Chapter 318 Eliza's Origins
William carried the millennium night pearl with him, so as soon as he got out of the car, he walked directly towards the fortune-teller. The fortune-teller had set up his booth, but there was no one coming to have their fortunes told. "Long time no see," William respectfully greeted him with a fist salute. "Mr. Brown, long time no see.
"I'm certain you have obtained the Night Pearl!" the fortune teller exclaimed, immediately mentioning the Night Pearl, which piqued William's curiosity. How did the fortune teller know that he had the Night Pearl?
Unable to resist, William asked, "The Night Pearl is indeed in my possession, but I'm puzzled. I acquired it just yesterday, yet here you are early in the morning, waiting for me. How did you know?"
"I have my ways," the fortune teller replied, pretending to be mysterious.
William was at a loss. This fortune teller seemed like a charlatan, yet displayed some abilities that William couldn't quite grasp.
"I can give you the Night Pearl, but you must agree to three conditions," William pondered, not wanting to be taken advantage of. The Night Pearl seemed magical, but William couldn't discern its true value with his current strength. So, instead of letting it gather dust, he thought it might be better to exchange it with the fortune teller for some tangible benefits.
"The Night Pearl holds little value for you, but I can agree to your three conditions," the fortune teller replied, stroking his long beard, nodding.
"Excellent. But I'll wait for two individuals before discussing the specific conditions," William said, smirking.
The fortune teller did not object, effectively agreeing to William's request.
Soon, Beauvoir hurried towards William with Eliza in his arms. When they approached, Beauvoir set Eliza down and turned to the fortune teller, appraising him before turning to William and asking, "Is this the fortune teller who gave you the elixir?"
"Yes, he's the one who gave me the elixir. It not only saved my life, but also helped me break through to the Grandmaster level," William replied truthfully.
Hearing this, Beauvoir's expression suddenly became very serious as he approached the fortune teller, showing a respectful and earnest demeanor. "Can you give me an elixir that will help me break through to the Grandmaster level, just like the one you gave this gentleman last time?"
The fortune teller did not speak, but instead looked at William. Understanding his intention, William smiled and said, "This is my first request. I hope you can give Beauvoir an elixir to help him break through to the Grandmaster level. He has been longing for it."
William stated his first request and condition: to help Beauvoir break through to the Grandmaster level. He had been longing for it for a long time, and now that there was an opportunity, William wanted to assist him.
"Very well. This elixir is not a rare item for me. Giving you one won't be an issue," the fortune teller said. He took out a porcelain bottle from his person and poured out a dark brown elixir, handing it to Beauvoir.
"Eating this elixir will aid you in breaking through to the Grandmaster level. From now on, you will..."
"The speed of cultivation will also increase," the fortune teller said eloquently.
Beauvoir was extremely excited upon hearing this and quickly took the pill, swallowing it immediately and waiting for its effects to take hold.
While waiting for the medicine to take effect, William picked up Eliza and approached the fortune teller, saying to him, "My second request is, can you help me find her parents? Also, I've noticed a miraculous phenomenon. It seems that Eliza has a special connection with this millennium pearl."
As he spoke, William took out the pearl hidden on his person and handed it to Eliza.
As soon as her tender little hand touched the pearl, the same thing happened as yesterday. The pearl immediately emitted a white glow.
"The orb is emitting a white glow again," Eliza blinked her watery eyes and played with the pearl in her hands.
But the fortune teller was stunned, truly stunned. It was the first time William saw the fortune teller with such a shocked expression.
"This is natural supernatural ability," the fortune teller exclaimed in surprise.
William hadn't reacted yet.
"What? Eliza has natural supernatural ability??" Beauvoir's face was filled with astonishment.
"What is natural supernatural ability??" Eliza tilted her little head, wearing a puzzled expression.
"I don't know either, but it seems like Eliza is very talented," William said, affectionately rubbing Eliza's head.
"Mr. Brown, if this girl follows the training, she will become a master in the future. I wonder..." the fortune teller began to say, but William and Beauvoir almost simultaneously refused.
"No, not Eliza, I absolutely cannot hand her over to you. Training with you would just make her another female trickster."
William could not bear to part with Eliza.
Beauvoir's refusal stemmed from the desire to take her in as a student.
"What a pity," the fortune teller seemed unwilling to force them, so he had no choice but to give up.
"Can you at least tell us about Eliza's identity? Or can you perform a divination for her?" William felt relieved when he saw that the fortune teller had given up on Eliza. If he had insisted, William knew that he and Beauvoir combined would not be able to match this fortune teller.
"Tell me her birthdate," the fortune teller said, also curious.
"Eliza," William put away the pearl and gently said to Eliza. The latter obediently shared all the information she knew about herself.
The fortune teller calculated for a while before saying, "This girl does indeed come from an extraordinary background and has a promising future, but..."
"But what?" William suddenly asked nervously.
"If you take her with you, it may bring you a lot of trouble," the fortune teller frowned.
