Chapter 207: A Child Without a Mother is Pitiful

Jenny opened her clear eyes, pouted her little mouth, and looked at him with sympathy.

Magnus frowned, extremely irritated, "I don't want to cry. Go say goodbye to your mom."

Jenny moved her little face closer, seriously studying his expression, not believing him, "Really? Then, Dad, I'm going to see Mom off. Don't cry."

Jenny patted his arm with her small hand, comforting him like an adult.

As she reached the door, Magnus called out to her, "Remember, don't cling to your mom. Let her go."

"Okay, Dad, just don't regret it." Jenny went out, grabbed the door handle with her little hand and thoughtfully closed the door.

She was afraid that Magnus might cry too loudly later. Magnus, being so arrogant, would definitely feel it was undignified.

After Juniper packed her luggage, Paul put the suitcase in the trunk.

"Ms. Beaumont, please get in the car. If we don't leave now, we might miss the flight," Paul said.

It was almost nine o'clock.

Jenny ran out quickly, "Mom! Dad wants you to leave quickly!"

Paul was shocked.

Was Magnus serious?

Juniper squatted down to hug Jenny, "Then I will leave first. When you have a break, I'll come to take you to Southern City to play."

Jenny remembered Magnus's instructions and seriously said, "Mom, I won't miss you. Don't worry about me! Dad and I will be fine! Take care of yourself!"

Jenny was being unusually obedient.

Juniper had planned that if Jenny clung to her leg and cried, she would stay a few more days.

But now it seemed that they didn't need her.

Juniper felt a bit relieved but also a bit lost. She still said, "Jenny, you take care of yourself too, alright? Be a good kid and listen to your dad."

"Okay!"

Jenny hugged her neck and gave Juniper a big kiss on the cheek, "Mom, you should go now. If you don't leave, you'll miss the flight."

"Alright."

Juniper let go of Jenny, but as she got into the car, she couldn't help but look back at Jenny.

Jenny waved her little hand, "Bye, Mom!"

Seeing her not crying or fussing, Juniper smiled.

Jenny had grown up and wasn't as clingy as before.

That was fine. Independence wasn't a bad thing.

It was hard, but Jenny accepted that her mom and Magnus were done. It helped to know that their love for her wouldn't change, even if they were no longer together.

But she couldn't help feeling emotional.

As Juniper was about to get into the car, a tall figure walked out of the villa.

Paul's eyes lit up!

Was Magnus coming to ask her to stay?

He could tell that if Magnus just said a few words, Juniper would definitely soften and stay.

But Magnus was actually telling her to leave!

Juniper stepped out of the car.

She turned to look at Magnus, "Are you here to see me off?"

"No," Magnus answered.

Juniper looked at him, puzzled.

Magnus took her hand, causing her to flinch.

"You forgot your medicine," he said, placing a small bottle in her palm before releasing her hand.

Juniper looked at him, "This is an empty bottle. There's no medicine in it."

Hearing this, Magnus frowned slightly, "I didn't realize."

"Alright." She held the empty bottle, turned to get into the car, but paused to look back at him. "Magnus."

"Did you forget something else?" Magnus asked.

The answer wasn't in her words, but it was clear.

"No." Juniper looked at him, holding back the tears in her eyes, "I'm leaving now. Take care of Jenny."

"Safe travels," Magnus said.

"Okay." Juniper bent down and got into the car.

The black Maybach drove away.

Magnus and Jenny stood at the gate, watching the car disappear into the distance, both looking forlorn.

Jenny frowned and glared at Magnus, "Dad, Mom's gone."

"I saw. You don't need to remind me." Magnus was upset.

Jenny angrily let go of his hand and stubbornly walked into the house.

She was furious!

She thought Magnus came out to ask Juniper to stay, but... it was like Magnus's mouth was sewn shut!

After Jenny went inside, Magnus remained outside, his face expressionless and cold.

The dark intensity in his eyes surged, turning his black eyes a deep, unsettling red.

Sitting in the back seat of the Maybach, Juniper tightly held the empty medicine bottle.

As the car drove a distance, she couldn't help but look back.

Magnus’s tall, dark figure retreated into the yard.

Juniper managed a smile, but it was bittersweet.

She had always been the one wanting to leave, bluffing for a long time until Magnus finally let go. Yet, the relief she had anticipated was nowhere to be found.

She should have been relieved, but her chest felt tight and uncomfortable.

Tears welled up in her eyes.

Paul, driving in the front, glanced at her through the rearview mirror and hesitated before speaking. "Ms. Beaumont, Mr. Blackwood is actually not the heartless man he seems. He didn’t want to push you away."

"There's no point in saying this now. Paul, Magnus's stomach isn't good. During social events, try to get him to drink and smoke less."

As long as Magnus and Jenny were doing well, that was enough for her.

They had been through so much, and their relationship was full of holes. The idea of starting over was tempting, but the road back was rarely easy.

Paul didn't say anything more, just replied, "Okay."

After Juniper left, Royal View reverted to its state from a year ago—cold and silent. The only interruptions were Jenny’s occasional songs about her mom as she walked through the house with her little backpack.

Magnus found it extremely irritating and chided, "Can you shut up?"

"Okay," Jenny said, pinching her lips shut and stopping her singing.

She wandered around the living room in her cartoon slippers, seemingly trying to get Magnus's attention.

Her wandering made Magnus dizzy.

Magnus frowned, "Have you finished your homework?"

Jenny didn't respond.

Magnus's voice grew colder, "I'm talking to you."

She shook her head, "Dad, you told me to shut up, and now you want me to talk. Do you want me to shut up or talk?"

"Go upstairs and do your homework. Come down when it's time for dinner," Magnus said resignedly.

Naomi, carrying Jenny's little backpack, followed her upstairs.

As they ascended, Jenny muttered, "He drove Mom away and now takes his bad mood out on me."

Once upstairs, Jenny started singing again.

This time, Jenny sang even louder.

It was as if she was afraid Magnus, who was downstairs, wouldn't hear her.

Naomi couldn't help but laugh, "Jenny, aren't you afraid your dad will come up and spank you? He's been in a bad mood these days. You don’t want to get into trouble."

Jenny spun her pen while doing her homework, completely unfazed. "If he hits me, I'll call Mom and tell on him."

As long as she mentioned Juniper, Magnus would immediately behave well.

Naomi sighed, "Your dad is also very upset. You should sing less."

Jenny was angry, "If Dad is so upset, why doesn't he take me to Southern City to find Mom? If we go to Southern City, Mom will definitely be happy."

"I don't know. You have to ask your dad. But Mr. Blackwood must have his reasons for doing this," Naomi replied.

Jenny picked up her phone and made a video call to Juniper.

The call connected quickly.

"Mom!"

But instead of Juniper, another man appeared on the screen.

Ronald was giving Juniper a tour of Windsor Group.

Although she was now at work, seeing it was Jenny's call, Juniper answered it without hesitation.
