Chapter 106 Life After Death

The opened book was filled with the character "Blackwood."
If one were to call it a coincidence, then as he flipped further, it was all filled with the characters "Jennifer."
There couldn't be such a coincidental thing in this world.
The priest also noticed and looked stunned. "I grabbed the wrong one. This book is filled already. Let me get you a new one."
He was about to take away the book.
Magnus held on, "The person who wrote this book, is her name Juniper?"
The priest paused and looked at him, "Do you know the person who wrote this book?"
"Yes, this is her handwriting, I can't be mistaken."
The priest nodded, "I understand, the person you're looking for is related to her, right?"
"Yes."

"I have a strong impression of that girl. On the day she went up the mountain, it was getting dark. I saw that she was in despair, so I advised her a few words, and she spent a long time writing in the book in the back hall. The character 'Blackwood' written in the book is your surname, right?"

Magnus's heart trembled.

His fingertips gently traced over the handwriting, feeling the intricacies.

The priest comforted him, "That girl seems kind-hearted, she will surely turn calamity into fortune. Young man, just remain patient for good news."

Magnus, half believing and half doubting, helplessly laughed.

The priest handed him a new prayer book.
Magnus held Juniper's prayer book, reluctant to let go. He said, "I want to look at her handwriting a little longer."
"Alright, you can look at it. I'll leave first."
After the priest left.
Magnus sat alone in the small room.
He looked at the pages filled with the character 'Blackwood', and felt upset.
His fingertips lightly caressed every page.
He sat in the position where she had once sat, writing in the prayer book she had written in.
It felt as if they were overlapping.
His fingertips seemed to touch her warmth and emotions from her handwriting.
Sadness welled up.
Magnus's eyes turned red.
He had never thought that one day, even seeing her would become a kind of obsession.
He could only search for traces of her existence by staring at her handwriting.
He sat there motionless, stubbornly writing the name 'Juniper' on every page.
The characters 'Juniper' filled the entire prayer book.
Later, Magnus hung the cloth strips on the branches of the big banyan tree in Sherlock Valley Church.
On each cloth strip, he wrote Juniper's name.
The priest had never seen such an obsessed person before.

One month passed.
Juniper's funeral had still not been conducted.
Magnus seemed to have recovered from Juniper's death, working normally, eating normally, and even working overtime normally.
On weekends, he would even take Jennifer to the zoo or amusement park.
He was too normal, so normal that it surprised everyone.
Until one evening, Robert successfully dragged Magnus out for a drink.
In Night Harbor Bar, the two of them drank quite a bit, but they weren't completely drunk, and their minds were still clear.
In the bar, there were men and women of all kinds.
A slender figure caught Magnus's sight.
He couldn't help but stand up and walk towards the other person.
Robert was surprised, "Magnus, what are you doing?"

The girl had black long hair tied in a ponytail and was wearing a white dress.
Her silhouette was just like an eighteen-year-old Juniper.
Magnus followed the girl for a long time.
He almost appeared to be a stalker.
Fortunately, Robert showed up in time, and fortunately, Magnus had a handsome face and a good temperament. Plus, they didn't cause any trouble to the girl. Robert apologized and explained, and the matter was resolved.
But it was that day that Robert realized Magnus never moved on.
Even a silhouette that resembled Juniper could distract him.

After Juniper left, Jennifer always sat at the villa entrance with SpongeBob in her arms, and Potato was squatting next to her, waiting for Juniper to come back.
Mike said it's easier to wait for mom when you're full.
So Jennifer ate well, slept well, and was exceptionally obedient.
She was afraid that if she didn't behave, her mom would never come back.
Ophelia came to see Jennifer and brought her many toys.
But Jennifer would ask Ophelia every time, "Godmother, did my mom contact you? You were her closest friend."
Every time Ophelia felt heartbroken in these moments.
She couldn't bear to tell Jennifer that Juniper might never come back.
In this spacious Royal View villa,
When the adult and the child faced each other, no one mentioned Juniper anymore.
Jennifer knew that mentioning mommy would hurt daddy's heart.
Because one time she woke up from a nightmare and wanted to find her dad. When she passed by the study, she saw her dad sitting there, not asleep.
He was holding a silver ring and looking at it.
She recognized that silver ring. Mom used to always wear it around her neck.
Although she was young, she knew that daddy missed mommy even more than she did.
Magnus never talked about Juniper.
But even without mentioning it, Juniper was always on his mind in Royal View.
Magnus bought the house that Juniper used to live in.
He preserved everything that Juniper had used there, the traces of her life, intact.
Sometimes when he worked late and passed by, he would come in and sit down.
He would sit on the couch and open Juniper's phone.
Her phone password was always her birthday.
In her phone gallery, there was a picture of "a family of three."
That was the first time the three of them took a picture together.
It was under Jennifer's insistence that he reluctantly agreed.
But little did they know, this picture would become their last one together.
Magnus often suffered from insomnia.
After Juniper left, his insomnia symptoms worsened.
He took a piece of clothing from her wardrobe and placed it under his pillow, which helped him sleep better.
That clothing had Juniper's scent.

Meanwhile, in Lindwood City.
Inside a high-end private hospital.
Christopher and his adopted son Ronald were questioning the doctor outside the ward.
"Doctor, how is Juniper's condition?"
"Not very optimistic."
Christopher frowned, "I have a connection with this girl, you must do your best to save her."
"Mr. Abbott, I understand, but this girl has a weak will to live due to her illness. She goes in and out of consciousness, and there's not much we can do. Mr. Abbott, do you know what she has been through? How did she end up like this?"
Just as they were speaking, a nurse came out from inside.
"Mr. Abbott, Juniper has woken up."
Christopher, leaning on his cane, immediately entered the ward.
In the room, Juniper looked pale and exhausted.
She slowly opened her eyes and murmured when she saw that familiar face, "Mr. Abbott..."
Christopher approached.
"Juniper, do you still recognize me?"
She nodded, she did recognize him.
"A month ago, at our company's anniversary celebration, on my private yacht, you were swept up by the waves and I rescued you. That's when I found out it was you. Juniper, how did you end up in the sea?"
"Mr. Abbott, I'm sorry. You saved me for nothing. I didn't live for long after that. I have lung cancer."
Desperate Love: sorry for my dear husband
