Chapter 126 The Mysterious Heir
William bid one hundred million dollars, causing an uproar in the audience once again. Even the host, Billy, was stunned by William's extravagance. But when he realized that the prices he bid were all covered by the Power Group and Antony, he felt relieved.
"Number 148, Mr. Brown, bid one hundred million dollars. Does anyone have a higher bid?" Billy felt that no one in the audience would bid and was ready to start counting.
"One hundred million dollars, first time."
Everyone in the audience saw this astonishing price and couldn't help but gasp. They dared not bid any higher, and besides, none of them had one hundred million dollars in funds prepared.
"One hundred million dollars, second time." Billy's loud voice echoed once again in the banquet hall, but still, no one made another bid. It seemed that this ring had reached its limit.
The Bvlgari blue ring now belonged to William.
However, the tranquil scene was soon disrupted by a magnetic voice.
"Two hundred million dollars." The number 16 plate, held calmly by a rich heir, directly pushed the price to two hundred million dollars.
The venue instantly erupted again, and everyone's gaze turned to this mysterious heir.
"Two hundred million dollars? Even the wealthy scions of the Four Great Families can't afford it!"
"Who could it be? Such a strong bid! Is it from New York?"
The crowd's attention shifted toward the mysterious heir. Dressed luxuriously, with a handsome face, and adorned with remarkable accessories, he exuded charm.
"So handsome and rich!" Many girls couldn't help but have a crush on the mysterious rich heir. It was evident that this person had great appeal.
"Two hundred million dollars, any further bids?" Billy's voice trembled slightly. This price had already shattered the record for the highest bid in the history of charity auctions.
Others were equally astonished. Two hundred million dollars was an astronomical sum; they were certain no one else would bid higher.
Yet, William, with a slight smile at the corner of his mouth, raised his number plate once again and made another bid.
"Four hundred million dollars."
William doubled the price once again, determined to win the Bvlgari blue ring, regardless of the opponent's bid.
This price not only broke the newly set record but also shocked the entire audience once more.
"Oh my, who is this person? Four hundred million dollars without batting an eye!"
"This person is amazing, four hundred million dollars!"
"Impressive, impressive. A ring sold for four hundred million dollars."
"What's his identity? He dresses so shabbily, yet dares to bid such a high price!"
"So impressive! This gala was definitely worth attending."
The crowd buzzed with discussions. Even Michelle and Noah were stunned, feeling as if they no longer recognized William.
The others present were also shocked again. Four hundred million dollars, this was a record-breaking high price! Even Ben was amazed.
"Is this person crazy? Calling out four hundred million dollars for a Bvlgari blue ring? Who does he think he is? Can he afford that money?" Others at the venue couldn't help but focus their attention on William once again.
Billy, who was hosting the event, hadn't stabilized his emotions yet, but he was once again excited. It was too incredible. The price skyrocketed to four hundred million dollars in an instant.
"Four hundred million dollars, first time."
Billy began counting, and everyone was anticipating the mysterious heir's next bid.
"Four hundred million dollars, second time."
Many people at the venue were waiting for the mysterious heir to bid again. However, to their disappointment, he didn't choose to increase the price.
"Four hundred million dollars, third and final time. Congratulations, Mr. Brown has successfully won this Bvlgari blue ring!" Billy announced the result.
Instantly, the crowd started discussing, particularly speculating about William's identity. Anyone who can afford four billion dollars must be either wealthy or influential.
However, William furrowed his brow slightly, feeling that he had been too ostentatious this time.
Soon, Billy personally delivered the beautifully packaged Bvlgari blue ring to William, looking rather respectful. "Mr. Brown, this is the Bvlgari blue ring you won. Please keep it safe!"
"Hmm, just have Antony handle the payment," William nodded and said, while taking the Bvlgari blue ring.
"Understood, Mr. Brown!" Billy nodded in response.
In his mind, Billy pondered the relationship between this person and Antony. Being able to persuade Antony to willingly foot the bill for his auction purchase indicated that their relationship was extraordinary.
After Billy left, William entrusted the Bvlgari blue ring to Michelle, smiling and saying, "Michelle, this ring is for you!"
"For me? It's...too valuable!" Michelle felt excited yet hesitant. She wanted to accept it, but it was a four billion dollar Bvlgari blue ring, incredibly precious.
"Just accept it." William understood Michelle's concerns. He had initially planned to put it on her, but with so many people around, it wasn't appropriate. It was better for her to wear it herself in the evening!
"Alright!" Michelle really liked the Bvlgari blue ring, but she liked William's intentions toward her even more. Without him noticing, she turned her head and pecked him on the cheek, her face quickly turning crimson.
William's lips curled into a slight smile as he instinctively tightened his grip on Michelle's hand.
Noah, who was watching nearby, felt a twinge of envy. She had originally thought that William was just a poor person from a poverty-stricken area and had even considered breaking them apart. But now, she realized that she had underestimated him!
Next was the announcement of the top ten outstanding youths. William wasn't particularly concerned about this title, as it didn't make much of a difference to him.
However, some people did care, especially the wealthy heirs of prestigious families, who wanted a title to boast about and believed it would help their future.
"Ladies and gentlemen, now I will announce the list of this year's top ten outstanding youths." Secretary Billy, holding a freshly drafted list, once again took the stage.
The wealthy Misses in the audience all held their breaths, their expressions nervous!
Even Noah and Michelle were filled with anticipation, though they weren't hoping for their own names to be called. They were probably curious to see if William would be selected.
Seeing them like this, William couldn't help but shake his head.
"The first one is Ben Davis..." Billy said the name of the first young person who was selected as one of the top ten outstanding individuals.
Ben immediately became excited. When he bid at the auction earlier, he had spent quite a bit of money, so being selected was something he had expected. This made him even more proud.
"The second one is Scaley, the third one is Cassius, the fourth one..." Billy read out a series of names, most of them being the wealthy scions of the New York elite who had bid high prices for the collectibles at the auction.
Naturally, those who were selected were very happy. They could finally justify the money spent to their parents! This money wasn't wasted.
"The ninth one is Dorian Walsh."
When this name was read out, everyone in the audience was stunned. They didn't expect there to be a wealthy scion from Canada as well. Soon, they all learned who Dorian was.
It was the mysterious person who had bid two hundred million dollars earlier.
William furrowed his brow slightly as he saw Dorian go up on stage to receive the certificate for being one of the top ten outstanding individuals. Dorian's sudden arrival in New York might not be for pure motives!
William had swindled the Walsh family out of five billion dollars in assets, and the Walsh family would certainly not let him get away with it. But William wasn't afraid!
"The final spot is..." Billy suddenly raised his voice a notch.
