Chapter 374 Showing Affection
Juniper finished reading the popular comments and then clicked on Magnus's Facebook to take a look.
Under the post about the successful proposal, many mutual friends were commenting and making a fuss—
Ronald: [We haven't agreed yet, take it back!]
Aria: [No need to treat bipolar disorder anymore, someone is the cure, and I've lost a big client! Let's settle the treatment fee here!]
Odis: [The poison is cured, the eyes are healed, the proposal is successful, and you're in a good mood. You're a winner in life. Damn it, you can be smug again!]
Jenny: [Dad, why did you propose secretly when I wasn't around? I'm mad!]
Even Karen commented: [Treat me to a meal.]
Juniper chuckled, didn't comment, and just silently liked the post.
Suddenly, a pair of arms hugged her from behind, and Magnus rubbed his chin on the top of her head, "What are you laughing at?"
Juniper showed him his post, "Posting while I was asleep?"
Magnus was indifferent, "I did it openly."
Juniper said, "Jenny is upset. She didn't see you propose."
"Isn't there a video? We can send it to her."
Juniper laughed, "Magnus, you better think about how to appease her next time you see her."
Magnus looked down at her, his eyes deepening, "Still calling me Magnus?"
"We're not married yet."
It was just a successful proposal.
She still felt a bit awkward calling him honey.
Magnus asked, "Juniper, when do you plan to make our relationship public?"
"All our friends know you proposed successfully."
Magnus frowned slightly, "Is that considered public?"
Juniper was slightly stunned, "Then what do you want?"
"Being secretly happy doesn't suit me."
Juniper was a bit confused, "What do you mean?"
Magnus looked at her, his expression serious, but his words carried a hint of arrogance, "I want everyone to witness our relationship."
Juniper was taken aback, then laughed, "Magnus, since when did you like being so high-profile?"
He was usually reserved and low-key, always steady and discreet.
This was completely out of character for him.
Magnus raised an eyebrow slightly, "High-profile?"
Juniper spoke honestly, "Yes."
Magnus asked, "Will you cooperate with my high-profile then?"
Juniper reminded him, "My dad doesn't know yet."
Mentioning Christopher, Magnus seriously thought for a few seconds, "Once he agrees, we'll register for marriage?"
Juniper was about to say something when Magnus's phone rang.
The caller ID showed Paul.
He hesitated for a few seconds but still answered the call in front of Juniper.
Paul said, "Mr. Blackwood, I've checked the staff on duty at Evergreen Hospital's obstetrics department on June 6, 1998. I've sent the list to your email."
Magnus responded and didn't say much more, then told Paul, "We'll talk when I get back to Imperial Capital."
After hanging up the phone.
Juniper asked him, "Is work very busy? When do you plan to go back to New York?"
"What about you? When will you be done here?"
Juniper pondered, "It will probably take a while longer, but it should be over in less than two months."
Magnus lowered his face to ask her, "Do you want me to stay here with you for a few days?"
"No need, once I'm done here, I'll take a vacation. You can accompany me and Jenny then."
Him being here would actually affect her work progress.
Magnus sighed lightly, "I just proposed and you're already sending me away?"
"I'm not."
Juniper glanced at the lit phone screen. She had washed up and was scrolling through her phone. It was almost nine o'clock.
She quickly pushed Magnus away, grabbed her phone, and put it in her bag, "It's already this late, I have to go to the factory. Will you still be here when I get back?"
Magnus looked at her and deliberately said, "No."
Juniper had already walked to the door with her bag but quickly came back, pulled down his neck, and kissed him on the lips, "Then I won't see you off. I remember you brought a driver?"
Juniper hurried off to work, leaving Magnus alone at the hotel.
Magnus gently pressed his lips with his thumb and smiled helplessly.
That kiss was really perfunctory.
But...
In the afternoon, when Magnus left Skyville.
Sitting in the back seat, he saw a new post from Juniper—
"Happy New Year, wishing for many more to come."
The picture was a photo of pink fireworks taken last night.
Magnus looked at the post, his lips unconsciously curling up.
He casually commented, "We'll have many more to come."
As soon as he posted the comment, their mutual friends chimed in.
Robert replied to Magnus's comment: [Enough, be careful not to overdo it.]
Karen: [It's work time, don't slack off and torture single people on Facebook!]
Ronald: [Quinn, Happy New Year!]
Ophelia: [Let me tell you a scary story, a lot of people probably drowned in the river of love! If you can't swim, be careful! Happy New Year~]
William: [Juniper, Happy New Year! When do you have time to grab a meal? It's been a while. Where was this fireworks show?]
Jenny: [Mom, Happy New Year! Grandpa and I will video call you tonight!]
Magnus retorted to Robert's comment: [I can handle sweet things now, don't worry, I won't overdo it.]
On the other side.
Sinclair saw Juniper's post and silently liked it.
She had added her on Facebook after calling her a while ago.
She switched back to Juniper's chat and sent a message: [Congratulations, you got what you wanted.]
Juniper: [Have you left Imperial Capital yet?]
Sinclair: [Not yet, but soon. We've already set a date to finalize the divorce.]
Juniper didn't know what to say, so she replied: [I wish you all the best. Happy New Year.]
After a long time.
Sinclair finally replied: [Thank you, Happy New Year.]
Three days later, Sinclair received a call.
It was from Michael.
She took a deep breath and answered, "Hello?"
"I'm downstairs at your place. It's a bit cold outside, wear something warm before coming down."
They had agreed that he would come to take her to finalize the divorce today.
Michael kept his word.
Sinclair put on a long down jacket, grabbed her documents, and headed out with her bag.
At the courthouse.
The staff routinely asked, "Why are you getting a divorce?"
Michael said, "It's my fault."
Sinclair said, "No feelings left."
They said it almost simultaneously.
Hearing "no feelings left," Michael suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest.
The staff noded. "I see you've already submitted divorce papers before. Are you sure you want to go through with it? This isn't an impulsive decision, right?"
