Chapter 125: What a Coincidence, Ran Into an Acquaintance

Magnus opened the five-second voice message. Juniper's clear and cold voice flowed from the receiver:

"I just checked, there's an animated movie you like premiering next Monday. You're on summer break, so we'll go watch it together next Monday. Good night, baby."

Magnus listened to this five-second voice message repeatedly.

Jennifer finished her bath, put on her cartoon pajamas, and ran over. "Daddy, I'm going to bed, can I have the phone?"

Magnus calmly handed her the phone and specifically instructed, "Your mom is asleep, don't message her at night anymore."

Jennifer pouted. "But I haven't talked to her yet, I want to call her, Daddy. If Mom doesn't contact you, you'll be unhappy, right?"

"No, your mom isn't feeling well, try not to disturb her at night."

"Oh, okay," Jennifer added, "I'll talk to Mom again tomorrow."

She opened Twitter and scrolled for a while. 'Huh, why is the chat history with Mom gone?'

"Daddy, where's the chat history with Mom?"

Magnus nonchalantly replied, "Slip of the hand, accidentally deleted it."

The little one's face drooped. "Daddy, you're so careless!"

"Yes, I'll be more careful next time. It's late, go to bed."

"Okay, Daddy, good night."

Jennifer walked to the door, then turned with a pout. "By the way, Daddy, what do you think of what I said?"

"What thing?"

"That I spend three days with Mom, three days with you, and one day all three of us together."

The man nodded slightly and objectively commented, "Yes, it's a good idea."

Jennifer's eyes lit up. "Daddy, you agree?"

"I agree, but my agreement doesn't mean your mom agrees. Why don't you ask for her opinion?"

"Okay! I'll ask her tomorrow, Daddy, wait for good news from me!" Jennifer took her phone, humming a happy tune, and ran to her room to sleep.

Magnus sat in the study, not feeling sleepy. He picked up his phone and instinctively opened a video app. In the app, he was prompted to log in. He set up a private account, using to a minimalist username, Y. Then, he followed Harper Beaumont's account.

He put on his headphones and listened online to Juniper's songs for a while. Then, he called Joseph.

"Have we finalized the singer for the Dreaming Back to New York game theme song?"

"Not yet, last time you mentioned checking out Harper Beaumont's true identity, but Harper Beaumontisn't Juniper. Magnus, should we still choose Harper Beaumont?"

"Let's go with her, I think her singing style in that Jennifer song suits Dreaming Back to New York."

"Alright, I'll have someone contact Harper Beaumonttomorrow to come in for a recording as soon as possible."

The next day, in room 668, Juniper received a business call.

"Hello, is this Harper Beaumont?"

"Yes, who's this?"

"I'm from the SY Group's Dreaming Back to New York game project team. Our game is about to launch, but we haven't finalized the singer for the theme song. We conducted an online poll and selected a few popular internet singers. We think you're a good fit. When can you come to SY for a discussion?"

Juniper was taken aback, "SY?"

"Yes, have you heard of our game before?"

"No, sorry, thank you for considering me, but I have a lot of personal matters at the moment and can't arrange my schedule. Maybe we can collaborate next time." Juniper declined politely but firmly.

"Are you sure you won't reconsider? In terms of compensation, we believe SY offers more than others."

"Sorry, I'm not considering it at the moment."

Just as she hung up, there was a knock on the door. "Juniper, it's me."

Juniper got up to open the door, "Ronald, what's up?"

"I wanted to ask you about your plans. Christopher called me last night, asking when we're going back to Lindwood City."

"I might not be able to leave for now. I told Jennifer last night that we're going to the movies next Monday. And the issue of Jennifer's custody, I don't know how to resolve it yet. If Jennifer chooses me, I'll fight for custody with Magnus."

Ronald nodded. "I understand. After all, she's your biological daughter. That's hard to let go of. But what if Jennifer chooses him?"

Juniper had also considered this outcome. "Magnus is good to her. If Jennifer chooses her dad, I'll respect her decision."

"Do you need Christopher or me to help fight for it?"

"No need, there's no need to involve too many people. And whether Jennifer is with me or Magnus, she'll be happy. Christopher is right, if the child's father is a good dad, it's okay to be with him. Seeing Jennifer happy when I came back this time, I can rest assured."

"Juniper, have you ever considered working in our company? Christopher called me last night, hinting at this."

Juniper was surprised, "Me? But what would I do in the company?"

"You're a high-achieving graduate from Imperial Capital University, you can handle many business aspects, including some overseas affairs. Your language skills are good, and you can execute tasks quickly."

