Chapter 306 Mrs. Blackwood
As soon as Juniper finished speaking, she took out her phone, opened the front camera, and took a selfie.
In the photo, Juniper was leaning on Magnus's shoulder, one arm around his neck, and the other making a "V" sign.
Magnus was carrying her, and since he hadn't adjusted his expression in time, he looked slightly serious in the photo.
Magnus chuckled, "Are you taking a picture of us or just yourself?"
Juniper looked down to study his face. "Your face looks great no matter how you take the photo."
A handsome guy's face was perfect from every angle, and it didn't need any special atmosphere.
His stunning facial features came with their own filter and high-end feel.
Magnus didn't care about how the photo looked. He lifted her up a bit and said, "Send me the photo."
Juniper said, "Let me add a filter and touch it up before I send it to you."
Magnus raised an eyebrow slightly. "Didn't you say it looks great no matter how you took it? Why does it need touching up?"
Juniper replied, "I'm only touching up myself."
Magnus was stunned and smiled dotingly.
They soon arrived at the cathedral. Late at night, they sneaked in through a side door. The cathedral was lit up but completely empty.
At first, Magnus thought she came in to take some tourist photos.
Juniper stood beside him, pondering softly, "It would be nice if there were a priest here."
Puzzled, Magnus asked, "What do you need a priest for?"
Juniper's heart raced as she stood beside him. Suddenly, she turned her head, her eyes bright, and said, "This is Solara. There are no Crestoria media, no public scrutiny, and no fluctuations in SY's stock market. Magnus, right now in Solara, without any external obstacles, would you... marry me?"
Although she didn't care for ceremonies and wasn't religious, at this moment, this cathedral was the best place for a ceremony and vows.
Magnus's eyes widened in shock, clearly taken aback. "Juniper... here? Are you sure?"
There were no flowers, no guests, no applause here. And as she said, there wasn't even a priest to witness them.
In this empty, barren cathedral, it felt like she was being wronged.
Juniper asked tentatively, "Or... even without those external obstacles, you still don't want to marry me?"
Magnus looked at her deeply. He lowered his eyes, took her hand, and felt a dull ache in his chest, filled with sorrow.
He sighed softly, "It feels like I'm wronging you here. Besides, proposing is something a man should do."
Juniper had already proposed marriage. Didn't that make him seem too passive, too bad?
She was about to say she didn't feel wronged when Magnus had already knelt on one knee. He took out a pink diamond from his coat pocket and smiled, "Good thing I brought the ring."
Juniper was surprised. "Why did you bring the ring?"
Magnus said sincerely, "It belongs to you. When I came to Solara, I saw it gathering dust on my desk and thought I'd bring it to you. The ring looks best and is most valuable on your finger."
He held the pink diamond, took Juniper's hand, looked up at her, and said slowly, "No matter what we've been through, Juniper, I still believe that falling in love with you is something I never regret."
Despite everything that had happened and how things seemed different, their feelings for each other remained the same.
These words weren't particularly special, but given all that she and Magnus had been through, maintaining their feelings was incredibly difficult.
Magnus solemnly asked, "Juniper, do you want to marry Magnus and be his wife, to love and cherish, in wealth and in greater wealth, in health and in better health?"
Juniper's eyes reddened slightly, and she smiled, reminding him, "You said it wrong."
It was supposed to be for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health.
Magnus smiled faintly, his eyes filled with indulgence and affection. "I didn't say it wrong. I don't want you to suffer with me. Marrying me is for a better life. If marrying me means you have to suffer, then it's the beginning of a tragedy, and marriage would be meaningless."
Juniper smiled, but tears fell from her eyes. She instinctively covered her mouth with her hand, her voice slightly choked, "As long as I'm with you, I'm willing... Magnus."
Magnus looked at her eyes. "No regrets?"
Juniper sniffled and nodded seriously. "No regrets."
The pink diamond slid onto her left ring finger.
Magnus stood up, leaned slightly towards her, and teased gently, "Can the groom kiss the bride now?"
He asked, but the kiss had already landed. He cupped Juniper's face with one hand, kissing her tenderly and passionately. Their noses gently touched.
Juniper opened her eyes slightly and asked, "Are we considered married now?"
Magnus knew what she was concerned about and reassured her, "When we get back, we'll register the marriage and have a wedding ceremony."
Juniper wrapped her arms around his waist and looked up slightly. "You're mine now."
Magnus smiled happily, "Yes, I'm yours, Mrs. Blackwood."
He took out his wallet, pulled out a secondary card, and placed it in her palm.
Juniper held the card between her slender fingers and teased, "Is this for household expenses?"
Magnus pinched her cheek with his long fingers. "This time, don't give it back, Mrs. Blackwood."
Juniper asked, "So I can spend as much as I want?"
Magnus said, "Whatever makes you happy."
On the way back, Juniper leaned on his shoulder and curiously asked, "If we argue, will you freeze this card?"
Magnus laughed, "Juniper, do I seem like such a petty man?"
If they really argued and she ran away from home, he wouldn't freeze her card.
If she ended up on the streets, hungry and cold, and he couldn't find her immediately, her using his secondary card would help him locate her quickly.
Juniper nodded silently. Magnus had always been generous with her, especially with money.
Even when Magnus hadn't been as rich as he was now, he would buy her whatever she wanted.
Juniper vividly remembered a time when she and Ophelia went shopping and saw a very expensive diamond necklace. She casually mentioned it to him, and he took her to the store to buy it.
She thought it was too expensive, but Magnus didn't even blink before swiping his card.
But that diamond necklace, which she wore around her neck for only a few days, got lost.
She searched the classroom thoroughly but couldn't find it and ended up crying. It was nearly thirty thousand dollars.
For Magnus at the time, thirty thousand dollars was a year's rent.
Juniper felt she was too careless and was so guilty that she didn't dare face him.
When Magnus came to pick her up, he asked why she was crying.
She hesitated for a long time before tearfully telling him the truth.
Magnus was momentarily stunned, then laughed in exasperation. He ruffled her hair and asked, "So you stayed in the classroom and didn't go home just because you lost the necklace?"
Juniper felt incredibly guilty and asked why he didn't scold her. She would have felt better if he had.
