Chapter 405 Your Leg is Healed? (2)
                    Juniper quickly denied, "I didn't."
Magnus's face turned stormy. "You pretended to be me and flirted with her."
Juniper looked puzzled. "How did I flirt with her? I told her to find another guy."
Magnus, annoyed, deleted the WhatsApp chat with Clio. He tossed his phone aside, took a long stride, and pressed his right knee beside her leg, gripping the back of her neck with a large hand, his eyes dangerous. "Am I not good enough?"
She was discussing with another woman whether he was good enough? What kind of nonsense was that?
Juniper didn't dare to answer.
Magnus leaned down, scooped her up horizontally, and pressed her onto the couch. "I see your leg is healed?"
"No, no."
It still hurt!
Magnus stared at her deeply, half-smiling. "You're already discussing with others whether I'm good enough. I bet your leg was perfectly fine."
Juniper forced a smile and pushed him away. "I have plans with Ophelia today to try several restaurants. If you hurt me now, how will I go out later? And besides, what time is it? Shouldn't you be at the office?"
Magnus pressed on relentlessly. "What about tonight? Can I do whatever I want then?"
Juniper tried to delay, casually agreeing.
Seeing her quick agreement, Magnus's mood improved slightly, and he ruffled the back of her head. "Which restaurants are you going to? I'll go with you."
Juniper wriggled out of his embrace and headed upstairs to the walk-in closet. "No need, I already made plans with Ophelia."
Magnus didn't insist. It was the start of the year, and there were many affairs to handle at the company.
As Juniper walked up the stairs, she suddenly remembered something and turned back, leaning on the railing, asking Magnus downstairs, "By the way, will you take me to see your mom?"
Previously, she had misunderstood Ava as the culprit, so she had been avoiding meeting his mother. But now, Magnus had proposed to her, and Ava wasn't the one who pushed Lyra. Before registering their marriage, Magnus should take her to visit his mother, after all, she was his biological mother. She hadn't officially visited yet.
Mentioning Ava, Magnus's eyes darkened noticeably. He suppressed the turmoil in his eyes, then looked up at Juniper, showing no emotion. "Maybe later, let's go to the countryside first to see my dad. He doesn't know about our marriage plans yet."
Juniper's eyes curved into a smile. "Let's take Jenny to see Joseph then. He hasn't met Jenny yet."
Magnus smiled. "Then as a grandpa, he better prepare a gift."
Thinking of this, Juniper remembered the matter of meeting gifts and couldn't help but ask, "Magnus, since you're taking me to see your mother and Joseph, should I buy gifts while I'm out today?"
"If you see something suitable, you can buy it, but it's not necessary. They don't care about that."
Especially on Ava's side. He hadn't figured out how to explain that matter to Juniper, or whether he should explain it now. When Juniper was taken away, Ava's role in it was still unknown. He didn't plan to take Juniper to see Ava for now.
At this moment, Clio's doorbell rang. When she opened the door, the delivery person handed her a package. "Your package, please sign."
It was a delivery Juniper had arranged. After she signed for it, the delivery person gave her a fixed look and suddenly said, "You're prettier than the one at Royal View, more suited to the man of that house!"
Clio was shocked and extremely surprised. "Who... who are you? Why are you saying this?"
The delivery person wrote a string of numbers on the package with a pen. "If you're interested, call me. I can help you achieve your dreams!" After delivering the package, the guy in the blue delivery uniform came down from upstairs. He cautiously scanned the surroundings, then walked out of the community and hopped into a black Hummer.
Once inside, he frowned and started peeling off his clothes. He glanced at the car mirror and noticed the skin near his temples wrinkling. A sharp look of displeasure flashed in his eyes. "Tell the disguise team to step up their game. This human skin mask isn't close-fitting enough!"
The more he looked, the more irritated he got. He ripped off the mask, revealing a handsome but wicked face underneath.
In the front seat, his assistant, codenamed "Hawk," responded, "Yes, Mr. Cole. But Clio is just an ordinary person. Can she really help us take on Magnus?"
In the back seat, Glenn put on a ring. Once the mask was off, his whole vibe changed, making him a completely different person from the delivery guy earlier.
Glenn's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Don't underestimate ordinary people, especially someone like Clio who's desperate to climb up. She'll do anything to get what she wants. She's just a pawn; if she can be used, great. If not, no big deal. By the way, have you found the traitor's whereabouts?"
Hawk hesitated. "We haven't found Sophie yet. I suspect... she not only defected but also joined Agency 719."
Glenn sneered, cursing through gritted teeth, "Useless!"
"Mr. Cole, we're changing identities every day. Like today, you went into Magnus's house alone. Should we just capture Juniper?"
"Capture Juniper? Are you out of your mind? Do you know where we are? Capturing Juniper in the Imperial Capital? Juniper is Magnus's lifeline. Do you think he would let us leave the Imperial Capital alive?"
Risking his life to capture Juniper wasn't worth it.
Hawk hesitated. "But we're here alone, with little support. I'm afraid..."
Glenn's eyes were as sharp as blades. "If you're scared, go back to Avelonia!"
However, Glenn wasn't easy to deal with either. Although the Imperial Capital was Magnus's territory and he couldn't provoke Magnus, Magnus couldn't catch him either. With millions of people moving around, he and Hawk could change identities every hour at their fastest. Magnus's people wouldn't find them.
Moreover, the most dangerous place was the safest place. He thought of a good place to go and found it interesting. "Change identities, let's go to Southern City."
"To infiltrate Windsor Group and steal secrets?"
Glenn raised an eyebrow and cursed. "Damn it! Is stealing all you can think of?"
"Then what?"
"Most likely, Magnus and Juniper will return to Southern City. I want to infiltrate the Abbotts."
Hawk was worried. "Won't that be risky?"
Glenn was reckless. "With fiery girl around, what are you afraid of?"
"Fiery girl? Is she one of us?"
Glenn rolled his eyes at him, leaned back in the seat, and couldn't be bothered. "Shut up, wake me when we get to Southern City."
He was thinking about what identity to use to approach Althea this time. He wondered if Althea would recognize him, but Althea didn't know who he was. Last time, the K identity's human skin mask wasn't well-made. To be precise, it was ugly. Much uglier than him!
Glenn once again cursed the disguise artist's skills in his mind. But taking such a big risk to come to Crestoria, while executing his plan, he could also watch fireworks with her or something. This idea didn't seem bad.
With eyes shut, Glenn involuntarily curved his lips upward.
