Chapter 192 She Is Sick
The bathroom was filled with mist.
Magnus kissed her hard, even biting her lip, and the taste of blood spread in their mouths.
No matter how rough he got, Juniper didn't resist. She just accepted it calmly.
Even though it hurt, she just frowned and endured it without pushing him away.
But in this kiss, he couldn't feel any emotion from her.
Juniper even asked, "Can we go to the bed?"
The more she acted like this, the angrier Magnus got. He tightened his grip on her neck. "Will you just willingly accept no matter what I do?"
The deadline hadn't expired yet; he was her creditor. "During the repayment period, you are the client..." Juniper said.
Before she could finish, Magnus let her go.
"Get out," he said coldly.
Magnus's handsome face, shrouded in mist, showed no softness, and a chill emanated from him.
Juniper left the bathroom without any complaints, even reminding him, "Don't soak for too long. The doctor said hot baths aren't good for wound healing."
But her concern sounded different to Magnus.
He thought, 'Are you afraid my wound will worsen and delay your return to Southern City?'
If this wound never healed, Juniper would have to stay by his side forever. This shameful thought crossed Magnus's mind.
Outside the bathroom, Juniper got a call from Ronald. "Hello, Ronald?"
Ronald sounded worried. "How have you been in the Imperial Capital? Has Magnus been giving you a hard time? Last time I called, you didn't answer, and your phone was off. Did something happen?"
Juniper didn't want them to worry, so she said, "My phone just ran out of battery. Magnus hasn't been giving me a hard time."
Ronald was skeptical. "Really?"
They had dealt with Magnus before, and Ronald thought he was domineering and ruthless. If he wanted to make things difficult, Juniper wouldn't stand a chance.
Juniper replied, "Yes, he hasn't."
Ronald was still worried. "When are you coming back to Southern City? Our godfather has been mentioning you a lot lately."
Juniper said, "Probably in about half a month."
Once Magnus's wound healed, she would return to Southern City to see Christopher.
She had been away for so long and missed Christopher.
Standing nearby, Magnus heard every word she said to Ronald, his eyes filled with cold loneliness.
Juniper's desire to return to Southern City had never changed.
This was Juniper, gentle on the surface, but once she made a decision, she was resolute.
Magnus clenched his hand, his knuckles cracking.
Juniper hung up and saw Magnus walking towards the bed.
His face was cold, and his tone was indifferent. "If you want to sleep in Jenny's room, go ahead. Don't force yourself to sleep in my bed."
Juniper said, "But before, when I slept in Jenny's room, you would bring me back in the middle of the night. Rather than going through all that trouble..."
Magnus said, "That was before. Juniper, from now on, I won't force you anymore."
Juniper took a deep breath and looked at him, calming down. "You're the one who forced me, and now you're the one who doesn't want to force me. You're the one who trapped me with fourteen billion dollars to stay by your side to repay the debt, and you're the one who set the one-month deadline. Magnus, I'm just following your rules."
She couldn't figure out what she'd done to upset Magnus. Even when she complied, he was still unhappy.
Magnus suddenly approached her, eyes cold and angry. "So, to you, this is just a business deal?"
When the deadline was up, she could walk away anytime.
He laughed, eyes red with anger. "Yeah, how could I forget? From the start, it's been me forcing you."
Juniper said, "I don't want to argue. You're injured; get some rest."
Juniper's calmness was like a lifeless mirror, so calm it made Magnus want to shatter it.
He told her to sleep in Jenny's room, and Juniper took her pillow and left.
She closed the door and said, "Good night."
As soon as the door closed, Magnus's temples throbbed. After a few seconds, he kicked over the table.
He sat by the bed, trying to calm down, when his phone rang.
The caller ID showed Aria.
Magnus took a deep breath and answered.
Aria asked, "How have you been feeling lately?"
"Just the same." Three curt words, his tone not good.
Clearly, he was in a bad mood.
Aria asked, "Did you get into another fight with Juniper?"
Magnus asked, "Do you know Siri?"
Aria said, "Siri?"
Magnus gritted his teeth and laughed coldly. "Siri answers every question, even if it's off-topic. Juniper is like Siri now. I ask; she answers. I tell her what to do, she does it." Not a single extra move.
If he initiated, she would respond. If he didn't, she wouldn't speak.
Aria was silent for a few seconds, then said, "That's called a pseudo-intimate relationship. When you stop initiating, the relationship ends."
Pseudo-intimate relationship. That was what they had now.
Magnus wanted to get close to Juniper, and she allowed it, but it was only physical.
He could feel her heart wasn't open to him. All the intimacy was because he wanted it, so she gave in.
Aria curiously asked, "Have you had sex recently?"
"Do you have to ask that?" Magnus clearly didn't want to answer.
Aria explained, "Don't get me wrong. I just want to know if Juniper resists having sex with you."
Magnus didn't want to admit it. No man would want to admit that the woman he liked resisted having sex with him.
He gripped his phone tightly, his tone even colder. "She resists."
Aria continued, "Does she have any reactions?"
Magnus recalled, eyes narrowing. "At first, she would tremble, her face would turn pale, and at the worst, she had difficulty breathing."
After describing it, Magnus was stunned for a moment and then laughed.
He realized Juniper truly disliked him, to the point of physical aversion.
Aria concluded, "That's not normal."
Magnus sneered. "Of course, I know it's not normal."
Aria said, "I mean, she might be ill."
Magnus said, "I am also ill, but I don't resist her."
He thought Juniper simply hated him touching her.
Aria pondered and said, "Her reaction to you is very similar to PTSD symptoms, but I haven't diagnosed her, so I can't be sure."
Post-traumatic stress disorder was similar to depression.
Hearing this, Magnus frowned.
Magnus had been receiving treatment for bipolar disorder from Aria for four years.
Aria knew a lot about the past between him and Juniper.
Aria said, "You two have had too many grievances. If Juniper really has PTSD because of you, it might never be cured. Even if you reconcile, it might be hard to have a truly intimate relationship. Are you really planning to entangle with someone who has no future with you for a lifetime?"
