Chapter 17 Counterattack
A customer service representative from the luxury car dealership quickly picked up the phone.
After a simple greeting, Daniel got straight to the point and asked, "Did a man named William buy a Ferrari from your store recently?"
Since he was using the hands-free feature, everyone could hear him. When Daniel asked that question, everyone held their breath, waiting for the answer to determine whether William was being truthful or not.
Liam covered his face, unsure of how things would unfold next, worrying for William.
Daniel had a victorious expression on his face as he continued, "You poor guy, William. This time, I'll make you admit defeat so you won't have any dignity left to say anything in front of your classmates."
Almost everyone present found it hard to believe that William, who had only graduated three years ago, could afford a Ferrari worth over five million dollars. They thought that William had either borrowed or rented the car just to show off in front of his classmates.
But the customer service representative's response shocked them once again.
"Are you referring to William Brown? Mr. Brown purchased a Ferrari F12 supercar and a Rolls-Royce Phantom with full payment at our store yesterday."
As the customer service representative finished speaking, all the classmates present were shocked.
"What? William bought a Ferrari and a Rolls-Royce Phantom?"
"How is that possible?" Daniel was completely stunned, his mind in chaos. How could that poor guy afford a Ferrari and a Rolls-Royce?
He quickly hung up the phone, but everyone had heard the customer service representative. They were astonished beyond words.
They had originally wanted to prove that William was just acting arrogant in front of them, but they never imagined that William's real identity would be even more terrifying.
A Ferrari F12 supercar worth over five million dollars, and a Rolls-Royce Phantom worth close to ten million dollars. It was beyond their wildest dreams. In other words, they had failed to prove that William was poor, and they had also unintentionally confirmed that William's real identity was more intimidating than what they had imagined. It was a slap in the face for everyone present.
Everyone was left speechless, and a few classmates who had mocked William earlier deeply regretted their actions.
Richard, on the other hand, was too shocked to say anything. He felt that his own achievements were insignificant compared to William's.
As for Madison, she had thought that she would expose William's destitution, but the situation had completely reversed. It had proven that William had in fact bought a Ferrari and a Rolls-Royce, and that his real pidentity far exceeded their imagination. It was something she couldn't bring herself to believe.
‘How is this possible? He's poor, there's no way he could afford those top-tier luxury cars. This must be another scam.’
Only Liam breathed a sigh of relief and glanced at William discreetly. He couldn’t help but admire him. He was even annoyed by the customer service at the sales store.
Before they came here, William had told him that he knew some people at the car rental place, so the words of the customer service representative made Liam think that William had arranged it in advance.
"Sorry, everyone. I wanted to truly participate in the class reunion, but I was afraid everyone would think I was arrogant, so I brought a cheap Ferrari over. But I didn't expect things to turn out like this," William smiled slightly out of corner of his mouth. He had purchased the Rolls-Royce Phantom to boost Ella's performance and annoy those salesmen, but he originally had no intention of buying it.
He never expected that the Rolls-Royce Phantom would invisibly slap all his classmates in the face right now. It was simply amazing.
"I’m really sorry, William,. I didn't understand the situation and spoke without thinking. Please don't take it to heart." One of the classmates quickly came out to apologize to William. Anyone who could afford two top luxury cars was definitely someone they couldn't afford to offend.
After the first apology, followed by the second, the third...
"It's nothing. I won't take this small issue to heart. This is all because that outsider tried to come between us as classmates.” William smiled slightly, then pointed his finger at Daniel.
The meaning was clear. “It would please me if you drove away this so-called heir.”
The classmates seemed to understand William's intention and stood up hesitantly to address Daniel.
"This is a class reunion. Please leave since you're not one of our classmates."
"If you're not our classmate, why did you come to the reunion? Please leave."
After the first person spoke up, a second one stepped forward, and soon, most of the classmates supported William and drove out that irrelevant man, Daniel.
Daniel was furious. He had never been humiliated like this before. He clenched his fists, wanting to strike William, but seeing Liam next to him made him abandon that thought.
"Alright, William. I’ll definitely get revenge," Daniel said, gritting his teeth. He turned pale and quickly left the venue. Madison hesitated for a moment and followed him, because she believed that William must have done something to make him arrogant and falsely successful again.
After they left, William received the admiration of the crowd again, but this time, his interest was somewhat indifferent. He only had casual conversations with them, and if it wasn't for the fact that his goddess Michelle hadn't shown up yet, he would have left long ago.
After about half an hour, a beautiful white figure suddenly appeared at the door of the hall, followed by a familiar voice.
"Sorry, everyone, I'm late."
Everyone's gaze turned toward the voice.
