Chapter 363 Vying for Favor
The bullet was just inches away from William's forehead. If it had hit him, he would undoubtedly be dead.
However, the bullet that eluded the naked eye was caught by him effortlessly.
"You lack the ability to kill me," William said with a faint smile.
The three people present were dumbfounded and horrified. They couldn't believe it! The guy could even catch bullets!
They turned pale with fright and dared not move.
"Hmph!" William snorted coldly and deflected the bullet back in the direction it came from. The bodyguard holding the pistol collapsed as the bullet hit him right between the eyes.
The maneuver was executed smoothly.
"Was it you who ordered him to kill me?" William looked at Burgundy.
"It's a misunderstanding, William. I apologize!" Burgundy quickly bowed and apologized to William, completely astonished by the extraordinary power of this unremarkable young man, which had far exceeded his imagination.
However, it seemed that William had no intention of letting him off.
Burgundy suddenly felt as if he were being targeted by a venomous snake. Cold sweat streamed down his forehead. Seeing this, Bertrand and Judith didn't dare to intercede for him.
William was indeed terrifying.
"If you disable one arm, I might consider sparing your life," William said calmly.
Burgundy was initially shocked, but then he fell into deep conflict. However, when he recalled the scene of William catching the bullet with his bare hands, he immediately picked up the pistol dropped by the black-clad bodyguard and shot his left arm without hesitation.
The bullet went straight through the bone in his arm, with blood flowing profusely. Burgundy gritted his teeth and begged for mercy.
"I beg you to spare my life."
Bertrand and Judith looked at William as if he were a demon. At the same time, they now understood why it was William who rescued Eliza.
"Well, I'll spare your life for now!" William nodded, satisfied with his apology.
"I'll say it again. I came here just to inform you that I'll personally escort Eliza home in due time." William repeated his words.
This time, none of the three dared to ignore his words. Each of them fell silent.
"Understood, sir. Here's my business card. When you arrive, feel free to call me. I will arrange for someone to pick you up." Bertrand changed his attitude quickly. Since William was someone they couldn't afford to offend, they could only try to win him over in a different way.
Burgundy and Judith also handed their business cards to William.
"This is my business card. Please accept the gifts I gave you today. When you arrive in Canada, feel free to contact me anytime," Judith said, trying to win him over.
Anyone who can catch a bullet with their bare hands is undoubtedly invincible. Such a skilled individual would definitely be sought after by various families.
"Sir, the gifts I have given you are equally significant," Burgundy said, gritting his teeth in pain.
"If you come to Canada, I can show you the unique attractions there. It'll be absolutely exhilarating!"
Despite having his arm crippled by William, Burgundy didn't dare to think of rebellion. On the contrary, he endured the pain to please William, hoping to attract him in a unique way.
"Alright, I will take your business cards for now. It's possible that I might need your help when I'm in Canada. As for these things on the table, I will also accept them temporarily." William didn't make this trip for nothing.
He immediately collected all the gifts given to him. These gifts amounted to at least one billion dollars. Indeed, they were worthy of being the second-ranked family on the domestic rankings; their generosity was evident.
"Thank you. When I go back, I'll have a talk with Eliza. Maybe someday we'll come to an agreement, and one of you could become her guardian." William didn't completely shut them out. These three individuals still had their uses for William.
"In that case, we'll trouble you!" When Bertrand approached to express his gratitude, he secretly slipped a $10 million check into William's pocket.
William nodded in response with a smile.
"Well then, I'll take my leave. Please stay for a while." He held Eliza's little hand and walked toward the exit. Judith saw Bertrand's smile and immediately understood what had happened. She quickly got up and chased after them.
"Sir!" When she got closer to William, she discreetly slipped a bank card into his hand and whispered, "The password is the last six digits of the card number. I'm counting on you for everything. Please look for me first when you arrive in Canada."
William smiled as he accepted the bank card. After all, it would be a waste not to accept it.
Burgundy, upon seeing this, instantly understood what was going on. Bertrand and Judith were indeed cunning. Enduring the pain, he mustered up his strength and caught up to William. He took out a gold card and handed it to him.
"I have a club in Canada. It's worth one billion dollars. From now on, the club and all the women inside will belong to you. Many of them are from overseas. I guarantee you'll like them."
William was taken aback.
"Thank you so much. When I return, I will speak highly of you in front of Eliza," William said with a smile as he accepted the gold card. It might come in handy in the future.
But deep down, William couldn't agree with Burgundy being Eliza's guardian. If a playboy like him really became her guardian, he would ruin her.
"You have my gratitude!" Burgundy had given his favorite club to William. It seemed like there was a greater chance for him to become Eliza's guardian and perhaps even the chairman.
With all the benefits he received from them, William couldn't help but smirk. Once he got into the car, he sighed and said, "Eliza, you truly are my goddess."
"William, will you send me back to them?" Eliza asked. Her face was full of nervousness as she looked at William.
"I don't want to part with you, my lovely Eliza. But I will take you to Canada to see your grandfather. Whether you stay or leave will be up to you." William thought it would be more appropriate to entrust Eliza to her grandfather.
"I don't want to go back. Mentor, Sharon, and Michelle have been treating me well. This is my home!" Eliza grabbed William's sleeve and pleaded.
"Don't worry. No one can force you to stay. I will protect you." William patted her head. If the Hughes family tried to take her forcefully, they wouldn't have an easy time dealing with him.
