Chapter 117: No Right or Wrong, Only Choices

At Christopher's mansion, Jerry had instructed the chef to prepare a large selection of delicious food long ago.

Christopher was originally sitting on the couch. He glanced at the time on his watch, then got up and walked to the door to wait.

Beside him, Jerry smiled and said, "Juniper should be here in a few minutes."

"Where's Karen? Did you call to remind her?"

"Miss Karen said she has to work overtime tonight and is temporarily unavailable, so she asked you to go ahead and eat without her."

Christopher sighed, "That girl, although diligent, sometimes works too hard."

As they were talking, a black Bentley drove into the yard. Ronald and Juniper got out of the car. Juniper immediately saw Christopher waiting at the door.

She walked up to him, her eyes slightly warm, "Christopher, I've come back to repay you."

Christopher was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter. He patted Juniper on the shoulder and said, "Good!"

After dinner, Christopher called Juniper to the study for a chat, asking her about her future plans. Juniper handed him a bank card.

"What's this?"

"I earned some money from singing online and doing advertisements. Although this amount is insignificant to you, Christopher, it's the payment we agreed upon."

Christopher pointed at Juniper, smiled wryly, and said, "You're quite persistent."

"Please accept it, otherwise I'll feel guilty."

Seeing Juniper's insistence, he stopped refusing and said, "Alright, I'll accept it."

Juniper honestly said, "I just returned and haven't thought about my future plans. So much has happened before, and I haven't really developed my career properly. This time, I want to find something to do, anything will do, I just can't waste time like before."

"That's a good idea. You're still young and you have to strive. I remember you graduated from Imperial Capital University, right?"

Juniper nodded, "Yes."

"You used to work in M country for treatment. I noticed you weren't in a good mood, but I didn't inquire much. I've always been curious, since you graduated from a prestigious university, how did you end up in real estate sales?"

Mentioning this, Juniper's eyes dimmed slightly. "Because of some personal reasons."

"Were you forced to do it by Magnus?"

Juniper replied vaguely, "Sort of, but I can't blame him. I was the one who wronged him first. Christopher, you should know that Magnus had three years of imprisonment, right?"

"I do know some of that, but I'm not very familiar with the details. Magnus is well-educated and doesn't seem like someone who would act impulsively. Could he have been framed?"

Juniper nodded, "The person who framed him and sent him to prison was me."

Christopher looked quite surprised. After Juniper explained her reasons, Christopher sighed, "I never expected such twists between you two."

"Yes, between him and me, there's never been right or wrong, only choices."

Fate always pushed them to the brink of decision-making time and time again. It was always a choice between two options. Seven years ago, when she stood in court and chose Lyra, their relationship was irreparable.

Her biological father, Alexander, killed his biological father, Benjamin. Subsequent events, Lyra's accidental death, and her connection to Ava...

Juniper had thought about it for a whole year. She wondered, if she survived, how she would face Magnus. As an enemy? Former wife? Stranger?

Regardless of the identity she chose, they had hurt each other.

However, they still had Jennifer.

Saying they would never meet again was impossible. As long as Jennifer was there, they would eventually meet.

Sooner or later, there was no escape.

"Are you going back to Imperial Capital tomorrow? Besides paying respects to your mother, do you want to see your child?"

"I want to, but I don't know how to."

Christopher naturally understood her dilemma. "There's no rush for now. If you haven't figured them out, even if you meet, it will only make things messy. It's better to wait until you adjust your mindset and can face Magnus with a calm attitude before seeing the child. Although I've only met Magnus a few times, I can tell he's a responsible father. Jennifer is doing well, you don't need to blame yourself too much."

Juniper was taken aback. "Christopher, how do you know?" "Have you forgotten? Our company has had a long-term partnership with SY. Recently, I went to SY for business negotiations. After the meeting, Magnus invited me to his office. He asked me to look for you in the south, and inquired if I had any news.

"Of course, I just brushed it off. Around five o'clock, his assistant brought a child in. You never told me that you and Magnus had a child, so I was surprised that day, thinking it was a relative's child.

"After asking, I found out that the child was his daughter. She had a small backpack and was doing her homework. The child really likes Magnus. Magnus said he's busy with work, so he often brings the child with him to spend more time together.

"I asked him if he's not afraid of not being able to get a girlfriend by always having the child around.

"He said he doesn't need a girlfriend and doesn't plan to date or marry in the future. By having the child around, he can avoid unnecessary relationships.

"I saw Jennifer, she seemed cheerful. During the time you were away, they seemed to be doing well."

Juniper lowered her gaze to hide the complex emotions in her eyes. She smiled faintly and said, "He always keeps his word and is a good father. Jennifer will be fine with him. Christopher, thank you for telling me all this."

"I'm telling you this so you don't torment yourself over these matters. If it's not possible between you and the child's father, it's not necessarily a bad thing for the child to be with the father. There's no rule that says a child must be with the mother to be happy. If he's a good father, Jennifer can be with him, right? Juniper, you're still young, you said you wasted too much time before, this time, you need to consider yourself more. You are you, not anyone's appendage."

"Every time I talk to you, you always comfort me. Christopher, you're not just an old friend, you're my life mentor."

"Juniper, I'm not just comforting you. My judgment is not wrong. In the future, you will definitely shine in your own field. You have resilience and can endure hardships. Don't get stuck in trivial matters of love and relationships. Some things may seem like dead ends now, but time will provide the best answers. In the future, you will carve out your own place."

"Thank you, Christopher."

Juniper left the study and returned to her room. She picked up her phone and logged onto Twitter. This was her newly registered Twitter account, with only one person added. There was a message for her.

I Don't Want to Go to School: [Sis, are you back? When will you hold a concert? I want to take my dad to attend your concert!]
