Chapter 389 What Are You Doing Here?
"Ben, what are you doing here?" Delilah asked the young man. Unable to hide her disgust for him.
"I often come here to shop, but it seems like it's your first time," Ben said while still looking at Delilah without any intention of averting his gaze.
"Consider this Beautifying Pill as my gift to you."
"No, I'll pay for it myself," Delilah declined Ben's gift and reached for her own bank card to make the payment. However, William was one step ahead and tossed his card to the stall owner.
"Use mine. No PIN required!" William turned to Delilah and said, "I'll cover all your expenses today. Just enjoy yourself."
"Really? That's great! You said it," Delilah didn't expect William to be so generous, paying for her expenses. It made her very happy.
Only then did Ben notice William standing next to Delilah. He disdainfully studied William from head to toe, observing how plainly dressed he was. Looking like someone from the impoverished area.
"Do you know who Delilah is? She's not someone you can aspire to have," Ben disregarded him immediately.
"I know. She's the daughter of the Flood Boxing Guild master. So what?" William calmly responded, sensing a hint of jealousy in Ben's tone.
"If you know, you better leave. Do you think someone like you, a poor person, deserves her?" Ben arrogantly taunted.
Before William could reply, Delilah interrupted.
"It's none of your business whether we deserve it or not, William. Let's go, don't pay attention to him," Delilah said, taking the Beautifying Pill and grabbing William's hand, proceeding forward. Ben watched this with anger in his eyes and quickly caught up.
"I'm familiar with this place, let me show you around!" Ben, unwilling to give up, intended to stick around.
"You go away, we can explore on our own." Delilah was determined to relish her time alone with William. Ben was not going to ruin it for her.
Ben was filled with anger when he realized that Delilah was determined to be alone with this man.
"If you keep hanging out with this person, believe me, I'll tell your father." Ben threatened in frustration, attempting to use the threat of her father against her.
"Sure, go ahead and tell him!" Delilah wasn't afraid of Ben telling her father. If her dad knew that William was a Silver Level expert, he might even encourage her to be with him.
"You'll regret it." Ben sneered as he stalked off.
Watching Ben's receding figure, William calmly asked,
"Who is he? He seems very interested in you."
"William, don't misunderstand. I have nothing to do with him," Delilah nervously explained.
"He's Ben, a senior member of the Flood Boxing Guild. Terribly annoying. Since hearing my father is planning for me to marry, he's been desperately trying to pursue me."
"I see." William nodded.
"Yeah, I have no relationship with him," Delilah quickly clarified, hoping William wouldn't misunderstand.
William, however, wasn't bothered at all. He didn't consider Ben a threat.
After Ben left, he felt more and more discontented.
"No, I can't just let him off like this. Someone needs to teach him a lesson." Cold determination flashed in Ben's eyes. Although his strength was also at the Grandmaster level, he was slightly weaker than Delilah, which is why he didn't confront William earlier.
"Delilah's strength has reached the Grandmaster level. I need to find someone stronger." Although, he held some power within the Flood Boxing Guild; he also had many friends who he could call upon. After contemplating for a moment, Ben's eyes suddenly lit up.
"Cameron. He's been personally trained by the master, and holds formidable strength. Better still; he loves Delilah dearly. If he finds out she's with a poor guy, he'll definitely step in and teach him a lesson."
With this in mind, Ben quickly reached for his phone and called Cameron. Thankfully, he answered quickly.
"It's Ben, and we have a situation," he said.
"What situation? Tell me what the problem is quickly!" The concern clear in Cameron's voice.
"It's about Delilah. She has been deceived by someone from a poor area and is now at Heart Tower. No matter how I try to persuade her, she won't listen. I can't fight her, so you need to come quickly, or else she will be deceived into bed by this person," Ben explained, adding some exaggeration to the situation. Upon hearing this; Cameron became furious.
"Alright, keep an eye on her. I'll be there shortly to teach this person a lesson." The call was ended right there.
Ben felt a sense of satisfaction after hanging up the phone, "How dare he try to steal Delilah from me? I'll beat you, you pauper."
While Ben was making the phone call, William and Delilah were chatting and laughing as they strolled through the streets.
The things here were very novel and eye-opening for William.
"Hey, they even have Hidden Blades like Blood Stab here," William exclaimed when he saw a stall displaying such Hidden Blades, piquing his interest.
"Do you know Blood Stab?" Delilah asked.
"Yes, Blood Stab is a useful Hidden Blade. It has a reverse hook and a blood groove. Once it pierces someone, the wound expands," William explained everything that Beauvoir had taught him.
The stall owner was visibly impressed with William's knowledge. "I didn't expect you to be so familiar with Blood Stab. Grab yourself a few for self-defense!"
William shook his head as he declined the suggestion. With his current ability, Blood Stab wouldn't really serve much purpose for him. A single burst of his psychic energy could kill an enemy unnoticed, making it much more effective than Blood Stab.
After browsing for a while, William didn't find what he wanted, but Delilah bought many things, spending over a million dollars, which was insignificant to William.
"I heard there's an auction here. Let's go and take a look later!" Delilah suggested eagerly.
"Yes! The items in the auction should be better," William agreed holding much anticipation for the auction's offerings.
"Let's grab something to eat first!" Delilah pulled William, intending to go to a snack shop on the island. unfortunately for them, just a few steps away; a familiar figure blocked their path, and Ben stood beside that person, wearing a sinister expression.
"This is the person who deceived Delilah. Take action now!" Cameron had arrived, as he couldn't just stand by and watch Delilah being deceived by someone with ill intentions. So, after receiving Ben's call, he hurriedly made his way to Heart Tower.
However, upon arriving on this small island, he discovered that the poor person Ben wanted him to frame was actually the skilled fighter who he had been unable to defend against in the restaurant. His face immediately changed color.
"Sir, what are you doing here?" Cameron respectfully greeted William and showed a hint of nervousness on his face.
Upon seeing this scene, Ben was shocked and opened his mouth wide, unable to believe what he was witnessing. Delilah also had a stunned expression on her face.
