Chapter 243 Astonishing Gift

Today at Moon Grand Hotel, it was the wedding banquet of Ryder, the son of Timothy, the chairman of the Graham Group. Timothy had booked the entire hotel for his son's wedding.

The guests included not only their relatives and friends but also many business partners, making Moon Grand Hotel bustling today.

When William and Michelle arrived, there were already many luxury cars parked in the parking garage.

Michelle, dressed up meticulously, stepped out of the car. She wore a waist-revealing, off-shoulder evening gown in a delicate shade of pink, showcasing her perfect figure and making her look like a beautiful princess, incredibly stunning.

"Michelle, are you here to steal the limelight from the bride?" William remarked jokingly. Michelle indeed looked stunning today. Even William was somewhat stunned.

Michelle raised the corner of her lips, feeling ecstatic inside. Then she affectionately took William's arm, walking toward the staircase.

They took the elevator directly from the basement to the lobby on the first floor. There was a beautiful receptionist at the front desk responsible for registering the names and relationships of the guests. After Michelle signed in with William at the reception, the receptionist gave Michelle a number card.

"Table 28. It should be a table for high school classmates." Michelle held the number card, linking her arm with William's, and walked inside.

Along the way, many guests attending the wedding turned their heads to look at Michelle. Her ethereal beauty truly astonished many people, giving William a sense of pressure.

"Michelle, being with you is quite a pressure," William joked.

"Then hurry up and marry me," Michelle responded playfully with a hint of coquetry.

William also wanted to marry her and bring her home, but unfortunately, there was an engagement standing between the two of them.

They quickly arrived at Table 28, where Michelle's high school classmates were seated and conversing.

"Michelle, long time no see. You've become more beautiful," some of the classmates greeted her with a tinge of envy.

Michelle responded to each greeting and engaged in small talk, but everyone's attention was fixed on William who was beside Michelle.

"Michelle, is this your boyfriend? He must be from a wealthy family, right?"

"Michelle is so beautiful. Her boyfriend must be from a prestigious family."

"Just tell us, so we can envy him a little."

The classmates wanted to know what William, Michelle's boyfriend, did for a living and what his background was.

Just as Michelle was about to introduce him, a voice with a hint of mockery suddenly came from behind.

"No need to envy. Michelle's boyfriend is just a poor man. He's currently a department manager, working for others, earning at most ten thousand dollars."

Upon hearing this, everyone at the table turned their heads and saw a handsome young man standing there, a mischievous smirk on his lips. He was dressed in designer clothes, the latest fashion, clearly someone with money.

This person was Cooper, Michelle's classmate from high school, and one of the many who had pursued her. But they were all rejected.

He had seen Michelle and William in the parking garage earlier, and his jealousy flared up. He had his family members check William's identity through the license plate, which was why he was so familiar with William's information and background.

"Michelle, you were also the belle of our high school back then. At the very least, you should have found a decent boyfriend. Why did you choose a poor man?" Cooper said, taking a seat at Table 28.

Upon hearing this, the other classmates couldn't help but seek confirmation.

"Michelle, is this true?"

In truth, they secretly hoped that everything Cooper said was true. Back in high school, Michelle was the belle, the beauty everyone knew. There were plenty of people, including rich heirs, who pursued her, but she rejected them all.

Now that they had graduated, she had actually chosen a poor man as her boyfriend. Just the thought of it made them feel secretly delighted.

"Well, what Cooper said is true. But so what? I like William, and that's enough for me," Michelle said, completely unfazed by their words. As long as it was someone she liked, regardless of wealth, she would wholeheartedly love him.

"So that's how it is. Michelle, you're so beautiful. Why didn't you find someone-"

"Where is the elite noble family?" One of the attractive female classmates, Gabrielle, interjected.

Actually, she was secretly delighted. Back in high school, Michelle always suppressed her. Now that they've graduated, she discovered that Michelle's boyfriend was not that great, and she couldn't help but feel overjoyed.

This is how people are. Jealousy takes hold, and once someone who used to be superior to oneself in every way is not doing so well, there is a sense of satisfaction.

"Michelle, you are so beautiful, yet your taste in boyfriends is not as good as mine." Another slightly attractive female classmate, Annabelle, introduced a handsome guy beside her. "Although my boyfriend is not from a wealthy family, he is the vice president of a company, earning a yearly salary of five hundred thousand dollars."

The other female classmates agreed with Annabelle's words. Michelle may be beautiful, but her taste in boyfriends is really not great.

Just as they were looking down on Michelle, today's bride, Bella, approached their table with a smile.

"You're having such a lively conversation. What are you talking about?"

She came over to collect the gifts and also to bond with these old high school classmates.

"We were just talking about Michelle's boyfriend. By the way, this is my gift. Congratulations on your wedding," Annabelle said, handing over a gift.

"Congratulations on your wedding!" Michelle also handed over a gift, offering her blessings. There was a hint of envy in her eyes; she also wanted to wear a wedding dress.

Soon, everyone at the table presented a gift.

"I heard you like jewelry, so I brought one for you from abroad as a wedding gift. I hope you like it," Cooper said as he opened the small palm-sized box, revealing a red agate necklace inside.

"Oh my god, this must be worth at least one million dollars!" Bella liked jewelry, so she was familiar with the industry. Moreover, her current job is in a jewelry company, so she immediately recognized that this red agate necklace was genuine and worth over one million dollars.

The others at the table looked at it with envy.

"Cooper sure knows how to be generous."

Listening to the classmates' flattering words, Cooper felt proud. When his gaze fell on William, he suddenly wanted to humiliate him further and said to Bella, "We were just talking about Michelle's boyfriend. Do you know what kind of boyfriend she found?"

"Really? Does Michelle have a boyfriend now? Is it this person?" Bella looked around the table and finally set her eyes on William.

William noticed everyone was looking at him and could no longer remain low-key. He slowly stood up and said, "I've also brought a gift for the bride. Now is the perfect time."

William took out a delicately wrapped gift box, about half the size of a washbasin. The classmates sitting there didn't expect much from the contents of the box. After all, what could a poor person with a monthly salary of only $10,000 afford to give as a gift?

Compared to Cooper's necklace, it seemed like a self-inflicted humiliation.

"This is just a little something from me. I hope you'll like it," William said as he opened the gift box. Instantly, a set of sapphire blue jewelry set appeared, including a necklace, bracelet, ring, and earrings.

Seeing this, Bella's eyes widened in shock and disbelief.

"Oh my god, is this..."
