Chapter 376 New Territory
                    In Skyville.
In the evening, Juniper returned to the hotel and received a video call from Jenny.
As soon as the call connected, Jenny stared with her big, clear eyes, getting close to the camera. Her cute, innocent face suddenly enlarged. "Mom! Did Dad propose?"
Jenny couldn't wait to ask this question as soon as she called.
Juniper smiled and responded, "I'll send you the proposal video later."
"Okay! But I still want to see it live! Dad is so mean, proposing to you while I'm not there! And he didn't even take me to watch the fireworks with you! Luckily, Grandpa set off a lot of fireworks for me!"
Jenny pouted, unhappy.
Juniper looked at her chubby little face and gently coaxed her, "How about we take you out to play during the holidays when Dad and I are off work?"
Jenny's big eyes lit up, and she immediately got excited. "Go out to play? Where to?"
Juniper hadn't thought about it yet and asked her, "Where do you want to go?"
Jenny excitedly said, "I want to go to the amusement park! And the zoo! Mom, you and Dad have never taken me out to play together!"
Juniper's heart softened, feeling a bit guilty, "Then think about what else you want to do, and when the time comes, Dad and I will take you out for the whole winter break, okay?"
"Really? Dad won't make me study while we're playing, will he?"
Under Magnus's "strict discipline," Jenny had developed PTSD.
The phrase Magnus said to Jenny the most was, "Study hard."
Juniper couldn't help but laugh, "Have you been having fun at Grandpa's place? Have you gained weight?"
Jenny honestly said, "Mom, you noticed? The food at Grandpa's is too good, I just ate a little more every day! Grandpa is very nice to me. He asked if I wanted to stay in Southern City forever so I could always have good food! Mom, are we going back to Imperial Capital?"
Now that they were back at Christopher's Mansion, Juniper had also thought about the issue of living in two places.
Since they hadn't registered their marriage or held a wedding, living separately for now wasn't a big deal.
But over time, it would be sad for Jenny not to see Magnus.
Previously, she and Magnus couldn't truly be together due to a huge rift, but now that they had decided to be together for the long haul, it would be better for the three of them to live together as a family.
Juniper asked, "So where do you want to be? Do you want to stay in Southern City with Grandpa or be with Dad?"
Jenny blinked her big eyes, pursed her lips, and was silent for a moment before suddenly asking, "Mom, can I speak my mind?"
Juniper nodded. "Of course you can."
The little one said, "Then if I say it, you can't tell Dad!"
"Okay, go ahead."
Jenny said bluntly, "I like Grandpa more right now! Grandpa is so good to me! Unlike Dad, who only tells me to study, study, study! Mom, while you were on your business trip, Grandpa took me on the carousel several times!"
A child's world was simple; they didn't want to do homework, loved to play, and prefered the grandparent who indulged them.
That was normal.
Seeing that she was doing well, Juniper felt relieved, "Although Grandpa spoils you, Dad isn't wrong either. You can play when it's time to play, but you still need to study hard. How's your schoolwork lately? Have you been slacking off?"
Another figure appeared in the video.
Christopher walked over.
Juniper called out, "Dad."
Christopher sat next to Jenny and smiled, "You don't need to worry about Jenny's schoolwork. She's very smart. Her private tutor says she has a strong learning ability, but she can't sit still, like she has ants in her pants."
Juniper asked, "Could it be ADHD?"
"No, kids her age are naturally active and playful. It's normal. A few days ago, I took her to a professional institution to test her IQ. It's 140. Quinn, if you and Magnus ever run off, Jenny can stay with me. Whether you inherit or she inherits, it's the same."
Juniper was shocked, "Dad, why did you suddenly think of taking Jenny for an IQ test?"
"The private tutor suggested it, saying Jenny has a high comprehension ability and good memory. I had nothing to do at home, so I had the driver take us. Anyway, it's not like it could show she's a fool. Even if she were, we the Abbotts can afford to raise her."
Jenny pouted and asked, "Does having an IQ of 140 mean I don't have to study?"
This time, Juniper and Christopher spoke in unison, "No."
Jenny held her head in her hands, frowning, "Then what's the use of IQ? Fools have to study, and smart people have to study too."
Juniper said, "Your dad is very smart too, but he works hard. If smart people work hard, they'll be even smarter. If smart people don't study or work hard, they'll become fools too."
Christopher patted the little one's head and said, "Jenny, go play by yourself for a bit. I need to talk to your mom about something important."
After Jenny left, Christopher asked, "Is everything going smoothly working with Karen in Skyville?"
"It's going well. Karen and I get along fine, Dad. You don't need to worry."
Christopher smiled and nodded, "When you come back from this business trip, do you have any plans?"
Juniper was taken aback, "What plans?"
"Don't play dumb. Didn't Magnus go to Skyville to propose to you? He posted it so openly on Facebook. How could I not see it?"
"Dad, you look at Facebook too."
For some reason, Juniper felt a bit guilty, like she had been caught doing something wrong by an elder.
Christopher snorted, "It's not that he can't marry you, but you're my only daughter. He still has to pass my test."
Juniper smiled, "Dad, I'm not in a hurry, and right now, I'm just getting into the Windsor Group's business."
Christopher teased, "Not in a hurry? Then don't think about marriage for the next three years."
Juniper's smile faded, and she said seriously, "Dad, I want to borrow some money from you."
"How much do you need? I'll have my assistant transfer it to you."
Juniper shook her head, "No, I don't need a small amount. I need startup capital for a project. This is business. If it succeeds, it should pay back within a year."
"What project do you want to do?"
Juniper said, "I've made a project proposal over the past couple of days. I'll send it to you later. Dad, if you think my idea is good, then invest in it. If you don't, then forget it."
"Tell me what you want to do first."
Juniper took a deep breath. Even though the person in front of her was her father, Christopher was a big shot.
Facing a big shot and talking about her ideas made her feel a bit excited and nervous.
"Recently, I've almost figured out the main projects of the Windsor Group. Ronald mainly handles traditional projects, property management, and real estate, which are housing-related; Karen mainly handles the resort hotels, which are tourism-related; the new energy sector is managed by several senior executives, which is transportation-related."
Christopher's eyes lit up, "So the new project you want to develop is?"
Juniper said, "It's about the food and beverage sector. I found that the Windsor Group hasn't ventured into the food and beverage field, which is a gap. Moreover, from what I've learned, no company currently dominates the food and beverage sector, and there's no company that can't be surpassed."
"Even pre-made meals can enter the market, so I think the potential for food and beverage projects is huge. If done well, developing a chain could definitely become an important part of the Windsor Group's business in the future."
"And now, with the economy being bad, people might not buy houses or cars, and they might not spend on resort hotels, but their spare money will definitely go towards food and drink. They can afford a few hundred dollars for a meal, and if the food is good, their willingness to spend will be high."
"Dad, Ronald and Karen have built their projects from scratch. I don't want to take over their projects just because I'm your biological daughter. If I want to take over your position, I need to create my own projects to gain respect. If I take over their projects, they won't truly respect me."
