Chapter 94 Rival in Love

That night, Juniper knelt in front of the mourning hall, as if lost.
Jennifer was also beside her, kneeling next to her.
She was sleepy, but she didn't dare to fall asleep.
Afraid that if she fell asleep, her Mom would go with Grandma.
Downstairs, inside the black Maybach.

Magnus sat in the car and pulled out an old cellphone from the storage compartment.
This cellphone was a couple edition.
He had a black one, and Juniper had a white one.
Even the phone numbers of the two phones were consecutive.
This phone number had been deactivated for three years.
Later, he was released from prison and inexplicably recharged his phone, keeping the number.
He didn't even understand the meaning of his actions.
Reason told him that this was futile, this was pathetic, this was an undesirable delusion.
But emotions are primitive, brutally making people lose control.

As for Juniper, she was like a piece of sandalwood, not feeling the impact at first, even thinking that she had complete control over everything and confidently in control of the situation.

Whether to seek revenge on her or to leave cleanly, it was all up to him.
But as the hatred grew, he only came to realize when he snapped out of it that she had already deeply rooted herself in his soul.

Once he wanted to remove her, it would require painful effort, even breaking bones, yet the tendons would still be connected.
Magnus turned on his phone.

The screen lit up, with Juniper's serene sleeping face as the background.
He opened the voicemail and heard Juniper's sweet voice.
"Can you come back early tonight and bring me some Corn Muffins?"

"Magnus, let's play claw machine this week! You're so good at it, we'll definitely get a bunch!"
"Magnus, I miss you. Where are you? Come pick me up, I'm being eaten alive by mosquitoes."
"I got a scholarship, Magnus. Let's go out for a big meal tonight, my treat!"
That lively and spirited Juniper probably died six years ago.
Magnus turned off the phone and threw it back into the storage compartment.
The car window was slightly lowered.
He took out a cigarette, lit it with a lighter, and for no reason, Juniper's murmurs popped into his mind.

"Smoking is bad for your lungs. What would I do if you got sick? Magnus, I hope you'll take care of me until we grow old, and then I'll go first. I don't want to lose you first."
But in the end, she lost him first.

Suddenly, the craving for cigarettes wasn't as strong.
He put the cigarette back into the pack, no longer in the mood to smoke.
Just sitting in the car, neither sad nor happy.
It was as if he had lost his soul.

Between her and him, they had long deviated from their original path and gradually drifted apart.
Juniper knelt in front of the funeral hall all night.
Magnus stayed in the car downstairs all night.
Early the next day, Juniper carried the urn downstairs, with Ophelia holding a black umbrella by her side.

Jennifer followed Juniper closely.
The hearse arrived.
William and Michael also came.
Even Robert, who had never liked her, came.
Juniper nodded at them in appreciation.
With the urn in her hands, Ophelia took the umbrella and got in the car with her.
Jennifer glanced outside and pursed her lips, saying, "Mom, Dad hasn't left yet. Is Dad going to go with us to send Grandma off?"

Juniper fell silent for a few seconds, not knowing what to say.
"I don't know, maybe."
"Did Magnus stay downstairs overnight? Why isn't he going up?"
Ophelia was unaware of what had happened at the nursing home.
Juniper didn't want to say much either.

Lyra's death, she didn't want to delve into.
That secret would also disappear with her.

Soon, they arrived at the South Mountain Cemetery.
The cemetery that Ophelia had arranged for was considered a good feng shui spot, with mountains, water, and trees, and the environment was nice.
Juniper gently placed the urn into the grave.
"Mom, have a safe journey."

The gravedigger on the side asked, "Is there anything else to put in? If not, I'll seal it."
Juniper nodded, "Seal it."
The gravedigger closed the cover tightly.
Dressed in black, Juniper stood in front of the tombstone and bowed deeply.
Then, others also stepped forward to bow.

Magnus stood not far away, calmly watching everything.
Jennifer turned her head and saw her father.
Dad stood alone over there, looking so lonely.
She ran over and held Magnus's hand.
"Dad, come with us to send Grandma off. Grandma doesn't know I have such a handsome dad!"

Jennifer was still young and unaware of everything.
She pulled Magnus over.
Magnus seemed passive.

In fact, he had no right to be here, and he didn't even deserve to mourn for Lyra.
But Juniper didn't push him away. She appeared quite calm about Magnus's presence.
Calm to the point of ignoring him.

Magnus stepped forward and bowed to the tombstone.
After the burial ceremony was completely over, the group of people walked toward the parking lot.
The South Mountain Cemetery was quite large, and the parking lot was at the bottom of the mountain, a bit far away.

William walked up to Juniper and said, "Juniper, let me take you and Jennifer home later."
Juniper didn't speak yet.
Jennifer spoke up, "Mr. Anderson, no need. My dad will take me and Mom home."
"Dad?"

William was bewildered.
Jennifer's biological father had passed away, right?

Jennifer held Magnus's hand and introduced, "This is my dad. Dad, say something! Mr. Anderson has helped me and Mom a lot before."

Showing some courtesy, Magnus nodded in acknowledgment.

Although he seemed polite, his eyes were icy cold.

There was not a hint of friendliness.

William felt awkward, but considering the current situation, it was not a good time to ask questions.

Juniper had just lost a loved one and it was obvious she wasn't in the mood to discuss these things.

Juniper, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up: "William, I won't be riding in your car later. Ophelia will take me home, so don't worry."

William was taken aback but then his eyes brightened a bit. "Alright, just take care. If you need any help, feel free to call me at any time."

While Juniper wasn't riding in his car, she also wasn't riding in Magnus's car.
Jennifer held onto Magnus's hand and walked behind everyone else.

She frowned and looked at Magnus with a helpless complaint, "Dad, why are you so unenthusiastic? "
Magnus still didn't speak.

His emotions were difficult to discern from his face.

Jennifer feel frustrated and muttered softly, "He's turned mute now."
Seeing Magnus's indifference, she let go of his hand and ran towards Juniper.
"Mom, I don't want to leave later. Can I stay with you for a few days?"
Juniper patted her head, "We'll have to ask your dad about that."

"I already asked, and Dad agreed. He said you can come with me to Royal View."
Juniper, of course, would not be going.
"Jennifer, can I come visit you next time? Mom has been really tired lately and doesn't want to go anywhere."

She looked exhausted.

Jennifer couldn't do much about it, "Really?"
"Yes."
Ophelia ruffled the child's hair and comforted her, "Jennifer, your mom's been feeling down lately. When she's feeling better, she'll come visit you. Your godmother will take good care of your mom, so don't worry."

"Alright then, Mom. I will miss you, and you have to miss me too!"
When they arrived at the parking lot and were about to part ways, Juniper suddenly squatted down and hugged Jennifer.
Desperate Love: sorry for my dear husband