"I know this is Christopher's goodwill, I'll consider it, but I have personal matters to attend to at the moment. I may not have the energy for it temporarily. And I have a lot of business now, Harper Beaumont's account is quite profitable, I don't want to give it up."

"Alright, take your time to consider and get back to us."

That evening, after Ophelia finished work, she made plans to have dinner with Juniper. They arrived at the World Trade Center. Ophelia linked arms with Juniper as they strolled.

Ophelia complained, "I'm so tired of this paparazzi job, the salary I earn in a month isn't even enough to buy a bag. I think about quitting every day."

"Don't you paparazzi trade with celebrities? Holding their secrets, you can extort them, there should be a lot of hidden income, right?"

Ophelia said unhappily, "Juniper, do you think those opportunities are plentiful? And now those artists are stingy, they won't even pay tens of thousands for hush money. They deserve it if they get into trouble, they lack vision."

Juniper chuckled at her. Ophelia added, "By the way, if you ever plan to show your face in a live stream, let me know in advance, I'm calling dibs on that scoop!"

"Okay, but if I show my face, will I also get into trouble?"

Ophelia carefully examined her, pinching her chin and looking left and right. "With your natural face, if you really show it, you'll definitely trend, there's no question of getting into trouble. By the way, here's a suggestion: with your face, if you really do a live stream, don't use beauty filters, the original camera will look better."

Juniper laughed. "You're thinking ahead."

"Of course, I've even thought of the trending headlines, it's the dedication engraved in my DNA as a paparazzo."

"When I've earned enough money, let's open a store together, so you don't have to read the Browns' expressions."

Ophelia hugged her. "That suits me."

Seeing her downcast, Juniper asked, "Did you have a fight with Robert?"

Ophelia shook her head. "No, he and I were originally a business alliance. My mother-in-law has been urging me to have children, but we're two people without feelings for each other. How can we have a child?"

It wasn't her being melodramatic. When the family's financial chain was short, her real father immediately sent her to Robert's bed. Robert married her because she was pretty, had a good education, and could attend society events.

But this marriage of mutual benefit was in crisis. One day, even if this marriage suddenly collapses, it wouldn't be surprising. A marriage without love is like a building without a foundation.

Juniper, being a woman, naturally understood her. "If you really don't want to persist, no matter what decision you make, I support you. When people see Robert, they think he's a good man, but what they see is only superficial. Marriage, you know its warmth and coldness. What he's like in marriage, you know best, you're the most qualified to judge if he's qualified."

Ophelia looked at her, moved. "Ah, Juniper, only you can understand me."

As they chatted, they arrived at the entrance of a Mexican restaurant. They ran into Michael head-on. He was standing next to a woman, holding her arm, both heading toward the same place.

All four saw each other.

When Michael saw Juniper, Sinclair clearly felt the man beside her change his emotions. He stood there, looking at Juniper, not coming back to his senses for a long time.

Then Ophelia's voice rang out. "What a coincidence, meeting an acquaintance. Let's share a table, Sinclair, your treat?"

Juniper greeted Michael normally. "Long time no see."

"Juniper, you're still alive!" Michael instinctively let go of Sinclair's hand, striding over to Juniper. His eyes were filled with excitement and joy. Perhaps due to excessive emotion, he momentarily lost control, reaching out to hug Juniper.

Juniper stepped back.

Ophelia pushed him away. "Michael, your fiancée is still over there, what are you doing?"

Ophelia's blunt words made Michael somewhat embarrassed. He calmed down, looking at Juniper. "I was just excited to see an old friend still alive."

Ophelia raised an eyebrow, not believing him. "You'd better be."

Sinclair walked over, once again linking arms with Michael. She looked at the woman next to Ophelia and smiled slightly, "Michael, is this Juniper?"

Michael simply answered, "Yes."

Sinclair reached out to Juniper. "Hello, I'm Sinclair, Michael's fiancée. Juniper, you're even prettier than in the photos."

Juniper was surprised. "You've seen my photos?"

"Yes, I saw them in Michael's graduation yearbook."

Juniper shook hands with Sinclair without overthinking. "Hello."

After a brief exchange, they all entered the Mexican restaurant together. After ordering their meals, Juniper casually asked, "When are you planning to get married? Have you set a date?"

Michael's face darkened. Sinclair subconsciously looked at the man beside her. She hoped he would acknowledge her identity in front of Juniper.

After a while, Michael suddenly spoke, "The wedding date isn't set yet, no rush."
