Chapter 279 Catching Another Big Fish
"You say you want to come and apologize to me in person?"
On the other end of the phone, Raymond was actually apologizing to Oscar. This shocked him. He couldn't believe it!
Julia and Linda were also shocked. Only Michelle breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.
"I told you, William wouldn't deceive us. We should go back now!" Michelle said, packing her things to head back. However, Oscar and his family hesitated.
"Can William really make Raymond come and apologize to us?" Linda asked in disbelief. How could a poor person have such power?
"I don't really believe this is true. But let's wait and see what happens," Oscar said, still in shock. "Anyway, let's go back! I heard Raymond has prepared a gift for me as an apology."
Oscar smiled bitterly, feeling like it was all too surreal, but Raymond on the phone sounded tearful and shaky.
Knowing Raymond's personality, he always dealt with things straightforwardly and would never act like this. He must have encountered someone even more powerful than himself.
"Then let's go back!" Linda and Julia didn't really want to run away either, as living outside was definitely not as comfortable as being at home.
Soon, Oscar's family returned home, and when they arrived, Baca was already there with Raymond.
Raymond had injured one leg and couldn't run away.
Now Raymond no longer had the confidence to resist. He could only apologize to Oscar as William had instructed.
When Oscar and the others appeared, Raymond quickly approached them with a gift in hand to apologize.
"I'm truly sorry. This is my apology to you. Please forgive my recklessness."
Raymond spoke with a humble manner, unlike his arrogant and aggressive demeanor before.
Oscar and Linda were stunned. They didn't know what to say!
"He actually came to apologize to me?!" Oscar was shocked.
After Raymond handed the gift to Oscar, he was quickly taken away by Baca. His dejected appearance gave off a sense of desolation.
Oscar watched their retreating figures, and his mind was filled with thoughts. He was becoming even more curious about William!
"This person seems extraordinary!" He said to Julia, "Julia, let's invite William to our house for dinner tomorrow. I want to thank him in person."
William had helped them with this matter, so they all began to believe what Michelle had said.
After capturing Raymond, William put iron chains on him and locked him and Larry together in the villa where Baca and the others lived. With Beauvoir, Sharon, Baca, and Lillian watching, they had no chance to escape.
Madelyn didn't want them to eat without doing any work, so she made them clean the house, wash dishes, wipe tables, and do other household chores.
These two used to be important figures, and now they were being trained by Madelyn as housekeepers. If anyone from the outside world saw this, they would be speechless.
When William entered, Larry and Raymond quickly stepped back in fear. This seemingly harmless man was actually a cunning wolf who devoured people without leaving a trace.
"You two will soon become great housekeepers," William remarked, surprised but satisfied to see them. One was sweeping the floor, and the other was wiping the tables.
"Sir, it was my idea to make them do household chores since they were just eating without doing anything," Madelyn explained as she approached.
"No problem. Put them to work. Let them handle the heavy and tiring tasks. Oh, and have them do the laundry for the guys at the martial arts gym," William said with a smirk.
"Sounds good," Baca chimed in with delight. "I happen to have three or four days worth of clothes that need washing. Let them take care of it."
Raymond and Larry's hearts sank at the news. They couldn't believe they had fallen to the point of doing other people's laundry; it was worse than being in prison.
William chuckled and pulled out a purchase agreement. He threw it on the table in front of Raymond.
"Raymond, sign your name here!"
"What is this? Why should I sign it?" Raymond asked, still confused.
"This is a transfer agreement for your properties. All those properties were obtained through Lillian's father's dirty dealings, and now I'm taking them back on her behalf," William stated firmly, making it clear there was no room for argument.
"William, don't push me too far. I've spent half my life building up those properties. Is it fair to make me sign it away just like that?" Raymond roared angrily.
Raymond tolerated William's request to apologize to Oscar, but seizing his assets was a different story. If he continued to tolerate it, he would lose any chance of turning the tables.
"What's unfair about it? After all, these properties aren't yours! Sign it quickly, or I'll have Baca stab you a few times until you do," William said, his brow furrowing in irritation.
"You, you..." Raymond was so angry that he wanted to overturn the table. But when he saw Baca approaching with a short knife, his imposing aura overwhelming, he immediately became fearful.
"Fine, fine! I'll sign, I'll sign..." Raymond swallowed his pride and quickly signed his name on the purchase agreement.
After signing, Raymond's legs felt weak. The properties he had worked so hard for his entire life were finally taken away from him.
"Not bad. You two will continue being housekeepers here!" William smirked. With the acquisition of these properties, WE ARE Chamber's influence in the East district was expanding.
Now, it was time to deal with Pablo and Frank. Once these two were taken care of, Mr. Davis's power would weaken considerably.
William planned to remove his wings first, gradually devouring his influence step by step, before delivering a fatal blow.
