Chapter 323 Officially Joining Windsor Group

In the video, a small, magnified face suddenly came close. "Dad! You're still awake?" Jenny stared wide-eyed at the screen, her face almost touching the camera.

Magnus felt a bit helpless. For some reason, his tight heartbeat suddenly relaxed a bit. But there was a slight yet undeniable sense of loss spreading in his chest. It was very contradictory.

He gently exhaled and said in a calm voice, "Don't look at the phone like that, you'll get nearsighted. Move back a bit."

"Okay." Jenny pulled her head back obediently.Magnus asked, "Why are you holding Mom's phone?"

Jenny replied, "Mom fell asleep in the next room, so I took her phone to play games."

Magnus frowned slightly and reminded, "Play fewer games; do more reading."

Jenny said a little frustrated, "Okay, I'll read tomorrow."

Seeing her looking unhappy, Magnus sighed softly and softened his tone a bit, "It's so late; is there something you want to tell Dad?"

Jenny pouted and said honestly, "I accidentally pressed it."

Actually, she couldn't pass a level in the game after several tries and needed to share a link with friends to get more energy.

While sharing the game, she accidentally touched the call button.

Magnus was stunned for a moment, then laughed and said, "It's late, go to sleep."

"Since we're already on video, Dad, can you talk to me for a bit? Don't you have anything to say to me?" Jenny asked.

"Study hard," Magnus said that same old phrase.

Jenny covered her forehead with her small hand, scratched her little head, and complained, "Dad! You're so annoying."

Magnus's lips curved slightly. "Go to sleep, kids who stay up late won't grow tall."

Jenny wasn't afraid at all and snorted, "Dad, you and Mom are so tall, so I can't be short! You always lie to me. I'm not stupid!"

Magnus remarked, "Watching too much on the phone will really make you nearsighted, smartypants."

Jenny said, "Okay, I'm going to sleep now! Dad, good night!"

Magnus uttered softly, "Good night."

Jenny waved her small hand at him in the video. Then, the video call ended.

Jenny put down the phone, climbed into bed, and covered herself with a small blanket with little dinosaur cartoons. Just as she lay down, she suddenly realized that she forgot to tell Magnus that Juniper was having a baby!

But lying in her warm little bed, Jenny was too lazy to move. She closed her eyes and soon fell asleep.

The next morning, the family doctor, Stefan Hensley, who had been treating Christopher, made a house call.

After carefully examining Juniper, Stefan frowned. "Ms. Abbott, you're very weak. Have you had a serious illness?"

Juniper truthfully explained the situation. Seeing Stefan's serious expression, she asked, "Is it very serious?"

Stefan shook his head. "It's not a serious illness, just a weak constitution. You just had a miscarriage; you need to take good care of yourself, or you'll have a lot of problems in the future."

Juniper nodded. "Okay."

Stefan said, "I'll prescribe some calming medicine for you to take for half a month. After that, I'll check on you again."

After the consultation, Ronald took Stefan back to the clinic and picked up the medicine.

Jenny, having finished breakfast, ran over in her little slippers and asked, "Mom, what did the doctor say?"

Juniper said with smile, "Nothing serious."

She hadn't told Jenny about the miscarriage. Jenny had been sent away to Solara and only thought her mom was in the hospital because she wasn't feeling well.

Jenny came over and instinctively touched Juniper's belly. "Mom, with the baby in your belly, do you often feel unwell?"

Juniper held her small hand and hugged her. "I'll be fine after some rest, don't worry."

As long as enough time passed, everything would be okay.

A month, two months, half a year... a year, two years, looking back, those storms wouldn't seem like much.

Life had its ups and downs, and happiness often came at the cost of pain. It was no big deal.

A week later, Christopher was discharged smoothly.

At Christopher's Mansion, everyone gathered. Karen was also there.

Christopher held Juniper's hand and said to everyone, "Everyone, Quinn, as my only biological daughter, will officially join Windsor Group and take over from me."

As soon as he said this, Karen's face changed immediately. "Dad, I have no objection to her joining Windsor Group, but with her current qualifications, how can she take over? You're awake and in good health. The company is in chaos after a major setback. If Juniper joins now, she'll only add to the mess!"

Karen wasn't speaking out of self-interest. She simply didn't believe Juniper had the ability to take over Windsor Group.

Juniper also knew she didn't have the capability to handle Windsor Group yet, and she wasn't familiar with its business structure.

So she said to Christopher, "Dad, I can start working at Windsor Group, but you should still be in charge. I can be your assistant, and you can teach me. Once I'm familiar with the business, we can talk about taking over."

Christopher looked at the proud and temperamental Karen, then at the calm and composed Juniper, and suddenly had a new idea.

He smiled and said, "I'm not fully recovered yet, so I won't be at the company all the time. Karen, your assistant left, right? You're capable and familiar with Windsor Group's business. You can mentor Quinn."

Everyone was stunned, especially Karen, who opened her red lips, paused for a few seconds, and said ruthlessly, "Dad, I have high standards for assistants. I can't work with someone who isn't efficient."

Christopher asked, "You haven't worked with Quinn yet, so how do you know she isn't efficient?"

Karen didn't know how to refuse. She glanced at Juniper and said, "If you work with me and don't do well, I'll still scold you. Dad, you know my work style, I won't go easy on her just because she's your daughter."

Christopher smiled knowingly, "Of course, Karen, you and Quinn have opposite personalities. Maybe working together will create a different kind of synergy. You're too impatient; having Quinn around might balance you out, which could be a good thing."

Karen took a deep breath, held back her temper, and agreed, "Fine! Quinn, when can you start? My assistant disappeared suddenly, leaving a mess. You can start by handling that."

Juniper was about to say she could start tomorrow when Ronald suddenly spoke up, "Dad, isn't this a bit inappropriate?"
