Chapter 307 Earning Money to Support Mrs. Blackwood
But at that time, Magnus said, "If I scold you, you'll cry and I have to comfort you in the end."
Juniper, sobbing, pulled him to the corner of the classroom to search everywhere. "But that necklace was thirty thousand dollars, and I lost it. Even if we sold it, it would still be worth some money."
Magnus grabbed her, hugged her, and said with a helpless smile, "If you keep searching, I might as well just buy you a new one."
Juniper immediately shook her head and quickly said, "Forget it. If I lose another one, that would be too wasteful."
He wiped the tears from her face and deliberately teased her, "If you keep crying, I'll really take you to buy another one."
Juniper said, "Then won't we be broke next month?"
At that time, Juniper had just started her freshman year, while Magnus was about to graduate with his PhD.
He used the money he earned from working on projects with his advisor to invest in some promising stocks and quickly made a substantial amount of money.
After being with Juniper, he opened a joint account and deposited all his available money into it, except for the portion tied up in stocks that were not readily sellable.
Although it was nominally a joint account, he never managed it; Juniper had full control over the funds.
Aside from the basic living expenses like rent and utilities, most of the money was essentially Juniper's spending money.
But at that time, Juniper was young and not very good at managing finances. Magnus spoiled her so much that he never argued with her even if she spent all the living expenses by mid-month. He never questioned where the money went.
Eventually, Juniper felt embarrassed and quietly returned the bank card to him, saying she couldn't manage it well.
But Magnus, feeling guilty, said, "It's my fault for not earning enough. You actually had the chance to spend it all."
Strictly speaking, that was the truth. If there was enough money, it would be impossible to spend it all just on daily living expenses.
But this love and indulgence were never about the money in the account.
Later, Magnus earned more and more, but that money still became Juniper's pocket money.
Later still, Magnus got drunk at a social event and hugged her from behind, saying, "Baby, give me a little more time, and I'll give you the best things in the world."
At that time, Juniper nestled in his arms, her smile bright and charming. She playfully pinched Magnus's cheek and said, "To me, Magnus, you're the most incomparable thing in this world."
Magnus raised an eyebrow. "I'm just a thing?"
Juniper threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly, and whispered in his ear, "Yes, you're my beloved treasure."
Those beautiful and youthful memories flooded her mind.
They then returned home from the cathedral.
Juniper kept looking at the pink diamond on her ring finger. The stone emitted a soft pink glow, set in a classic six-prong setting. There were no flashy side diamonds to distract from its beauty; the single, unadorned diamond shone with a striking brilliance. It was elegant and refined, a timeless piece that captivated with its understated splendor.
Magnus came out of the bathroom after a shower, drying his wet short hair with a towel. Seeing her staring at the diamond ring on her ring finger, he smiled lightly and said, "You've been looking at it for a long time; aren't you tired of it yet?"
Juniper asked, "Why a pink diamond? Why didn't you buy a white diamond?"
Weren't engagement rings usually white diamonds?
Magnus said, "There are too many white diamonds; they're not special enough. Pure pink diamonds like this are rare on the market. Do you like white diamonds? We can pick one next time."
As he spoke, he suddenly paused. He hoped he would still have the chance to pick out a diamond ring with Juniper.
Magnus took her hand, frowned slightly, and said, "This pink diamond is 2 carats. At the auction, I thought its color was pure, its clarity high, and its name beautiful, so I bought it. But now it seems smaller than the rings I've seen on the wives of people in our circle."
Juniper's fingers were slender, and the 2-carat pink diamond already looked quite prominent on her hand.
A diamond ring, after all, was just an accessory to adorn its owner. If it was too big, it overshadowed the person and lost its beauty.
Juniper didn't mind. She raised her left hand to the light and said, "This is just right. Does this stone have a name?"
Magnus nodded and replied, "Yes, it's called 'Eternal Bond.'"
It represented his desire to be bound to Juniper for life, through joy and sorrow, pain and pleasure. As long as it was her, he was willing to be entangled with her for a lifetime.
Juniper hugged his neck, kissed his thin lips, and smiled sweetly at him, "I love it."
Magnus held her waist and hips, lifting her onto his lap. "As long as you like it."
Juniper lay on his shoulder and asked, "How long are you staying in Solara to see us?"
Magnus's eyes darkened, and his expression turned somber. "I have to leave early tomorrow morning."
He had originally planned to stay with her for only half a day, but after seeing her, he couldn't bear to leave. He decided to spend the night with her.
Proposing at the cathedral made this trip worthwhile.
Juniper pouted and frowned. "In such a hurry? Is Mr. Blackwood, you're that busy?"
Magnus pinched her cheek with his long fingers and joked, "Mr. Blackwood is busy making money to support Mrs. Blackwood."
Juniper knew work was important and didn't act spoiled. "When can Jenny and I return to the Imperial Capital? Alice said she scheduled a few business meetings for me, but I can't attend because I'm not in the country."
Magnus frowned slightly. "Are you still running the Harper Beaumont account?"
Juniper nodded and asked, "Yes, why? Shouldn't I?"
There had been some drama online before, but after the storm passed, she gained some fans. The fan base was still solid.
It would be a pity to give up that account because of a small setback.
Magnus didn't want to interfere with her work but suggested, "Live streaming and short videos are indeed trending now. SY has signed similar influencers before, and it's a good way to make quick money. But now you don't lack money, so if it's just for money, it doesn't make much sense. Juniper, have you ever thought about getting into business and personnel management?"
Juniper didn't reject the idea. "But I don't have a company or a group to manage."
For ordinary people, learning business and personnel management might not be useful because they didn't have companies or groups to inherit.
But Juniper was different. She was Christopher's biological daughter and Magnus's wife. If anything happened to Magnus, SY would definitely be handed over to her and Jenny in the future.
Magnus wanted to pave the way for her future, so he said, "I'll have Paul find a business consultant here to give you some lessons on corporate structure and business modeling, as well as the basics of different types of companies. You don't need to learn too much detail,—just enough to hold a shareholders' meeting and manage your subordinates. For anything else, you can ask professional managers and business consultants."
Juniper looked at him, slightly stunned, then smiled and said, "Mr. Blackwood, are you training your successor or your wife?"
