Chapter 235 Protecting Her with His Life
The masked dude signaled to Alexander, "Let her go."
Alexander wasn't having it. "Magnus is up to something! If we let Juniper go..."
"This ain't your business."
The masked guy's voice was rough, clearly altered.
His tone carried an undeniable command, and Alexander instinctively refrained from opposing him.
He shoved Juniper forward.
She stumbled right into Magnus's arms, and he grabbed her like she was a lost treasure.
"Magnus..."
Juniper started to say something.
Magnus, with his arm around her, moved behind her to untie the rope around her wrists. He whispered, "In a moment, we'll jump off the yacht together and escape on the speedboat."
But with so many people on the other side, could they really escape?
Juniper was a bit skeptical, but she chose to trust Magnus.
She nodded to him, "Okay."
Magnus bent down to untie the rope around her ankles.
"Juniper, you scared?"
There might be a bloody gunfight.
He wasn't sure if they could escape safely, but he would do everything in his power to protect Juniper and get her out of there.
Juniper held his hand, "With you here, I'm not afraid."
She looked at him with firm eyes, which were once clouded with tears but now bright and clear, like stars.
From the moment he stepped onto the yacht despite the danger, Juniper had made up her mind, if they could survive, she would give herself another chance to be with him, provided he was still willing.
Magnus gazed at her with a gentle look, his eyes deep and complex, brimming with a whirlwind of emotions.
Juniper didn't suspect anything at the time, but later, when she thought back, his eyes was filled with the sadness of farewell.
Magnus hugged her tightly again, as if to meld their souls together.
On the deck, the sea breeze lifted Juniper's hair.
Magnus kissed her lips and whispered, "The seawater will be a bit cold, bear with it, someone will come to rescue you."
Juniper hadn't reacted yet, her hands still around his waist, and the next second, Magnus pushed her forcefully into the sea.
Juniper realized something, but soon, she sank into the sea, and in the haze, she seemed to hear gunshots from the yacht!
The seawater quickly engulfed all her consciousness.
On the yacht, the men in black were about to shoot.
Magnus unzipped his jacket, revealing the bomb strapped to his body, "Who dares to shoot?"
Alexander was shocked!
He didn't expect Magnus to be so reckless.
The masked man sneered and shot Magnus in the left leg!
The masked man shouted to his subordinate, "Chase that speedboat!"
Magnus fell to his knees, gritting his teeth, "Who dares to chase?"
He raised the bomb remote control in his right hand.
He slowly lifted his head, the veins on his temples throbbing violently.
He stared at the masked man and ordered word by word, "Let that speedboat leave! Otherwise, we'll all die together! If you don't believe me, you can try!"
A subordinate asked, "Sir, should we chase?"
The masked man was speechless.
When Magnus was really about to press the bomb button, the masked man gritted his teeth, "Magnus! You bastard!"
Magnus sneered disdainfully, "I didn't expect people from the Shadow Syndicate to be such sore losers."
Alexander hid behind the masked man, anxiously saying, "Magnus is a madman! If he really presses the button, we'll all be dead! It's not worth it for so many of us to die with him!"
The masked man coldly scolded, "If you're afraid of dying, jump off!"
Alexander instantly shut up, clutching the silver briefcase like his life depended on it, plotting his escape with the cash.
The masked man barked, "Magnus, hand over the remote!"
Magnus smirked, "What if I don't?"
The masked man raised his gun, aiming at Magnus's right arm, "You really think I won't shoot?"
"Go ahead, try. Let's see if your aim's better or if I'm faster at pressing this button," Magnus taunted.
The masked man aimed a few times but didn't dare pull the trigger.
Magnus might actually press the button!
"Is it worth sacrificing yourself to let that woman go? How about we make a deal?" the masked man suggested.
Magnus sneered, "You think you're worthy of making a deal with me?"
"Don't push it!"
Suddenly, a deafening horn blasted through the night sky!
"Damn! We're surrounded by warships!" a subordinate shouted.
"What did you say? Warships?"
"It seems they're from Agency 719!"
Gunshots rang out continuously!
The men in black on the yacht dropped one by one!
It was complete chaos!
The masked man yelled, "Throw the bombs!!"
Magnus swiftly rolled over, grabbed a gun, and took out several men in black with precise shots!
The masked man shot him in the left shoulder, "Magnus Blackwood! So you're from Agency 719!"
Magnus gritted his teeth in pain, the veins on his neck bulging, "Figured it out a bit late, didn't ya?"
The masked man's thigh got hit too!
Magnus was about to make a break for it, but the masked man grabbed his leg and dragged him back!
They both crashed onto the yacht deck, wrestling and fighting with bare hands!
Neither gained the upper hand.
Soon, they were both covered in blood.
The yacht was no match for the warships, but because Magnus was on board, the warships didn't dare to bombard it.
After a brutal fight, the masked man rolled over, grabbing the bomb remote that had fallen on the deck, "Make the warships retreat! Or I'll press it! No one will survive!"
Magnus wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, slowly stood up, his black clothes in tatters.
"Then press it!"
He stood on the deck, arms outstretched, and fell backward into the vast sea behind him!
At the same time, Juniper had been rescued onto the speedboat just minutes after plunging into the sea.
She had swallowed a lot of water, but after being resuscitated, she quickly woke up, "Where's Magnus!"
The speedboat was speeding away from the area.
Juniper propped herself up, shouting, "Turn back and save Magnus! He's still on the yacht!"
Paul pressed her down forcefully, "Ms. Beaumont, if you go back now, everything Mr. Blackwood did will be in vain!"
"What did you say?"
Juniper was completely stunned.
She grabbed Paul's collar, her tear-filled eyes trembling violently, "Is Magnus dead?"
In the distance, a deafening explosion suddenly echoed across the sea!
Juniper looked over, and with the explosion came a huge fireball, lighting up the entire dark ocean!
The yacht had exploded!
Magnus was still on that yacht!
"Magnus!"
Juniper trembled all over, tears streaming uncontrollably!
She grabbed Paul with shaking hands, her choked voice hoarse, "Paul, let's go back and save him!"
"Ms. Beaumont, it's too late. Mr. Blackwood had a bomb on him," Paul said helplessly.
Juniper's throat tightened, her eyes widening in disbelief, "What did you say?"
Paul replied, "Mr. Blackwood strapped a bomb to himself to ensure we could escape safely. Otherwise, the Shadow Syndicate would have caught up long ago. Mr. Blackwood chose to sacrifice himself to protect you."
