Chapter 361 Learning the Truth

In the hotel.

Magnus was working on his laptop, handling business matters.

The caregiver called again, "Mr. Blackwood, something terrible happened! Your mother was insisting on finding your father, she ran out and fell down the stairs!"

Magnus's eyes widened, "How is she?"

"She broke her leg and has been taken to the hospital. When are you coming back? She's been acting really strange these past few days, and I'm afraid I can't handle it."

Magnus held his phone, raised his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, feeling a headache coming on, "I'll be back tomorrow morning. Send me the hospital address and room number."

"Okay."

Just as he hung up the phone, the door to the room opened.

Juniper came back, carrying some food in her hand, "I went nearby and bought two servings of fried chicken."

Magnus got up and walked over, taking the bag from her hand, "Why do you still like eating this stuff? I was planning to take you out for a nice dinner tonight."

"It's been a long time since I had it, and I'm too tired today. I really don't want to go out."

Juniper, looking disheveled, went to wash her face and came out of the bathroom.

Magnus was already unpacking the takeout boxes. As soon as he opened the lid, the aroma of fried chicken filled the room.

Juniper sat down, and Magnus handed her a pair of disposable gloves.

She just looked at him for a moment without taking them, "Magnus, is there a secret you're not telling me?"

"A secret?"

There was, but he was planning to surprise her.

Had she discovered something?

Juniper took the disposable gloves and started eating the fried chicken, seemingly nonchalant, "Let's talk after we eat. I'm starving."

She had been busy at the factory all afternoon and was already famished.

Her hair, loose and disheveled, kept falling over her face as she ate.

She tried to push it back several times but couldn't stop eating, eventually getting frustrated, her brows furrowing slightly.

Magnus put down his fried chicken, picked up a hair tie from the table, and suddenly stood up, moving behind her.

With his large hands, he gathered her long hair over one shoulder.

But he wasn't very skilled, and her hair was too slippery, so it took him several tries to tie it up.

Juniper stopped eating and suddenly straightened up, speaking calmly with her back to him, "Sinclair called me just now."

Magnus's hands paused noticeably, but his tone remained calm, "What did she say?"

"She said Patricia is dead, she and Michael are getting divorced, and she is leaving the Imperial Capital soon, so she wanted to let me know."

Juniper's hair was finally tied up, not very neatly, but at least it wasn't falling all over the place.

Magnus sat back down, looking at her, "What else did she say?"

Juniper's voice was somewhat muffled, "Sinclair also said that the person who pushed my mom back then was Patricia."

Magnus admitted, "Yes, I never told you about it. I was planning to find the right time to confess, but now..."

Juniper's eyelashes trembled, and she interrupted him, "How did Patricia die?"

Magnus's expression was calm, his voice steady, "I sent Paul to find her. She fled to S City, and during the chase, Patricia ran across the street and was hit by a car. Sinclair didn't tell you that?"

Juniper shook her head, "She didn't mention those details."

"Patricia was dead anyway, don't worry about her. Aren't you hungry? Eat up."

Juniper picked up the fried chicken and took a bite.

She suddenly asked, "Magnus, what exactly is Agency 719?"

She wasn't naive enough to believe that Patricia's death was just an accident.

Magnus looked at her deeply, "Are you scared?"
