian's usefulness had all but diminished. After exhausting his value, keeping him around would be burdensome. At the moment, he didn't want to confront the mighty Walsh family directly, so extracting some benefits would suffice.
"Fine; as of right now I announce my departure from the CC Alliance!" Dorian gritted his teeth in the video.
"Very well, Vicente, prepare the paper for him to write it down and sign it!" William conveyed through WhatsApp's video chat.
They all sat watching the video chat as an already prepared Vicente handed the pen and paper to Dorian who immediately complied and signed.
After everything was done, William transferred the video to Javier.
"Now do you believe? You're the first person to witness Dorian leaving the CC Alliance," William said.
"You, you actually kidnapped Dorian. Aren't you afraid of retaliation from the Walsh family?" Javier was shocked. These people dared to kidnap Dorian, and their audacity scared him, causing him to take a good number of steps back, his face pale with shock.
"We are supported by Mr. Brown in the Guild, are we afraid of retaliation from the Walsh family?" William smirked.
Upon hearing this, Javier immediately deflated. That's right, they were supported by Mr. Brown.
"So, do you believe now?" William relaxed as he saw Javier's expression calming down.
"What do you want me to do?" Javier suddenly asked.
"It's simple. I want you to support Kayla as the new chairman of the Garcia Group with your 10% stake. Of course, after it's done, I can give you 5% of Norman's shares as a reward. If you don't agree, I have ways to make you agree," William said with a threatening tone.
Javier swallowed hard and glanced at Kayla again. He didn't expect this illegitimate daughter whom he never thought highly of to actually get in touch with the Power Group. It shocked and surprised him.
"I need time to consider this. It's a big deal," Javier needed time to think carefully. This was equivalent to a coup, and he couldn't make a blind decision.
"I'll give you three minutes to think. Whether you agree or not, I will make sure you support Kayla," William stated coldly, with an unchallengeable tone. William didn't have much time to waste on him.
Seeing William's cold gaze, Javier trembled all over. This person was too terrifying. He realized that if they dared to capture Dorian, someone as insignificant as him would be easily disposed of. He couldn't afford to be disposed of.
"Fine, I agree. But don't forget to give me the 5% of Norman's shares you promised," after a brief moment of contemplation, Javier finally gave in.
Kayla, seeing Javier, who had always disliked her, agreeing to support her as the chairman, was filled with excitement. The day she had been waiting for was finally arriving.
