Chapter 342 Fiancée Wants to Call Off the Wedding

At Garden Villa, Terry was sitting on the sofa with a gloomy expression.

Meanwhile, Sophia stood in front of him, silent and nervous. Her expression revealed her unease, evident from her tightly clasped hands, indicating her current state of anxiety.

"I heard that you were getting close with that bastard named William..."

"Is that so?" Terry's eyes emitted a cold aura.

Upon receiving a call from Kylie, Terry rushed over in the middle of the night to question Sophia. If any actions offended the Brown family, Terry's future would be ruined.

"Dad, William is just my bodyguard and a colleague at work. We haven't crossed any boundaries," Sophia said, blushing and hesitating to meet her father's gaze. She was afraid of being found out. If her father knew that she had slept with William, he might kill her.

"Look at me while you say that," Terry said. He understood his daughter too well. Her evasive gaze only confirmed his suspicion.

Controlling her emotions, Sophia made an effort to lift her head and earnestly looked at her father. It was the first time she pretended to lie so seriously.

"Dad, I really have nothing going on with William. Whenever I found myself in danger, he risked his life to save me. I am only grateful to him, nothing more," Sophia said. She was scared that if she revealed the truth, she would never see William again, so she had to keep it from her father.

However, Terry couldn't hold back his anger as he watched Sophia go to great lengths to hide her emotions and deceive him.

"Do you think you can get away with lying to me like this? Let me remind you that you have a fiancé, and many daughters from influential families wish to replace you and marry Mr. Brown. Yet, you, you dare to lie to even me for some country bumpkin," Terry reprimanded, almost roaring at his daughter.

"Whoever wants to marry him can go ahead, I don't want to marry him," Sophia stubbornly retorted.

"What did you say?" Enraged, Terry slapped Sophia across the face, leaving a handprint. It was evident that the slap was forceful, revealing the true level of Terry anger.

Fiona and Kylie, who were secretly watching from the second-floor staircase, were shocked but dared not interfere. They knew this was for Sophia's own good.

"Repeat what you just said to me, I dare you to say it again. I'll beat you to death!" Terry's face turned purple with anger. Marrying into the Brown family was his greatest asset. If he lost this ace, Terry was destined to fail. How could he tolerate failure?

After being slapped by her own father, Sophia's eyes grew slightly red. She covered her face but quickly seemed resolute. Suddenly, she knelt down on the ground and pleaded tearfully to Terry.

"Dad, I don't want to marry Mr. Brown. I want to call off the engagement!"

This statement shocked Terry, and Fiona and Kylie were also taken aback by Sophia's audacious action.

"You, you want to call off the engagement?" Terry asked incredulously.

"Yes, I want to call off the engagement!" Sophia confirmed, her voice determined.

Sophia bit her lip and took a deep breath, determined to speak up. "You're trying to drive me crazy," Terry said, raising his hand to hit Sophia again. She was pushing him to the limit. However, just then, a loud voice suddenly came from the entrance, interrupting his attempt to strike Sophia.

"Stop." As soon as the voice echoed through the villa, everyone instinctively turned their gaze towards the entrance. Each person had a different reaction upon seeing William. "William." Sophia was both startled and thrilled to see him back. She was about to get up and greet him, but her father stopped her. "You kneel here and reflect on your actions." Sophia could only kneel helplessly in place, her eyes fixed on William.

Meanwhile, Terry rolled up his sleeves as he stood up from the couch, and walked towards William with a displeased expression. "So, you're William, the presumptuous bodyguard who took it upon himself to protect my daughter?" Terry's eyes showed hostility. He clapped his hands, and two bodyguards in black suits entered from the entrance. They exuded a steady aura and walked silently, clearly experts in their field.

However, William didn't even regard them, not even giving these masters a second glance. To him, they were nothing more than useless individuals who couldn't even reach the level of grandmasters. "I am William. Recently, Sophia has been targeted with assassination attempts and kidnappings. As her show producer, I took on the additional role of her bodyguard." William calmly looked at Terry and said, completely disregarding the two bodyguards Terry had brought.

"I appreciate your protection of my daughter, but as Sophia's father, I will take care of her. Therefore, you can leave her now. As for your show 'Wilderness Life,' my daughter will no longer be a part of it. We will adhere to the penalty clause stated in the contract, and I will compensate accordingly." Terry intended to first be polite since William risked his life to save his daughter; he didn't want to take extreme measures.

"I'm sorry, but there are grandmaster-level assassins who want to kill your daughter. If you think that these two useless individuals around you can protect Sophia, she will end up dead on the streets sooner or later." William bluntly stated. His words made the two bodyguards Terry brought with him furious.

"What did you say, you bastard? We may not be grandmasters, but our combined strength is enough to fend off grandmaster-level experts. If you dare to speak nonsense again, then you can expect no mercy from us!" the two angry bodyguards said, refusing to be looked down upon.

"Is that so? Then try blocking my attack. If you can withstand it, I will leave immediately and stay away from Sophia from now on. But if you can't, Sophia will continue to be under my protection. What do you say? Are you willing to accept my challenge?" William smirked slightly. This was a matter of great significance, and the two bodyguards couldn't make decisions on their own. They both turned their gaze towards their boss.

Terry considered for a moment before responding, "Alright, I agree!"

In Terry's opinion, William was young and skilled, but not exceptionally powerful. The two Wudang disciples he brought with him, however, were formidable. They were only a step away from becoming grandmasters, and together, they could easily defeat William, let alone withstand a single move from him.

"Okay, I'll keep my word," William said, smirking as he effortlessly outmaneuvered Terry. Sophia, who was still kneeling, nervously watched the scene unfold.
