Chapter 204 The Era of the Queen
Within the highest-level meeting of the Garcia Group, a board meeting was currently being held to elect a new chairman and make important personnel changes.
William, Kayla, and Javier held a total of 55% of the Garcia Group's shares, while Norman and Irving held only 45%.
The Garcia Group's elders, led by Javier, were the first to speak. "Those in favor of Kayla becoming the chairperson, please raise your hand," he said with authority, being a long-standing member of the Garcia Group.
Norman, however, looked at him angrily, clenching his fists. Irving, on the other hand, had his chin resting on his hand, contemplating his own exit strategy. With the election of Kayla as the chairperson now a certainty, he, as the general manager, needed to consider his own way out.
As soon as the words were spoken, Kayla, William, and Javier raised their hands to vote in favor of Kayla becoming the new chairperson of the Garcia Group. Surprisingly, even Irving, who Norman had trusted, also raised his hand in agreement.
This outcome surprised everyone present, including Kayla and William themselves. However, they quickly understood the situation. With a voting support rate of 55% for Kayla, whether Irving raised his hand or not, it wouldn't change the result of her becoming the chairperson. Since that was the case, it was better to raise his hand in agreement and get a way out for himself. Irving was indeed a smart person.
"Even you have betrayed me," Norman angrily slammed the table, his face looking unpleasant.
"Norman, I chose Kayla to be the chairperson because it was bound to happen and also for the future of the company. Your CC Alliance is about to collapse, and the company cannot go down with you! Kayla has the support of the Power Group and the WE ARE Chamber. The rapid development of our subsidiary in the North district is a testament to that. With her as the new chairperson, the Garcia Group will reach new heights," Irving said earnestly, but in reality, he just wanted to leave himself an escape route.
"Fine, you guys will regret this one day," Norman cursed loudly and angrily stood up, intending to leave. However, it seemed that William had no intention of letting him go.
"Norman, did I tell you to leave? Why the rush?" William said calmly, his tone carrying a hint of coldness.
"What do you mean? Are you saying I can't leave?" Norman turned his head and glared at him.
"You can leave if you want, but leave behind your 35% stake," William said with a slight smirk.
Norman held 35% of the company's shares, and William couldn't let him leave so easily. If Norman were to team up with Irving and Javier again, Kayla's position would be in danger. Therefore, William had to maintain absolute control over the Garcia Group's shares in order to rest at ease.
"You want my 35% stake, William? Who do you think you are?" Norman said disdainfully. He did have thoughts of finding a way to turn the tables, so this 35% stake is his only chance to turn the tables. How could he be willing to give it up just like that?
"I'll give you ten million dollars for your 35% stake. If you refuse, I'll throw you out of this eighth-floor window," William said, with a hint of threat.
These words made everyone present gasp in disbelief. This was too ruthless! Norman's face even turned pale from the fright.
"William, you think you can buy my 35% stake for ten million dollars? Dream on," Norman said, slowly moving towards the meeting room door, planning to run away later.
His 35% stake was worth billions of dollars. How could Norman agree to sell it for only ten million dollars?
William had already discerned Norman's intention to run away, but he didn't stop him. Instead, he let him move towards the door. Outside the door, Hunter, Sharon, and Aurora were guarding, so there was no way Norman could escape!
Sure enough, as soon as Norman quietly opened the door to leave, Hunter pushed him back into the meeting room, leaving him feeling hopeless.
"Norman, I'm running out of patience! With ten million dollars, you can live carefree for the rest of your life!" This was already quite polite of William. In the past, he would hesitate to buy someone's stake even with one million dollars.
This time, in order to quickly gain control of the Garcia Group and facilitate the framing of the Watson family, he was willing to offer such a high price.
"William, don't force me." Norman was completely panicked now. He couldn't run away, and he couldn't resist. He felt helpless and desperate.
At this moment, he turned his gaze towards Irving. In the past, whenever he encountered difficulties, he would ask Irving for help. However, this time, he intentionally turned his head away and didn't look at Irving. Irving himself was in a vulnerable position now, so there was no way he could help Norman.
Seeing that Norman still hesitated to agree, William frowned, showing impatience. He walked over and grabbed Norman's collar, dragging him towards the window of the meeting room.
"Are you testing my patience?" William's voice was icy cold as he pushed Norman's body towards the window. Half of his body was already outside the window.
Norman's face turned pale with fear, his body trembling. This was the eighth floor, falling from here would be certain death!
"I'll sign, I'll sign!" Norman quickly exclaimed in fear. Compared to his life, those stocks in his hand were nothing. Moreover, there was also ten million dollars to be taken. For now, he could only admit defeat.
"It would have been better if you did this earlier." William sneered and pulled hard, bringing Norman's half body back inside.
However, Javier and Irving in the meeting room were shocked by William's horrifying behavior. This person was even scarier than Antony.
In her response, Kayla quickly prepared the acquisition agreement and handed it over to Norman, a document that would soon seal the fate of the Garcia Group. As Norman glanced at the agreement and then at Kayla, a mixture of resignation and helplessness filled his face. This was the illegitimate daughter he had always feared, and now she had ultimately triumphed over him.
With a trembling hand, Norman signed the share acquisition agreement, feeling his strength drain away. From that moment on, the Garcia Group would no longer have any ties with him and would fall into the hands of the Power Group.
"You can leave now. The ten million dollars will soon be transferred to your account," William said.
Taking a quick glance at the acquisition agreement, William was quite satisfied. With this 35% stake, he now held 75% of the shares, even after allocating 5% to Javier as a commitment reward. This meant that William had acquired an absolute controlling stake in the Garcia Group. Kayla's position as the chairman was now secure, unshakable by anyone.
Kayla watched Norman's desolate figure as he walked away, feeling no sympathy but rather a sense of revenge fulfilled.
"Mom, did you see that? I avenged you." Kayla had endured years of humiliation, all for this moment. Finally, she had trampled Norman beneath her feet, with the entire Garcia Group as her compensation.
Having driven away Norman, Kayla immediately announced, "Now, let's make some personnel changes. Dismiss Irving as the general manager and I will be replacing him. Dismiss Samuel, dismiss the executive director, dismiss..."
One after another, the personnel changes were swift and decisive, replacing key positions with her own people. From this point on, the Garcia Group was completely under her control.
Irving felt a bit reluctant to accept this, but as he recalled the tactics William had used to trap Norman, he dared not voice any opposition. He understood that the Garcia Group had changed completely from today and that the era of Kayla was about to begin.
"Kayla, I would like to retire early. Please approve my retirement request," Irving said in a hoarse voice.
"Alright, I approve it," Kayla immediately agreed without hesitation.
From this moment on, the Garcia Group would welcome its new owner. And the first announcement made by its new owner on behalf of the Garcia Group was that they would withdraw from the CC Alliance and fully join the WE ARE Chamber.
